Heat mats are not a good heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce IRA and IRB like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin. You generally don’t need to purify tap water. Tap water is generally safe on its own but it can depend on the region. You can also use spring water. To sterilize wood you can bake it in the oven. A 20 gallon long is the bare minimum, 40 gallons or bigger is strongly recommended. Front opening is ideal but not completely necessary. There are many types of enclosures you can use (glass, wooden, PVC, plastic bin, even a grow tent). And yes, you need to gutload their feeders.
I don't plan on ever getting anymore pets I already have for RES and 2 dogs so no more pets but I just love ur vids so y not it's good to know. Leopard geckos are my favourite gecko species. Theyre easy to care for, beautiful, so cute, and pretty ok with handling🥰 when I first discovered them I thought their tails were kinda weird and I want sure I like it haha, but I think it's funny because that's one of my favourite part of them now😂 their tails are beautiful and soft and really unique, my gecko has a little heart shape on her tail, I love it! And I think it's soooooo adorable when they bask and do little pancakes/sploots to soak up the heat or uvb
do you need a uv light if your gecko gets sunlight for example I have two pretty big windows I keep open and its easy to tell when it night and day so would it be necessary ? ps the gecko won't be hit directly by the sun but they'll be placed somewhere where you can still tell if its night or day
NEVER and i repeat NEVER buy your geckos or pets from petco they do not take care of them well I suggest you look at some clips on yt. i got mine from petsmart and he was very healthy so I would say buy one from petsmart

I’ve attempted to tame him but he darts across the Viv every time. Should I leave him for a few weeks then continue the taming, or just persist until he calms down. It’s a 2ft Vivarium at 30 degrees Celsius. Thank you. Great videos!😁
Start slow by just placing your hand, but not trying to grab him. Gradually build up to him walking on your hand, then picking him up, etc. Feeding by hand and stuff might help as well! :)

unless it's a small baby, i'd say no. honestly, even 20 gallons is a bit small imo for an adult leo. mine is in the equivalent of a 40 gallon breeder and he def uses all the space

Hoku was from a small breeder on instagram! diamondbacks are a little harder to find so you'll have to do some searching :)

Still get a UVB light. Arcadia’s shadedweller is good.

Not that i am aware of. Leopard geckos are pretty common and im 95% sure that there are no restrictions on owning them anywhere in the us.
