    Here’s something I wish I had known before turning 60 years old …There’s also a bug called the budworm that specifically eats petunias. For several years, I couldn’t figure out why my petunias would never bloom and then a Master gardener told me about the budworm. There are ways to control it, but you have to be incredibly careful that you only put the control method on the petunia because it will kill all caterpillars. And as we know,all butterflies have a caterpillar stage. We don’t wanna be killing the monarchs and the Tigers swallows etc..

    Other videos did not show up close like you did - I was not sure if the green seed in the middle ones needed to be cut but you did a great job showing those and the brown ones too. Thank you so much for that detail and the simplicity as well. My favorite is “when the bloom they think their done..” something like that. Thanks Tracie!

    Very cool and informative!! I bought one of the Firefly petunias & have been deadheading it - but didn't realize that I needed to cut the seed head (didn't even think about it producing the seed pods!). Thank you for the heads up!

    They are really pretty! If you dead head all your flowers, they will continue to bloom for you. Beautiful colors you have. I have both of those colors and a deep dark purple that looks like velvet.

    I am always confused between those that are just about to open, versus, just closed and are dying...maybe they dont roll up tight when they die...I think I get it now...I did already know about pruning the pods...lovely upload. Thank you!

    Check out the Fire Fly Petunias by Light Bio. They took Bioluminescence from mushrooms and engineered it into the Petunias. They Glow during the night. ❤

    So pretty! Your explanations were clear, and I appreciate you weren't too chatty, and thanks for the summary. How do you tell the difference between a pre-bloomed flower and a seed pod? They look the same to me.

      Hello Chris, yes- a hard green pod on the inside. There are flowering ones that are softer and are budding in order to make a new flower but you will be able to tell the difference 👍🏽

      To encourage the plant to give new flowers, otherwise it will have closed its life cycle and it will begin to dry out.

    Why do TH-camrs think they need to have an introduction followed by a repeat of the introduction followed by reiterating the same message. Underestimating your audience’s intelligence and patience? Just get to the instruction, short, concise, and factual is all that’s needed and necessary.     Amazing! I find it relaxing to go out in my garden and take the time to deadhead all of the spent-blooms and seed pods of my petunias. And I swear by Miracle Grow fertilizer- it helps the colours stay vibrant and triples the blooms🤍
