As a parent, listening to the lady talk about the child asking for the potato cuttings brought me to tears the first time around and it did again listening to it here.

I'm so glad that I started listening to O'Brien this year. He is brilliant at challenging poisonous opinions by breaking them down to the base level, and he shows great compassion to sensitive topics and callers' predicaments. There needs to be more presenters like him around.
Just some words for encouragement from Australia. We've suffered endless decades dominated by tory liars, who like yours are now taking their cues from trump and maga. We finally got sick of the corruption (and it was nothing like as bad as johnson) and let Labor have a go. Calm your expectations, politics is politics, but at least hate isn't winning another day.

You don't have to do anything, the Thought Police still are as far as I know still not a thing (although we might be getting there 😏).
"Voting is not like getting married, but like getting on a bus that is going in the right direction". This is a brilliant analogy and unless there is a major issue represented by only one or two parties (e.g. Scottish/Welsh independence) that you believe in, then it makes clear the folly of voting for a party just because you have always done so or your parents did. People need to seriously scrutinise the policies of their local parliamentary candidates better.
recently discovered James and quickly saw how rationality is just absolutely gushing out of the guys face, you don't have to hear him speak for very long to become a fan 🤩
Hello johndewhurst ,,, during Jacob’s conversation with Mr O’Brien on James Radio show Mr Mogg allowed it to momentarily creep into the dialogue , of course O’Brien was immediately on it , ‘ Jacob that was originally used by the Sun Newspaper but they were forced to delete it “ because it wasn’t true , Jacob why are you still using it ? .
One thing that impresses me about Mr O'Brien is his ability to listen and learn. It's a quality I lack! But I have seen him take in information and adapt since being on this show and throughout his career and that is a quality that FEW of his colleagues possess. I'm not suggesting his stances or opinions are weak, but in terms of unconscious bias? He is an example of someone who is willing and able to evolve. There is hope for us all.
