I wonder if you find it as interesting as I do that I am getting the same reaction from you here as I get from misogynists in the "Andrew Tate wannabes" comment sections when I'm critical of their poor language choices and over generalization of people under the guise of intellectualism.
Financially exploiting a romantic partner is not the same as being unhoused and there is no need to punch down at the least powerful in society to make your point.
@@rejectionisprotection4448 it matters because if we are talking about actual unhoused people it is different than if we are talking about people who seek to financially exploit others.
I tend to think that context and facts matter as do the words we choose to describe what we are talking about.
@@kidomniman8635 I have to agree: context and the words we use to describe that context are quite important. I took the OP to mean men who don’t have a living place of their own. (maybe they’re staying with family, sleeping on a cousin’s sofa, or living in a van.)
Somebody please correct me if I’ve misread the room. Are we talking about underachievers? Grifters?
Because, by definition, If he’s living in her house, he ain’t homeless
😮😢
I honestly couldn't care less. It's probably just because I've been homeless before myself, but being homeless does not make one less able to love and be a good partner. This is classist.
Men are expected to be perfect partners. Women are allowed to be homeless. This is why I'll never date
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 It sucks for both in different ways, but this is absolutely an instance of a double standard where men get the short end of the stick. Honestly, I'm so sorry to you guys. This isn't fair at all.
@@bespectacledheroine7292 I'm sorry you were homeless
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 Thank you. I was very lucky all things considered, it was only for about six months and I was in a car. Everyone is much closer to homelessness than they believe, so I hope they accept their undateable status after it happens to them.
It is also classist at a time when the wealthy are dominating the class war so hard that the billionaire president and his billionaire cronies are openly planning to raise working class taxes while lowering taxes on the wealthy and cutting programs, job protections, and healthcare access.
Blaming poor people for being poor when the ownership class is using the power of government to make things nearly impossible for a lot of people is certainly a choice.
People also date women in housing programs. Those are people who would be homeless but are given options and social funding. I sure wish that existed for everybody...
De centering men or reinforcing the patriarchy? Lol.
Housing programs do apply to males . What are you making up &deflecting for here
@@cookingwithsilenceIt’s available to parents. Have custody of your children and you’ll have all the access to housing programs you need. Childless women get exactly the same access as men do to “social programs”, which is probably why they refuse to be chronically unemployed.
@@celesteadeanes4478 do they?... do they now? I can name several California counties that haven't had their waiting list open up in years, and yet names keep getting added from the battered women's shelters (shelters that will accept you based on your identity even if you haven't been battered). Unfortunately there's no way through that threshold for any other life form on this planet.
@@celesteadeanes4478 some of these people out there are victims. This description is disgusting. Vile. Classist. Piggy.
ummm sorry... there were sonnet's, poetry, and many many many points of evidence of romance that are thousands and thousands of years ago
And they were always essentially fairy tales, back then too
@@kylaarmstrong-benjamin8066 But that doesn't change the point.. Romance and love have been in humans since the beginning. Stating that it's only been around for a short time is incorrect
Romance, in its modern form, does originate with the French.
@@Smw006 So you're saying, a small slice, curated to fit the idea being pushed accurately fits romance, love, commitment, and all the other associated things?? uhh, I disagree completely, sorry :D
@@DrkDragn As you become more antiquated with history and other cultures, you'll come to understand that the concept of romance Shayna is discussing is French in origin.
