Back before there was such a great ability for the public to know about their finances and see how they live. These days if the royal family walked around in that many jewels, the people would have a royal fit, as it were

A granny in Australia says...Hi dear Rebecca xx With the world in a mess (bloody Putin, horrid weather all over, my terror for the UK with winter looming); it is 7.15pm on Sunday 16 October, and I have spent most of the weekend in bed, well under the doona watching rot interspersed with wonderful tiaras, and other jewels. Thanks for the joy of your videos, and thank God for beer!

The history of the items themselves, their stories and travels, are the best part. Like the Hand of Vecna being attached to Arkhan’s stump, these items fascinate and captivate our attention. 😍💕👏

@@jaybarrows2526 Cullinan 5 is heart shaped, and I am pretty sure that you will see it in the crown of Queen Camilla on May 6th. It is really a brooch, but quite adaptable. The Royals always referred to it as the Queen's "happy brooch."

My maternal grandfather had the pleasure and honour of cutting many stones for the Royal Family between 1919 to 1951. Papa as we called my grandpapa, was a professional precious stone cutter until his death in 1981, as well as serving in the Armed Forces from 1917 to 1950. He knew H. M. King George VI from when he was the Duke of York and they corresponded until the King's tragic young death at 56. Grandpapa and His Majesty were exactly 8 months apart to the day. Grandpapa was born 14 April 1895 and His Majesty was born 14 December 1895. R. M. S. Titanic hit the iceberg on grandpapa's 17th birthday and my mum was born on H. M. King George VI's 39th birthday in 1934. I have all the correspondence between the King and grandpapa in a fire proof box. I'm donating it to the Royal collection along with cut and raw gemstones given to my grandpapa from the King. I have one Emerald that the King gave to my mum as a child that I'm keeping. It's a fantastic square 8.75 Carat Emerald. God Bless King George VI!! I miss my Beloved Queen Elizabeth II even after 2 years since her death. God Save King Charles III!! 🇬🇧
    Dr.G.😊

Most of it has been passed down through the generations since the Stuarts. Some belongs to the crown, and some are personally owned through personal gifts or personal inheritance. Rebecca did a great job of mentioning the origin of each piece, except for the pieces that weren't seen often & the origin wasn't easily found. There was a big box of large emeralds that Queen Mary's paternal grandmother actually won in a raffle for the price of a ticket. They are called the Cambridge Emeralds and are personally owned. They have been used in many pieces of personal jewelry.

The jewels of Queen Elizabeth 11 probably now loss some of its value because a mistress turned Queen Consort already wearing it. Probably it will regain back their value when Catherine will wear them when she will become Queen Consort. Get well soon princess.
