- Take advantage of the PowerPoint Presenter View to practice and present your PowerPoint speaker notes. This view also helps you as a presenter by showing you what's coming up next.

How to view your speaker notes in PowerPoint using the Presenter View.
The presenter view in PowerPoint is a new view that was introduced in PowerPoint 2010 and vastly improved in PowerPoint 2013 and PowerPoint 2016 to the point that if you are delivering presentations live frequently, it might be worth upgrading just to get access to this new view.
The presenter view not only allows you to present your slides on screen (as you normally would) but it also allows you to see what’s coming up next including:
* Your current slide (what your audience is seeing).
* Your next slide (so you aren’t caught by surprise).
* Your speaker notes (so you don’t forget anything important).
That way you aren't caught off guard by a slide you forgot about in the middle of giving your presentation.
On top of, that presenter view gives you onscreen navigation options, allows you to draw on your slides and use all of your other presenter view shortcuts as well.
To see how to open up 32 different presenter shortcuts with a single shortcut, check out my other TH-cam tutorial below:
• 32 PowerPoint Shortcut...
To see how to using your shortcuts to draw on your slides, check out my other TH-cam tutorial below.
• How To Draw In PowerPo...
The Presenter View shortcuts are similar to the Slide Show shortcuts making it easy to learn both.
Your slide view shortcuts are:
* F5 - to start your slide show from the beginning
* SHIFT+F5 - to start your slide show from your current slide.
* ESC - to return to the normal PowerPoint work-space view
Your Presenter View shortcuts are the same as your Slide Show shortcuts, you just have to throw in the ALT key:
* ALT+F5 - to start presenter view from the beginning
* ALT+SHIFT+F5 - to start presenter view from your current slide.
* ESC - to return to normal PowerPoint work-space view
I constantly use these shortcuts when practicing, presenting and spot checking my slides for errors, and you can too.
For example, maybe your tweaking the formatting or alignment of the objects on your slide (hopefully using your keyboard shortcuts).
After making a few adjustments, instead of relying on the small window to see if everything is right, you can instead jump to the Slide Show View of the Presenter View to see what things look like.
If things aren’t right, simply hit ESC to return to the normal view, make your adjustments and again use your shortcuts to jump back to the full screen view to double check your work.
Once you are in either the presenter view or slide show view, you can also jump back and forth between the two views using a hybrid shortcut.

Can I use the Presenter View if my pc is connected to a projector via USB cable?
thanks mate
Glad it helped
yeah it worke @@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining
I can't get it to work on my computer, it just become FULL screen on the one option that lets me select "use presenter view" Do I need to plug in the hdmi? How can I practice without a second monitor??? My friends can do it, but I cannot.
How do you use extended view when connected wireless to Spson projector instead of mirroring - using PP. Also its an Apple. Thanks
You will need to extend your screen instead of mirroring it... that will allow you a window onto the monitor you want it on. I'm not exactly sure how to set that up on a Mac but it's definetely possible.
how do you get the slide and presenter notes to appear at the same time. I do not want to see the next slide when I am presenting this slide. So for slide 2, I need to see the notes of slide 2 not slide 3 notes.
Hi, thanks for the video. I cannot get right mouse button + R to work. Can you explain exactly where you press it?
In the Slide Show view, just right-click anywhere on the screen and hit R (assuming you are on a PC). In the Presenter View, you need to right-click on the screen that the audience can see (the big one on the left). Let me know if that solves it for you.
I right click, then press r and I get a beep. Is this command language dependent?
Yes, it depends on the language. You can check what key you need to press in stead of R. If you rightclick look at the character that is underlined in the 7th command (in Dutch for example:"Weergave voor presentator verbergen" with an underlined "w". So I have to press the "w" in stead of the r.
Thanks for helping out Saskia! I didn't even think about that. Super helpful, thanks!
Saskia has you covered on the dutch keyboard. See her insider tip below. Hope that solves your issue.
Has anyone tried this with quickshare? Not sure if that also will count as an additional screen
I have not, so if that is a solution, please let me know.
Looking for help. When I am in Presenter view, the icons on the lower left of the screen show up on the projected view. How can I keep that from happening?
Great question Robert. I believe you just need to turn that feature off as follows:
1. File tab
2. Options
3. Advanced
4. Unselect "Show popup toolbar"
Give it a shot and see if that works for you.
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining I guess I should add, I am using a Mac computer. I do not see the commands that you are giving me. I appreciate your help.
how do you work this on apple tv
I'm not sure how this would work on an apple TV. My guess is the Apple TV will just mirror your computer instead of extending your screen as a second monitor (which is how you would normally do this with a two monitor setup).
Super like
Thanks for the comment, glad it helped! If you ever need to present AND edit your slides at the same time, check out my other video (another cool trick). Link here: th-cam.com/video/hkshwBJT9No/w-d-xo.html
Hello plz can you help me it says to sign in microsoft office produck key but when i m putting my email its going directly online and not powerpoint on my home screen plz help
Hi laura, I'm not sure what is happening. I would recommend uninstalling MS Office and then reinstalling it. Normally, as soon as you start to install MS Office it will ask you for your product key right away, not after the fact. Sorry I don't have better advice for you this one.
Is this the secret channel of @NuxTaku?
You sound like Nux doing his serious voice.
P.S. This comment was made in effort to get more traffic to your awesome channel, I hope Nux will see that and acknowledge his voice double.

Glad you enjoyed the video!
how to read your notes during the presentation?
Your notes should be in the lower right-hand corner of the presenter view, no? Or do you mean, you want PowerPoint to read the notes out loud? If so, that is not a feature that is currently available.
Nice vdo
Glad you liked it!
Is this possible in google meet?
If you have two different monitors it should be. You would push presenter view to one monitor and have your Google Meeting in another web browser on your other screen. You will have to play around with opening a few windows to see if it works.
It works, but when I do it with the shapes, the shapes don't appear.
Edit : Never mind, It works now!
Thirty seconds of content padded out to last 6.42. The presenter is obviously aware of this as he implores the viewer not to skip to the end.
doesnt work alt + f5
Try Alt + Fn + F5 and see if that works. My guess is you have your function keys reversed (so that your media keys are the main function).
To see how to switch them, see my article here: nutsandboltsspeedtraining.com/powerpoint-tutorials/function-keys-not-working/
@@Nutsandboltsspeedtraining I just want to say, how much of a legend you are! Thank you!
So fast...
Too fast, Speak slowly it will be more comfortable.
Thanks for the feedback, I've been working on slowing down in my most recent videos.
U talk too much, I just wanted to know how to get to presenter view
