    Molly!! LOVED this vid. You are so genuine and I love that you’re a “regular” person setting out to achieve a major goal. You make it seem possible for anyone!     Your husband, family and friends must be so proud of you!! Really appreciated your talk on FT athletes/social media influencers, and it’s easy to forget that they have all day to focus on exercise, stretching, nourishment and rest. I sometimes overdo it because I have to run and also walk my dogs (if my run is too long or too busy of a route for them), so it can be a lot to tackle, as well as work. Seeing how you juggle life is quite grounding. You’re doing amazing. 💪🏻

    1) Love hearing our different definitions of a "cold" run! I'm up north and the temp didn't get above 0F today so I was on the treadmill
    2) The JarJar shirt fully distracted me from how painful my tempo run was 😂

      I don't have a treadmill so i had to run 5 miles outside at -10 today (Wisconsin).

      ​@@Katie-iz6fhOh my gosh! I'm in MN and got a gym membership just to avoid having to do that. I'll run in single digits if it's not windy but that long of a run in negatives is crazy!

    I’ve been watching your videos while I run on the treadmill and I really enjoy them. Makes it pass by so much faster :) It’s always interesting to see people‘s tolerance for cold. I would love a 29° day. It’s been around 10 or 7° here in WV haha. I didn’t get to finish the video yet and I haven’t watched your whole training series but is your 100 mile race a trail or a flatter path race? Also, have you tried honey stinger waffles? They taste SO good to me mid run, and very easy to chew, unlike a cliff bar. Anyway, it’s definitely a goal of mine to one day in the (far) future to run a 100 mile race so I really love watching your vlogs!!

      Oh my gosh that is SO cold!!! My tolerance for cold is pretty low after living in Texas for so long, but it is SO interesting to see how that changes -- I studied abroad in Denmark during college and got so used to the cold, I was wearing a light jacket in 30 degree weather by the end of it haha!
      I loooove honeystinger waffles, I will definitely be bringing those with me for the race!! And it is a trail race, but it's a relatively flat course and not technical at all!

    Jar Jar! 😁 I never realized the top of his eyes before you can see his nose area pretty much is octopus-looking! I love octopi, too.
    Ooo, if you ever have the time to teach us, what is the recipe for that cooked farro/farrow? I was making a cold "salad" with it before the cold snap here (hitting lows in the teens this week and it's rough)! I have NO idea how you are 1) running in the cold 2) during the start of your cycle! Cold makes my body get very sore when it's my first few days. You are a CHAMPION. Do you plan your races/ultras around your cycle or do you just hope for the best?
    Anyway, the cold farrow recipe I will go back to when it warms up is: 1.5-2 cups farrow, wrinsed before and after boiling it (wrinse in cold water after to speed it up the cooling), add chopped: cherry tomatoes, cucumber (remove seeds, avocado, red onion, then add wrinsed (and I shell them to reduce gas) a can of chickpeas, juice of one squeezed lemon (on the side bc you don't want those seeds sneaking in), plus a dash of EVOO (I go with light taste), and a wee bit of salt. Toss together and eat on it for a few days! So yum!!
    Where/how do you find a coach and running mates? You really don't need to defend/explain your own, personal training-pooh on anyone talking their high-and-mighty to you! I bet anyone who has actually ever RUN 100 MILES wouldn't ever judge another 100 mile "fellow runner", so. 😉 But at the same time, that part was encouraging and a good mental reminder to lock away for when it comes up to any of us.
    Saw your short that Austin has hills-sweeeet! 🤙And what a cool hat in that shot when you're eating your eggs. 😍

    I am super appreciative of this video! I have been turning over moving to ultras in the next few years, or sooner, so I like learning the ins and outs of the process from another woman's POV, bc it's different for us just biologically. THANK YOU. 🥰 I probably has missed it in the past, but what brand are your amazing looking sunglasses that have that incredible coverage and color?
    Do you stay on pavement the whole way or do you break off onto grass or something "trail-ish" to give your feet a break? I know someone training for their first 40-miler (it's not me 😁 ), and they are concerned about how their feet will feel bc the entire route is paved.
    Grocery hauls are always fun! Sometimes what I see reminds me of something I haven't had in a while bc...the idea has just been evading my brain but I really like the food still and it's almost exciting to remember it, haha. Jotting down Caroline Chambers to look up. Olivia Adrians, too, ok. Mmm, dates are my "fruit candy". 😋 You are certainly mainly on the whole food train and total deprivation always backfires.
    Ooo, church, books, and rest sound really nice. Ahhh. 😌

      Recipe is from Caroline Chambers substack! I pay $5 a month for it and it's sooo worth it -- we pretty much only cook recipes from her now!!
      I don't usually plan around my cycle, but I definitely did consider when it would be for this race!! That would just be too rough for me haha so it was 100% a factor in which ultra I picked!
      All my good friends who are runners I've met through social media, which is sooo cool!
      Luckily the trail I run isn't all pavement, it is way more soft dirt than pavement! Running 40 miles on all concrete will definitely be tough, but they can do it!!!

    Thank you so much for your video. Your tips are helping me. I am running my first ever half marathon in May. One thing I am confused about is what drink to carry in the vest. I only have one bladder so should I carry water or Electrolytes? They have water/Electrolyte stations so I wasn't sure if I should carry the water and drink Electrolytes at the stations or vice versa? I also don't like the gels so I was thinking your Cliff bars were a good idea and maybe something easy to pop in my mouth like mini muffins?

      I personally don't run half or full marathons with my vest because I just rely solely on the drink stations!! But water vs electrolyte water is totally up to you and whatever works best for you! you've got time to test out a few things and see what really works for you!!!
