    I’ve been Roman for 11 years, but I have discovered the beauty of the Maronite Church for myself last year. I’ve been going to a Maronite parish and I intend to one day petition to transfer rites.

    I know people who would say that enclosed monks and nuns serve no purpose. I always tell them 'yes your completely correct, they serve no purpose. They serve GOD!'

    I am Roman Rite but love the Eastern Catholic Rites. SS Charbel and St Rafka pray for us. I would love to visit this monastery (I'm English and never even been to the USA!)

    Great to see the simplicity of the spirituality of Maron taking roots in the US. You are in our prayers.

    Fr. Michael, there is actually a place where nuns sit with our Lord in Adoration, for others. I forget the order, but I found it to be beautiful that each hour someone is with our Lord there. When I visit my parish' office and see via the security cameras, no one in the chapel with our Lord, my heart sinks, but then was told by the staff they send someone over to sit with Christ, which I was pleased with. High temperatures keep me from the Holy Eucharist, but once I can drive with things cooler (no a/c in car), I will go to the Verbum Spei monastery here in Boise to sit in their small adoration room with our Lord. Its quiet, and peaceful. God bless all you do, and in keeping our Lord company... I know He does not need us, but we Him. Man, do we ever need Him in these times.

    It would be a great consolation to know that the MMA will go back to saying the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in its traditional form as celebrated by Mar Charbel. What is stopping you since Our Holy Father, Benedict XVI has given permission to every priest to celebrate the Mass (in the extraordinary form).

    • @jesusacuna309
      @jesusacuna309 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Every roman rite priest may say the Tridentine or Novus Ordo mass at will. The Maronites have never said either. Mor Sharbel said the Qurbono Qadisho in the western syriac rite. It is significantly different from the roman rite.

    Are they in full communion with Rome? It seems there are some eastern orthodox. Rituals,

    • @franciscanfriars
      @franciscanfriars  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, they are in full communion with Rome, following the Maronite right which is the only Eastern rite that never left Rome. Although most other rites have groups within them that are in union.

    • @jesusacuna309
      @jesusacuna309 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not only did the Maronites never leave communion with Rome, most Eastern Orthodox churches have a corresponding Eastern Catholic Church, in full communion with Rome. They all follow their ancestral rites. The Syriac Catholic Church looks, smells, sounds and tastes like the Syriac Orthodox Church, but in communion with Rome. Likewise, there is the Greek Catholic Church, Russian Catholic Church, Coptic Catholic Church, Ethiopian Catholic Church, so on and so forth. The Catholic Church is more diverse than you may have believed :)
