Could you please tell me how you manage to slide the right side fairing back into place? I've been trying for 2 hours with my bike and have had no luck. I cannot get the 2 tabs at the front of the mid fairing to slide into place. Thanks.

We’re those OEM fairings? I’m looking for that matte black/grey look for my r6. Any aftermarket recommendations?

I’ve noticed even with all screws removed it’s like it still does not want to come off. It looked like when you pulled it made a pop. I fully understand the top front part but is there something in the rear area that is fastened by some kind of friction post that pops out?? I was only partly disassembling mine due to the previous owner not having the front tabs in right and was able to fix it without fully removing the whole piece. Just looking for info for future reference. My R1 fairings are so much easier.

Just bought a 2007 R1 (same plastic as a 2008) and this thing is a PITA! I have some Allen/Zeus bolts, plastic push-pins, and regular Allen bolts. For plastic, both red and black side panels, the upper black cowl plastic above the fender, the lower "V" , then of course the other side (rh) if you need to drain or fill coolant. Not to mention the red bottom cowl if you want most of it out of the way. This still is not counting the side panels near the ram-air ducts if you ever need to get under them! I think it's a beautiful bike, but maybe should have bought an old FZ1 instead!
What year is your R1 that is so easy to work on?

Poor lil iron. . Little did it know that after this it would be stripped of its upgrades and pimped out lol.

The only thing it was stripped of was it's seat and swingarm bag, lol. Whoever bought it got everything else.

Every piece that came off popped and I thought you broke it. Always scares me when I work on these plastic parts.

Really? Far from it. I DIY / make a "How To" videos out of pretty much anything I do to the bikes, doesn't matter which bike. See the playlists.
