Rest in peace, my little friends. Thank you for all you've been to me and done for me. I'll miss your cute faces and your silly antics, but your memories will always be here.

After losing pets despite my best efforts and heart being in the right place, I’ve blamed myself for a long time. This video reminds me we are only human. Important reminder for me, so thank you again.
So I hear of axolotl deaths down here in Florida even with chillers installed. It gets really humid here and usually the deaths occur due to the house itself not being well insulated. I wouldn't dwell on should've and could've. It's hard...I know. We dealt with a lot of losses last year as well, the biggest being my son's cat who was attacked by something and we had to put him to sleep back in August. It was and still is hard...

I am so sorry you had to go through all of that. You have been a godsend in helping me care for two red, eared sliders that the owner was going to dump into a pond. Everyone that sees these guys says they’re spoiled; I say no, they’re not they’re being cared for the way they should be cared for. Thanks to you, they got brand new Fluval filters when Petsmart had them at 40% off on their black Friday sale. You have helped so many people.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious pets 🤍. Ive never seen you on TH-cam but I just lost my two favorite chickens in a start dog attack so I think the algorithm brought me to you. It's so hard to give pets everything they need. There's so much that can go wrong. Sending hugs.
You will find your milksnake one day, I believe it!!! One day my Nile Monitor escaped on an outside cage due to a Racoon attack, he was such a sweetheart, loved being handled, never bit anyone, such a cuddleball, I was heartbroken. I believed he was dead due to the racoons or got away… one day after coming home in the driveway my brother asked when did I buy an Alligator 😭 I was like “wut?” And there he was a full year later, sadly he was almost the same size, probably didn’t find enough food for a fantastic growth but I treated him to parasites and gave him lots of food.
This is every pet keeper’s worst nightmare. I’m so sorry, I’m lost for words. Sending you love and comfort during this difficult time to process.
My turtle of 27 years has been sick for a while and I think my other turtle was bullying him without me knowing. Its really hard because he had never had any issues until I introduced the female turtle as I saw he was doing the mating dance and tried to incorporate them safely with a lot of over sight but after a while of adjustment I added them together and it wasn't until I noticed his change in behavior that I saw that i needed to separate them. I feel aweful but they are both still alive but not doing well as they could. It hurts my soul that I can not protect them and keep them 100 percent healthy but sometimes things happen that you can not control. Wish you all the best in your turtle adventures.

Back in September, I lost my favorite pet duck. His name was Donald and he only lived 2 years. He had some type of sickness but we didn’t know what it was. I had no idea how I was going by to recover from that tbh. I am really sorry for your losses ❤
Sorry for you losses but as a long time snake breeder I can tell you I've found quite a few escaped snakes inside the fridge and also you can set an ft on a heat mat (thermostat of course) under a cabinet etc. somewhere hidden. Milk snakes are very hearty snakes.
I mainly keep marine and tropical fish, and 1 red eared slider turtle. I’ve have about 5 of my favorite saltwater fish have died, and I can not find any cause of it. One was a diamond watchman goby, he used to come to the front of the aquarium every time I walked by hoping for me to feed it. I could tell for a couple days he wasn’t acting normal, then he was gone. It’s a freaking bummer.

I feel your pain I really do for I myself have lost 2 dogs and close to my entire cat army which I have 6 left and a fish and a gecko but worst of all I've lost my grandmother who passed away to liver disease and if I don't change my ways I would suffer from the same thing but I have started to change my ways today but if I didn't change my ways I would be dead in a year so I've suffered a lot and when I saw this video it made me feel sad for you and what you've been through so with that said I Optimus Prime send this message to those out there that life is hard and that we must face every challenge that life throws at each and every single one of us and we must face them head on.

Sorry for your loss. I have lost 3 pets over Thanksgiving. Was out of town for 2 weeks and 2 days before I returned, 2 of my finches and 1 rare male juvenile day gecko I've raises died. No idea how they died, probably poisoned by something, somehow. It's never easy, especially one's you raised from hatchling, like the gecko.
Im so sorry for your losses. It's hard to lose a member of the family. I lost my red eared slider in september. We were together for 29 years. I miss him every day. All we can do is look back on the good lives we gave them and hope they knew how much we cared for them.
I had 2 Sugar Gliders. Riley passed away, and Jack jack got loose from the cage, and I never found my him again. It killed me, and every day, I wondered if he would pop up. It's terrible not to know! I'm so sorry for your losses. I know what you're going through and it sucks.

