- In this video I breakdown Reid Duke's incredible article, "How to Smell Blood and Level Up Your Game." It is an incredible article about how to continue improving as you face better competition in Magic: the Gathering, so I wanted to give it some exposure to help more players benefit from its timeless wisdom. I also add a bit of context and explain some of his examples, because it was written over 5 years ago and some of the references may be difficult for newer players to grasp.

Glory!
If “you got it, you got it” since it force their hand, if they had it then they would definitely use it on what im about to play cuz we both know how good it is
Sometimes making your opponent have it is the best play for sure.

Very interesting and helpful article. Such videos are my favorite. Also, this philosophy is applicable not only in magic but in other competitive games too.
I’m so glad you liked it! I really enjoy making these and you can find a whole playlist called, “MTG Article Breakdowns,” on my channel home page with more videos like this one!
I was playing the One Piece TCG and my opponent had played a removal card. It was my turn and I thought about playing another character but I was afraid of the same removal. I should've played the character and establish a better board instead of being afraid of a low probability removal from my opponent.
I'm glad the strategy applies to multiple games!
Would love to see a video devoted to your mana base. How many fast lands, slow lands, enters tapped, etc for each deck archetype. #glory
I have videos on building mana bases for Limited, but I don't tend to focus on it for Constructed as much.
Damn right. You can't win through the cards they "might have." They have to have the removal, or the extra haste creature. Make them have it.
Yep! You have to be willing to make them have it sometimes.
I really like your videos where you read and explain articles like this! Very helpful!
I really like making them, so this is great to hear!
#glory great idea for video. I think jailbreak scheme is an interesting card and could talk about those sort of cards in draft
I’m so glad you liked it!
No risk, no @glory?
I'm way behind in this process - still the guy that tests the patience of the experienced players, casting spells into open mana, etc. :)
Everyone starts somewhere! Sometimes the correct play is to just go for it anyway, so you’ve got that play down it sounds like. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

Also I'd love to have more videos like this. Sometimes i have an amazing draft deck but then I don't know how to make the best decision and then I'm blown away by an opponents card, where if i had played my cards right, I wouldn't need to care about.
I'm so glad you liked it! I actually have an entire playlist on my channel called, "MTG Article Breakdowns," that you can find on my channel home page that has lots of videos like this one!
