Al Pacino was like this as a young man. Always bumming off one gf or another.
You'd be surprised at the amount of well known men who were supported by their gfs (long since discarded of course) before they hit the big time.

A former social worker friend dated the most parasitic, dust mite adult male, years ago. He barely had a job but had two children by two women. All I can say is they are better than me because I REFUSE to take care of a grown man. I'm not an only daughter or the oldest, but I was thrown into the role of "caretaker/caregiver" daughter at a young age, but I got so tired of it, I could NEVER see myself willingly taking care of someone again, especially if they can take care of themselves. I've done it pretty much my whole life and it's just undesirable to me.
I also learned long ago that degrees don't necessarily make you smart. Not at all, but there is also just this desire to have a man no matter what and it drag some women down into the core of the earth when it comes to choosing men.

He was a truck driver and they were sleeping in the bed part of the 18 wheeler ( it was a refrigerated truck but had broke down and was too expensive for him to fix). I dont exactly remember what i said but I bought a room for them both for 1 or 2 nights (it wasn't much back then) and wished him good luck. I hoped that would be the end of our encounter but he kept calling me. I eventually blocked him but he still reaches out from different numbers. I assume it's bc he think I'm a sucker or he remembers how I treated his situation with kindness and didn't judge him. You deserve the person who will accept you exactly as you are so I’m going to let you go and find that person and work on myself”

1,000% my nex worked for the city of Houston but you would think he was a doctor with how proud he is for working for the city. His mom and sister did EVERYTHING for him. He couldn’t even go to the grocery store. The only reason he started going was because I talked crap to him about how pathetic he was. He slowly started going but even then he had to take his little sister, call me to make sure he was buying the right stuff, recording himself 🤦🏽‍♀️😖😭 shopping, then he’d pay his little sister to cook for him because I told him I wasn’t doing that 💩 for him anymore. I’m so embarrassed and ashamed! But honestly this 33 year old “man” has SO MANY women up in his phone giving him attention and he specifically dates/goes after older women. One woman went through his phone and found my number and called me and we talked (longggggg story) and he was living with her. He NEVER told me that. We got in contact again because he was trying to play both of us this past holiday, so I reached out to her and sure enough he was asking both of us to go out of town with him etc. We were going over everything again and she told me how he was living with her and everything when he came back to me! I was like wow not once did he mention to me that he had been living with you!!! It’s embarrassing this behavior I put up with and being a pickmeisha and Barbara the builder! Back then I didn’t know those terms but that was me. Even writing it out it is so embarrassing like my self esteem was that low I was dating a “man” who still lives at home, his mom wakes him up and packs his food, cooks dinner for him, cleans his bedroom, washes his clothes and puts them up. He does NOTHING.. absolutely NOTHING! Thank God for Shera and Princella cause it wasn’t until I found them that I woke tf up. I couldn’t figure it out on my own.. like that’s sad in and of itself that I needed to be told I was dealing with a dusty, momma’s boy!!!
It’s sad that my self esteem was so low that I was flattered that he gave me attention! EMBARRASSING! These are the type of men that you should be embarrassed about and not even mention… cause I’ve heard Shera say that.. like ma’am if a dusty is giving you attention, you don’t even take that into consideration because women will say, “Shera I get checked out all the time, but they’re men I don’t want,” and Shera even says that.. well if its dust that continues to hit on you or check you out then you’re doing something wrong.. either you need to change your looks, or go to a different neighborhood because if a dusty man is checking you out or hitting on you IT MEANS NOTHING!

Hmm, he probably following the male 101 playbook: be persistent and trying to wear you down. 1 Limit communication: if you have a hard time saying no to giving out your phone number...get a free Google number); if you missed this, you can set his phone number to a different ringtone option...so you can ignore it easier. 2. Get a life: have plans, schedule things, be busy. Sleep and exercise counts. You cannot get caught up when you have other things on your mind. 3. If you are really bold: give him jobs. It could be research or anything really. Most men want a woman that will work for him, if he find that he is working overtime for her he will usually lose interest for another woman that requires less effort.

It is also classist at a time when the wealthy are dominating the class war so hard that the billionaire president and his billionaire cronies are openly planning to raise working class taxes while lowering taxes on the wealthy and cutting programs, job protections, and healthcare access.
Blaming poor people for being poor when the ownership class is using the power of government to make things nearly impossible for a lot of people is certainly a choice.