First of all, thank you. This video could not have come at a better time. These past 2 weeks have been some of the worst for me after losing my map turtle Gamera somewhere in the house. I too tore everything apart looking, in between breaking down and sobbing over the guilt of not being a better pet owner. I had also raised him from a hatchling, and I haven’t been able to forgive myself for his loss. With the severe winter weather and now my pipes freezing, I’m starting to lose hope that he’s still alive, which is tearing me apart. Hearing about your losses and the grace you’ve given yourself for making mistakes has reminded me that we all make them, and as much as this hurts, it brings me comfort to know I’m not so alone in this. Thank you again. I’m so sorry you had to go through this, too. 😢

My 25 year old red eared slider, "Tortul", just passed yesterday, lost my 14 year old dog two years ago, it hurts so much so i understand...

Even when we do our best and work hard to give them the best life possible, but life is fragile and something can still go wrong. Prayers your way that your're encouraged by your community :)
That's rough. I'm glad you took the time you needed to process your loss. I lost an elderly cat this year and had to work through the pain myself.

I’m so so sorry for your losses 😢 I just had to put my 16 year old dog to sleep 2 days ago, so I’m not sure I’m even strong enough to watch this video right now. I remember a few years ago your video about losing Nemo really devastated me, and when my gf at the time called me that afternoon I couldn’t keep from bawling; she thought something had happened to me personally! So I may wait awhile to watch this. But please know that your pain will subside someday and you’ll be left with just the happy memories of your time with your pets. You’re an incredible pet owner and you do way more than any average person does to both give yours a good life, and educate others about how to do the same! I had a six foot black snake get out of a cage and I tore the house up as well. About three weeks later a neighbor found it in a tree across the street. I have no idea how it got out of the house.👍🇺🇸

RIP, with loss comes something new albeit difficult emotionally. When my 20 year old slider Tama had to be put down, I came home the next day to an empty tank and said no no no, this needs life. I went that rainy day in 2020 to adopt 2 new sliders Hiro and Zero Two! I still miss Tama today, how could I not, I raised him from a baby, but the 2 who took his place in the tank are doing very well. Wish you well and look forward to meeting the new members of TTG fam

What a bummer 😕 losing pets is the worst. Don't give up on your snake tho! I have a milkshake and Ive lost her 3 separate times. Once for 2 months. I found her curled up in a box in my closet 👌 so they find the weirdest places to go.

Your milk snake video is how I found you. I’m so sorry for your losses, I’m sure the milk will show up, she’s most likely still in the house. People have lost milks/kings for out to a year and found them. I’ve personally lost corn snakes for weeks and weeks and found them. Don’t give up hope! Keep looking! It may seem Tiring and in vain, but trust me, if you didn’t look absolutely 110% everywhere possible or not seemingly so, you can keep looking. Inside furniture, beds, shoes, the trash before you take it out, even inside vacuum cleaners or inside the walls.
If you don’t know what you’re doing and your home isn’t adequate to house your animals you should either do some research and create a home environment that can support a healthy and happy life for your animals. To not offer them air conditioning and the correct shelters and environment is abusive. I think you know that you may love the animals but you’re not taking care of them correctly. Please do better because now that you know better you HAVE to do better! I wish you success and knowledge

Its gonna be ok. No matter how good anyone is they gonna die, escape, and bring chaos. My wife woke up to a 12" snapping turtle in her lounge chair once....Fun.
One bad thing about buying pets is the disconnect with nature. I used to want very specific cool and exotic things, read dangerous teen male lol
Now I have 3 grand daughters. Every reptile I've kept this summer came from our yard. And I keep them mostly outside, also very hot here.
I have a female common garter caught gravid that just gave birth a few weeks ago. Over 20 but only 10 made it. I think I'm partly to blame I thought it would be Sept or later to give birth so maybe letting the kids hold her too close to time.

