Funny the differences between the U.K. and the USA! Here in the USA we call them “C” clamps and in the U.K. they call them “G” clamps! They do look like a G! So many differences to mention. I'll bet. Man, you said to me at the beginning of the GGBO 21 that guitar building is a slippery slope. I know you meant being a full time builder but I spent years of my life doing things I didn't love for a paycheck. Now at 53 I've finally discovered something that really lights me up internally and it's not about money or recognition, it's about putting your heart and soul into something for what that gives you in return. I get so much enjoyment out of all aspects of being a builder and a budding TH-camr. I really do have you to thank for that and I will never be able to repay your guidance and kindness. I can however say thank you and continue to support you in any way I can. See you in the morning my friend.

Nice edit! That became a whole new experience within the same content. The only one suggestion I would make is to record the streaming feed offline, so there is no degradation on the video quality.
we are recording straight to SSD as well as streaming, the overhead camera wasn't great though and has been replaced in preparation for tomorrows stream

I watched this live doing lego with my boys and I had it on again one day this week as I work from home instead of podcast/audio book. It felt both times were just like we were working all together. I look forward to what I do with the boys tomorrow. Here's to another10hrs of being creative 👍

That gives you that little bit more freedom to include more than 'just the build', the extralikable bits. Surely that's the type of content that got you those 300.000+ subscribers, and well over a thousand viewers at any given point during a full day stream. There is a big difference between getting a lot of views and truly building a community.

I was outvoted too! Bummer… Something bugging me, @Crimson Custom Guitars - I’ve been looking at neck blanks, and no matter what the wood type, about 95% of those I’ve seen are about an inch thick.. I want to make a fixed neck, is an inch REALLY deep enough? And yes, scarf and built-up heel, but I have my doubts. Ideally I’m after a ‘mahogany’ type to go with an ash body for a Guild S-300 ‘tribute’, as I’ve extrapolated measurements from a pic - getting a template from one you had in the students workshop didn’t happen.

Only suggestion is to show more of the poll results so that non-build livestream viewers have an idea of what Ben has been 'forced' to do. (I know it is likely that future builds will have a separate design/poll livestream, but the same would probably still be applicable.)
Yup, I had a similar thought with the repeat chat sitrep questions... On-screen overlays bulleting the winning decisions, or if that makes the vid edit messy, even a simple whiteboard or flipchart on the tool rack in the background would get new arrivals up to speed and returners up to date. Or do a verbal recap religiously every 30 mins, but I can imagine that getting tedious for Ben and all-day viewers. 🤔 Bulleting the decisions might visually flag up contradictions sooner too. Like voting for the top to be covered in aluminium, then an hour later voting for a gorgeous figured bit of wood for the top, that wouldn't be seen 🤦♂️🤨

It was nice to see a stepped fingerboard- it's been years since the Bond guitar! Is it a Crimson product?

I've done that before, all you need are a few grains of salt and you're golden. there is still a margin for error though so I will always default to a locating pin of some sort.
I don't know if I missed it, but what is the material you're sandwiching between the maple on the neck? Is it an ebony veneer (or some other dark timber) or some other material entirely?
Personally, I'm not a fan of the live-stream format. The last thing I want to see & hear are the opinion's of 299,000 other people. But, I will follow the build as always. Congratulations on the 300k! 👌👍
Hey Toni, thanks for letting me know.. I will certainly not be doing streams more than once a month, and those will also be edited into more standard build series/super edits for people who prefer this format.. I for one certainly wouldn't have time to spend watching a whole stream either tbh
sadly that is not going to happen unless we have a customer already lined up, whenever I have built left handed guitars on spec they have stuck around for years before finding their forever home..
and my daughters guitar at that! we just HAD to do something for hitting 300k subs and this week is moving the Tool Shop to Crimson HQ so not much, if any, filming done. however. I promise, I will be back to it soon!

What about a millennium falcon inspired guitar?
While glueing wood together and it slides on itself I find that if I sprinkle a little salt it seems to keep it from sliding. What's your thoughts?
