For me one serious disadvantage of this utility is what it does to the BPM value of the patches. You may notice that when you change any parameter of any effect, the BPM becomes the default 120. The same happens when you Export/Import patches. I think it's something the creator of this utility didn't think about and it needs to be fixed.
Also should work with devices using custom firmware, which it doesn't, despite claiming to.

Isn’t it? I reckon the MS50G is waay underrated.
Have figured out the color codes used in the utility software? 1. Color on the left side of the main screen. 2. Color used for various effects on the screen where you select an effect.
adding a M-vave Chocolate MIDI pedal unlocked a Lot of functionality for the MS50G, makes it more useful for live use.

Very helpful to learn of this software editor! That‘ll be a godsend to me as I set up my brand-new MS50G. :-) The pedal, by the way, is looped into my acoustic pedalboard with an AB/Y switch so I can occasionally play a bit of electric guitar with some half-way-convincing effects, but without having the Zoom in my normal acoustic signal chain (which consists of very high-quality pedals that don‘t suck tone). In a pinch, the Zoom will also serve to add a bit of this or that to my acoustic sound in cases where certain covers would benefit from that, and where pristine sound quality is not the primary goal.

Great editor - But... I wish it would work with an iPad. The browser still says incorrect version of Chrome, not sure if there's a work around. Having an iPad connected would be nice for live toggling of effects.
Why not the G1Four?

Great video! This software is a Godsend for the Zoom MS-50G. It makes using it so much easier. Thanks for the informative video. Your patches sound great as well in every Zoom MS-50G video you guys have. Have you shared any of the patch settings for patches other than the two in this video? Also, I am interested in controlling the MS-50G via wireless midi. Do you know of a list of midi cc parameters? I'm pretty new to this pedal, and trying to get up to speed on using it as quickly as possible. Thanks for any assistance.
Can we scroll through the available effects easily with this application to add them to signal chain? It's tedious to do that on the pedal itself and wastes much effort!

Exactly why I'm here... the thing has knobs on it, and yet... they DON'T scroll through the effects. I don't see how 100% of people with this thing aren't complaining about that
how many different bank you can have to live gigs? like ( 1 is clean, 2 dist, 3 dist for solo)...

It has a noise gate built in! It’s a beauty too!
@@thepedalpicassos yes I know but I'm talking about the digital noise that always comes through. This is a known issue of these units
@@boimesa8190 ...I have the MS-50G and the MS-70CDR, with the MS-60B on the way, and there is no more perceptible noise than is typical with my other (boutique and non-boutique) digital and analog pedals.
@@niaralosusa do u follow the multistomp subreddit? Pretty well known issue when not using isolated power or batteries
Solutions to 3 possible problems
1. Line noise from the guitar pickups - Noise gate at the start of the effects chain
2. Noise created by using gain or distortion in the effects chain - noise gate after the distortion effects
3. High end fizz from high gain distortion settings - EQ. Either in the gain stages or a Multi band EQ at the end of the chain with the high end (above 10k) reduced to taste.

I use mine with analog fuzz/distortion and i think it sounds great (not with amp sims but i think they sound bad anyway)

Yes you can! You can have any individual effect on its own.

Hey mate 🇦🇺I have had the MS 50 G also for about 2 months now but TBH I've spent about half an hour with it and was a little put off by the fact that every inbuilt patch has a massive volume difference. Hopefully if I have a play with the recommended editor I can put it to good use but it seems I would also need to purchase a Scarlett or something similar so I can actually hear what I'm doing via PC before connecting the pedal back into a chain to belt through my 1960A + B Marshall stack correct? If so I assume I'm still gonna need to fiddle with levels? I can see the potential but from the start this pedal has frustrated me ... apologies for the book length comment. Cheers
The joys of multi-effects units! You will get a huge variety of signal levels because you can stack so many gain stages: boost, overdrive, distortion and then the amp and cab simulation. If you’re running into the front end of a nice valve amp, I wouldn’t use any amp and cab sim. You can use the editor whilst plugged into your amp (so long as you have your laptop close!)

You can also simply go through the installed patches and delete them all, then stay from scratch. You don’t need to plug a guitar in to do that.
They’re pretty gash anyway so it’s not bad advice for anyone staring out with this pedal (which is amazing btw)

I haven’t tried it with the G1Xon, but it is so similar to the MS50 that I would try it. I know the Tone Library software allows MS50 effects to be used on the G1X, so it’s probable.

This pile of garbage app won't load effects added with zoom effect manager -- they show up as being part of the pedal... but you can't use them. Worthless software
The pedal has more than 50 effects, why would this show you only 50??????? Why is every last person who designs software completely incompetent?????
