I watch Desolator rant about investors and how they don't enjoy the game and they're evil people, and then the next suggested video that auto-plays is an investor opening a $500 box of cards and jizzing himself every pack. Interesting community we live in.

Giles Chenery all he ever does is bitch in the videos I've watched. and contradict himself. one time he was bitching because he said an upcoming set would have zero value, nobody would want it, then in the same sentence also complained about how expensive the good cards are.

rudy you are forgetting all the value in the COMMONS from zendikar: disfigure, vines of vastwood, journey to nowhere, spell pierce, etc. those are ALL 1/1,5 dollars commons! spell pierce is even higher
Disfigure is 100% irrelevant since fatal push was printed.

I'm just here to laugh at the people who think the fetches being reprinted means they will lose value instead of gaining MORE value in the long run.
Ye pretty much. As long as Magic keeps growing and expanding as a game while also getting ex-players to return or come back, the value of all reprints will drop dramatically on release but over time (2-3 years) prices will creep up as long as the cards in question are still being used.
Yeah everyone saying that Timmy ot screwed cause of the reprints? Uh definitely not.. all that matters is that simple on the right my friends. That's ALL THAT MATTERS.
I mean obviously as an investor I dont expect you rudy to do unboxing every videos but when you do its very interesting because you price it for us and your knowledge of the price of cards makes it way better to watch then most unboxing videos! btw im still new to your channel and im just going through all your videos this is day 3 for me...

brings back memories of when I opened a box when the set was new and didn't get a single fetch in the whole box and no good rares....I literally took just the lands and left all the commons, uncommons, and rares on the table at the shop...and promptly quit magic for a few years

I was under the impression that the only way to ensure that the packs were first printing was if they were from a fat pack. The A in the serial number just denotes it as the first set in the block. (All Zen boxes were labeled A, all WWK were B, and all RoE were C). The first print run was almost certainly used up during Zendikar prereleases aside from fat packs.
Legend says Rudy's trousers felt like cardboard after this box opening. The art in this set is amazing, £450 a box though ouch...

Concerning the shrinkwrap, the reason why the WotC logos are not on the bottom half of the box is because the wrapper is loaded with two rolls of plastic. One roll is pre-stamped with the logos while the other is plain clear plastic. They load the top rack with the logoed roll and the bottom with the plain. There appears to be no reason to split in this way as it would seem appropriate to wrap the entire box 'officially' to help prevent tampering...though with my personal experience, I am sure cost plays into it as specialty wrap is likely a hell of a lot more expensive than the standard. Pinching pennies, I'd guess.

Checked prices on tcgplayer @ 10PM EST (GMT-5) March 1. Just looking at the rares, mythics, foils, and full art lands i count at least $330. Those fetches went a long way despite price drops from being reprinted.

Foil full-art lands weren't guaranteed one per box. Back when it first came out I opened easily 10 boxes and pulled 2 foil lands.

I remember Zendikar so well. It was the only time when I though buying a pack of these (when they were in print) was a no brainer. Nearly all were worth more than retail price pack. They soon dried up.

So I bought 2 of these boxes for 450$ a piece, thing is, I decided to only do 3 packs every Monday, that way I can look forward to mondays, thing is I want to open more, so I asked my room mate to get a lock box and get me 3 packs on Monday, so far so good...
