out of all the gundam styles i've seen, the designs in iron blooded orphans have always been my fave.

Same, they make so much more sense from an engineering standpoint. Having a base frame that can be customised form there to suit the needs or the mission by use of armour

Ikrr, one thing i dislike abt the FM and HG line of IBO kits are the knees, they look ugly, the thigh looks so small and when you pose them it just looks weird

I hope to god that when the mg lupus rex inevitably comes out, they find a way to make the claws colour accurate. I know it can be done, and i know multiple ways to do it. Pre-posed hands. Perfect grade style hands. Individual claw pieces. There's a lot of ways, and i hope they do one.
im waiting for that to come out, thats the only version kit of Barbatos i want.

the way the Barbatos becomes less "human" in proportions and more animalistic in form seems to represent Mikazuki's change from season 1.

I think it represents Barbatos becoming more like Mikazuki. Mika was always a savage beast.
I wish I could make a model look that good. I'm going to put together HG 1/144 Vidar at some point. My first EVER model. So many parts, looks so confusing! But Barbatos Lupus Rex looks BEAST. :D

Has to be my fav mobile suit in all of the fundamental franchise. Love how animalistic it is. Just ruthless and vicious on the battle field and it finally came into the build of it at the end of the anime.
I’m a dork so I have to nit pick. Wish the giant sword from lupus and the arm cannons would’ve stayed as a feature. Don’t mind the stuff it has now. Just feel the giant sword was mikazuki’s proper progression from finally learning to use a sword in season 1’s end. And he always seemed shit with rifles so the arm cannons seemed a better fit. More close/mid range combat oriented.
I would love to buy both lupus and Rex to mix match to my dream gundam lmao.

For my figure for the gold stickers I just scratched them with a nail clipper once I applied them to give them a scratched and damaged look

Barbatos has this demonic style to represent the meaning of the suits name and i like this desing more than the others tbh
I also noticed how every time it gets upgraded from a previous form it looks less and less human in proportion and more beast-like. I mean just look at the first form side by side to final form holy crap the progression is cool

This 1/100 scale kit (and the previous Barbatos releases) is very MG-like already, making me wonder if there's going to be an actual MG treatment for IBO kits.
+The Harunate I have a same concern ^^
We can probably consider the Hi-Res Model Barbatos either as a MG Titanium Finish or Extra Finish. Though it clearly isn't an actual MG due to it having a pre-assembled inner frame.
honestly i see like maybe the original barbatos form 4 or the lupus getting an MG someday most likely lupus bandai really hyped that design up with pvs and such

Building up the frame is similar from your other 1/100 IBO haha its like cut those part and connect a new half of a video attached the armor.
what are you doing by applying ethanol? clean the places where seals are supposed to go?