Sorry for your pet losses.
It's scary how agile turles can be and escape. We had what we thought was an escape proof tank for our two red eared sliders. Turned out that they figured out that when the other was basking, they could climb up on back of the other and then reach the edge and pull themselves up and escape. Luckily the one that escaped survived the high fall from the top of the tank down to the floor with seemingly no injuries, and is still alive today 20 years after the incident. But with that said, never underestimate the agility of a turtle. 🙏
One of my baby diamondback terrapins just escaped his tank yesterday. He must have climbed out using the plants. Luckily, I found him on top of the canister filter lid. I'm shocked he doesn't appear to have any injuries either. I have no idea how long he was walking around. But he was dry, so he must have been there for a hot minute. Diamondbacks are land as well as aquatic, so being out of the water was not the problem. The fall was the issue as well as he could have fell off the filter lid too and been lost in the basement for good. We are Very lucky.
Live and learn! Plants were moved immediately, lid on tank, & water lowered even More than before.
So so sorry! All I have in life is my pets. So I'm overly attached to them. And love them dearly. So it's difficult to deal with, especially when you are just a compassionate person. I wish you nothing but the best and I hope you are filled with love and strength. ❤️💐
I feel your pain because when I was six years old or five, I had a fish that I forgot to feed and I didn’t even ask my parents to help me with the fish and I feel so bad and there is this fish that died because they overheated in the tank they had a heater in one day I just found him sitting there scaly and dead😢😢😢

You are amazing. You don't have to feel guilty, you're just a person and you made them safer than in the real world. People make mistakes and pets have an urge for the natural environment. Nothing lasts forever, although we forget that and keep being shocked about death. Also, you give great advice. I'm learning a lot from your videos. My turtle has 24 years old and is still in a 60 lt aquarium with no depth water, so I'm using your tips to build him a better one. Thank you very much for your content and keep going. I'm so sorry for your 3 losses.
I’m sorry for your loss. I feel this video so hard. I experienced my first fishkeeoing catastrophe a few weeks back. I was out of town for 3 days for Christmas and when I got home on the evening of Christmas Day I discovered that the air pump on my sponge filter had died at some point over half my fish had suffocated and died. The water in the tank was completely white, couldn’t see anything at all, and my gigantic Oranda goldfish Theodore was already decomposing, which means the air pump must’ve been dead for a while. The only thing that had survived were my 2 African Dwarf Frogs and a couple of the smaller schooling fish, but they were all just barely hanging on. I have managed to go over 2 years since getting into this hobby without a major incident like this. It sucked. A lot. I am very sorry to anyone who has to go through this, but honestly don’t beat yourself up, I almost feel like these kinds of incidents are inevitable, no matter how “on top of it” you are. Aquariums are very fragile ecosystems, they are like a house of cards, one card gets lightly touched and they all come down at once.

I had 2 black axolotls (Axel and Elton), and I lost one to moving stress trauma, and I can never get used to losing one of my sweeties , good old Elton John... it never gets easier when it comes to losing a friend.

Thanks for sharing this. I went through a really tough pet loss last year, and it wasn't my own dog but a family dog. It was my cousin's mixed terrier Peanut who I was really close to and knew her since she was a puppy. Her passing was her escaping my cousin's backyard & unfortunately a crazy driver in my area hit her. A few months after that, my cousin's family lost a cat Anakin due to health & he lived to 3 years. They had to give another cat away Bobbi because she was not in good condition and they didn’t put effort to care of her. The start of this year after coming back home from a fun event, my cousin's other dog Terrian pass away. He unfortunately got ran over just like his mom Peanut. Thanks to God I have gotten over the grieving stage with them all & overcome it over a year not but it is still strange at times to not see them all. Peanut was the hardest because it was before a special celebratiom & her passing didn't bring happy memories since it was how my first dog passed away. Seeing it in person the after effects really shaked me because it's a big fear I have & I grew attached to her. I still have her pictures & videos saved & it was touching to see that even my cousin's family saw how special our bond was. I haven't had & felt a pet & owner bond that strong since I was a child.
Big hugs. I'm very attached to family pets & in general so dealing with it as an adult was different & had its own. I was learning to grieve with God through these difficulties along with a family member who passed away last year too. A lot of crying but God really became my strength & still is who I go to let all my pain & tears out.

