Beast of a car
Had a 1.2 classic panda swap, absolute shitbox of a car to look at as it was a work/farm vehicle but that thing moved when you put your foot down on or off road.
Thats why I drive a mk1 golf. 1.8 litre with 276 cam fuel management full exhaust. So much fun. My little go kart. Its a South African modern version of the mk1 called the citigolf. Last updated and then discontinued in 2009.
Definitely more hot hatches. No refinery or fancy gizmo's, just pure rawness and sketchy fun. Cars pretty much drive themselves nowadays. This is from bk when it was u who drove them. Love this 1 👍🏼

Being 52 yrs old, this car takes me back to the good days of tuning cars.
They were so raw, and wild.
My old Mk2 Escort with about 150bhp seemed absolutely mental compared to the 455bhp M140i I drive today.

This video genuinely made me smile. My mum had a nova throughout my childhood and it just brings back so many memories. I bought a nova GTE when I was able to and loved it. Great car not made like that anymore!!!
Had a Nove Gsi converted to a 2.0 16V back in 1998, made 196bhp on the dyno at Aldon Automotive and back then it was rapid in comparison to most things on the road, it also ran a 13 second quarter at Santa Pad at over 100mph. Great video as it brings back so many memories.

To be honest this is my favorite car you've featured on your channel. Don't get me wrong now all the other cars were great but this is my style. The 45mm carbs the sound the simplicity everything about this it has so much character! Love it❤️

My 1st car was a 1.4 Nova SR in champaigne silver. Absolutely loved that lil car! This brings some good memories back ☺ (and some of thinking I am toast if I crash 😂)
Ah the memories! Had a mate that had a couple of Nova SRs, XR2s, 205 GTIs and I owned a couple of GTEs (a 1.8 and a 2.0 16v Coscast) The 90s were full of cool hot hatches, Max Power n Fast Car and the shows they held. Great time.

To get that power in that back in the 80's would have cost a fortune. More 80's stuff please.. awesome ..
Not at all, you could get the 2.0 litre for pennies and it bolted straight in more or less! I built 2 Novas and the hardest part was running fuel lines and sorting out fuel pumps and tanks, everything else Vauxhall fitted easy. If I remember right you can drop the entire front end, roll bars, shocks, gearbox and engine by 15 bolts and unplug wiring and clutch and throttle cables and it out, same putting the 2.0 litre back. I swapped one over in one day on my own with a rope off the garage roof!

I bought my first nova back in 91, 2yr old 1.3 sr . Had that car off the clock many a time and it was so much fun. Ended my vaux ownership with a stripped out turbo corsa b.

Massive nostalgia trip! My very first car was a 1.2 Nova and back in the day my Dad had a gorgeous black Nova GTE from new.

The 90s Max power always had nova's then corsa's with astra gsi or calibra/cavalier turbo motors stuffed into them you don't see many of them kicking about now motor addicts are legends genuine enthusiasts

An old friend of mine called “Paul Salmon” (who’s sadly passed away) put a cavalier SRI130 engine in one of these novas. I’m 99% sure it had dual twin chokes, the car was red. It was probably 1994 or 95, he lived in Milton Keynes but spent a lot of time in Hemel. I was lucky enough to be passenger on a few occasions and it was mental. He made the exhaust from a daff lorry and was probably 4” or more, with a crazy back box also from a daff 😍
I’m 41 The Nova has to be one of my favourite cars of all time had about six of them ranging from the 13 SR to the 16 GTE when cars used to be cars don’t get it nowadays

Talking about the Renault 5 turbo, my mechanic who owns his own Renault specialist garage in Essex, owns a huge collection of Renault 5 and turbo models, it’s ridiculous.

Used to love the old nova's years ago,Had a few SRI'S AND GTE/GSI, great fun when you put in a old 2.0l Astra GTE engine in them.

Awesome car!!! I had a Corsa A with a 1.3 carb and a 4 gear box lowered 60/60 it was a driver's car a go kart very fun to drive.
I had almost the same car. Same swap but in a corsa b (vauxhaul nova b? From the country we still have petrol hahah..). Redtop lexmaul engine, just a beast!!!! The corsa b was a 1.3i but no money left for brakes and bracing. The car broke in half .... but this corsa a is awesome!

Rebuilt it in 98 with a 20k c20let and a few other tweeks, used to chomp at the heals of some pretty well tuned cossie's and scooby's!!!

Shame about using a Sport as they've gotta be pretty damn rare these days and the alloy airbox for the 1.3's 40DCOE's must be rare as rocking horse shit these days. Still a wicked little car. Makes me miss both my SR and GTE.
Brilliant content. Would love to see more 80's cars. Had a Nova as my 1st car but now own a corsa b with C20let calibra turbo engine (i know its 90s). Have had it for 13 years now. Cant part with it. Smiles per miles is exactly how i describe it to friends etc. Its raw unrefined power. Everything shakes/rattles. You know when youve driven it. Unless youve lived and owned cars through that period you cant truly appreciate it i dont think. Is such a shame there isnt more still about on the roads.