This recently happened this week one of my turtle died
You might remember me. I had a wild snapping turtle named Rufus and I wasn't sure if my bro was a bro or a Ruffett. Well Rufus died after 2 years. It was a difficult time at work. I was unable to concentrate on my dangerous job. Both Rufus and my mom passed away in the same month. However lucky I was with Rufus didn't work well with my next 3 purchased snappers. I gave them all a Viking burial. It's tough, but now I have 6 snappers that are thriving because I changed everything I did. Which makes me feel bad, because I should have done it sooner. But I always miss every day the ones I lost.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Yesterday I buried my pink bellied slider. I raised her for 7 months. She got stuck and drowned in a fake log that she would sleep in when she was the size of a quarter. I was at work and didn’t notice until I was home. Thank you for sharing. In a weird way, it helps me understand that I’m not the worst owner in the world. It happens to people like you who are wayyy more knowledgeable than me. Terrible accidents happen. I hope you are doing better. I hope I can. I’m not sure if I want another turtle, but a part of me wants to. I want to try again. But it’ll take time

I'm so sorry. Feel your loss. Don't think there's anyone who haven't experienced what you've experienced. Unfortunately that's something anyone who spends enough time keeping fish etc has to go through. Just search any "guru" on yt and you'll find that they've learned through mistakes.
I'm so sorry, but I'm not going to be so forgiving towards you. Owning pets is a full-time commitment. I suggest that if you have a lot of things going in your life, which is understandable... you are young! Please don't jump into Owning more pets. Change can be very stressful to pets. Pets are a long life commitment, and we have to make them prioritize them in our life. I'm sure with your busy life that you just weren't giving your animals the attention they required or that that they were used to. Just please don't keep animals if your time doesn't allow it!!! And that goes for everyone, not just you. I'm a turtle Mom myself. I couldn't forgive myself if I did anything to cause her harm or unprotected.
I respect the fact that you made this video. A lot of people wouldn’t make a video about something like this because hindsight is always 2020 and technically some of these things could’ve been prevented. Now please don’t take that the wrong way. I’m not bashing you in anyway although I’m sure there are people that would. Hopefully no one in your audience. I’ve had quite a few snakes and I’ve had several of them escape over the years. One good thing about it is, I’ve always found them. except one. So hopefully you will find your snake. It makes it worse though when you feel like you should’ve prevented it. And pretty much every one of my cases I didn’t really realize the snake could escape, but I felt like I should’ve realized. And sometimes you get busy and maybe put something off for a day or two thinking it’ll be OK and then it turns out it’s not. This can happen to anyone and it does not make you a bad pet owner, and it does not mean that you don’t care because you obviously do. Everyone has moments where a mistake can be made. What’s important as you learn from your mistakes.

My brother had monty the python we lost for a year in an apartment complex. We eventually found him in the neighbors walls. You Def could run across the sneke!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the snake shows up. Keep looking. I’ve lost a handful when I was first learning to keep them locked up and they show up months later, always. They don’t go far.
5 days ago.... that is so new and most dreadful feeling.. I feel for you honey... I lost 2 of my pet I the past year and I feel I still see my cat around time to time. 🥺 a brush when Noone is around. It's not the end and just know it's nothing you did sweet heart. Tears are pouring down right now typing this. It's heartbreaking and death is SO unknown so we all have different ways of dealing with it. One thing everyone has in comment it hurts.... bad... 😭 I'm so sorry. 😪 my cat of 15 years went downhill within a few days and I tried so hard to keep an eye on her and make her as comfortable as I possibly could. She didn't come back. I looked for weeks for her and I still havent found her. I really wanted to give her a proper burial and give her a beautiful forever resting place...I just canr find her.....🤧😪
I'm soo sorry *hugshugshugshugs* I too have just lost some pets back to back. No words really help, im so sorry! By making this video you gave them a memorial that we got to be part of too. I know it must be hard to pick "favourites" but some pets just touched our souls differently. PLEASE don't beat yourself up! You're one of the best pet owners I know! I am crying with you as I understand your pain
We gota do better in the pet community…. Rip that poor axolotl I wish I had one but they are outlawed here in California I would do anything it needs for it to be safe and okay , maybe you should give thought on rehoming your pets to someone who will know and do everything they need throve becase everything you’ve said sounded like poor husbandry /neglect I’m sorry I just have the Animals best interests.
