FROM NOW ON! WARNING! BLOOMING! RINNE! MANNERS! DICE! DAYDREAMING! DON'T YOU TELL ME! Studio versions not to be missed and they can go on your playlist. Peace. 4.34
Don't worry about thinking it would be an instrumental. You were right. Originally it was. But then Saiki the singer liked the tune so much she badgered Kobato into writing some lyrics for it, so she could be involved as well.
To quote Jack at JBF Music, "Expect the unexpected, with Band-Maid." And evidently you didn't hear where Akane made Saiki giggle while she was singing. at 4 min 30 secs of your video. Most of the time, the Ladies will make faces at Akane to try to mess her up, but they almost NEVER get her to, but there has bee several times where Akane has gotten them to laugh. And as the video ended you were listening to the final notes of Play, but then if you go to Domination, you will hear those notes again as they lead into Domination.
Love the t-shirt! Lots of us older fans of the Holy Triumvirate have become big fans of the Maids, so you’re in good company! 👍🏼. Have you checked out “Puzzle” live? Some similar hammer/pull offs riff by Kanami throughout reminiscent to TSOR or Analog Kid, on steroids. I think Alex would appreciate and approve. - “Puzzle” - official live video And then - “Blooming” - official MV for some killer instrumental work and vocals Then dozens more!! Take care and rock on! 🤘🏼🔥🎸🎤🥁🎼😀✌🏼
I hear that 'Play' was supposed to be an instrumental, but Saiki liked it so much that they added lyrics for her to sing. There is a joyful calculus to their songwriting: it isn't just writing out a score that mechanically includes all the parts. They weave each other in and out of the song structure and they're even anticipating and including the audience response. Band-Maid is the most innovative and creative team I have stumbled across in years.
They are so good. They have supplanted Rush as my all time favorite Band. To the point that I have gone to see them live 22 times since October last year.
Welcome to the world of Band maid.. You have a great many songs to go.. Enjoy the ride.. A few more bands for you.. If you dare? Lovebites, Nemophila and Aldious.. All Ladies, all Japanese and all out of this world.. You are going to be very busy...
Once you get bit, it lasts for years! I think it’s because of the re-playability. You can listen to a song over and over again and find something new every time.
Thrill got me into them (after seeing the damn video pop up in my feed for three years then finally caved) and was not at all expecting what I heard. Then checked out another song by them that I can't remember but it was to "poppy" for my liking. Then, like, a year later I checked out this song. And that gad damn intro was so good I replayed it line 6 times before I let the rest of the song play. Couldn't believe what I was hearing, and seeing who was playing it. Then Onset sealed the deal and ya, can be an expensive ride afterwards haha Edit: Knowing you are doing King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard AND Band-Maid?! Instant sub from me brother.
Right on, you did "Play"! Great reaction. Since you like "Onset", maybe try another instrumental: "From Now On". And since you like seeing them perform live, there's a cool professionally-filmed opening intro instrumental to their live show. I'll find it for you.
Manners / Black Hole live does feature Akane's drumming in a couple of respects, drum and bass intro to the groovy Manners and then non stop ferociousness during the mad Black Hole.
So much for "notify me," youtube... 🙄 I love this song live. The studio track is still good, but it's nothing compared to the live track. Live is truly transformative. The crowd energy and participation just adds so much to the song that the studio track feels hollow by comparison. Funnily enough, this was originally going to be an instrumental, but Saiki liked it so much, she wanted to be a part of it, so it got changed and now it's a staple of their shows and the crowd sings half the chorus. Just fantastic composition all around.
It's not just about Listen----it's also about LOOK !--------the mv version of Manners has fabulously evocative visuals ..... So much so, that even though Manners live is a deserved all-time classic,,,,,,the on-site mv version is on the same level of beauty---but for BOTH visuals AND sound ! prob my fave of faves.
Bad news, that long drum solo in Freedom is only done occasionally, and changes each time.Drums are featured heavily in many songs but not to that extent. Their SOP is to pick two or three songs each tour, add on an extended intro or mid interlude, often featuring drum and bass. This song, Play, has at least 3 different intros, that I have heard. Freedom, I have heard 4 different versions.
Yeah- you ARE mostly right- but don't ignore reacting to the MVs for the ones all the fans tell you should be done as MVs! We are fans and get how amazing they are live too lol. (and thrill aint on the list). Daydreaming, Blooming, Warning, Dice, From now on, Manners, Rinne, (Some fans might add or take away 1 or 2 - but not from the first 5 i listed). They ARE fantastic MVs which sound amazingn and there isnt ANY or any particularly GOOD live of them. And doing some low quality live over an amazing MV just because its live would be silly). BM are incredible live - as in, seeing them live in person :) one of the best in the world! But that isnt gonna come across well in bad cam footage from a small venue that had bad sound setup etc. So also when doing live's I mostly wouldnt recommend the 'newest' versions just because they are new but the ones from a year or 2 ago - basically you want the version of each song that has the MOST views - there's a reason the fans will all watch one version - they just had better sound recording/mixing or whatever for a particular tour.
Live is best but don't overlook some great music videos - Warning is my favorite song and video by them and it has every music video cliché jammed into it (and I mean that in the best way) You'll never think of the stereotype of women on top of cars in music videos the same way. Other great videos: Dice, Blooming, Daydreaming (a ballad) and From Now On (an instrumental). On a side note: I really appreciate the positive approach you take with your channel. The world needs more positivity.
FROM NOW ON! WARNING! BLOOMING! RINNE! MANNERS! DICE! DAYDREAMING! DON'T YOU TELL ME! Studio versions not to be missed and they can go on your playlist. Peace. 4.34
Great list. I would like to add WITHOUT HOLDING BACK to that please.
And.. YOLO!Non fiction days, Hibana,Corallium Before yesterday, Decided by Myself, Alone, You, Onset, Real existence, I'll,I still seek revenge, Dragon cries, Giovanni, Matchless gum, Unfair Game,,Hate,Clang,, Puzzle, Secret My lips, Arcadia girl, Freezer, Take me higher, Secret Maiko lips,... ALL 😉
lets just cut to the chase listen to.....EVERY SONG THEY HAVE EVER DONE!!!
One and Only (Tokyo 2018 Live Version)

Transition, transitions, transitions- some of the best you'll ever hear. So many Rush (your T shirt) fans have taken to Band-Maid.
Every reactor - I think this is an instrumental!
Saiki - Hold my beer
The story goes that Kanami did write it as an instrumental but Saiki wanted to play too.

Live BM is fantastic, of course, but still...some of their MVs must be seen/heard too. Like "Warning" and "Choose Me" and "The Non-fiction Days".
Someone has caught the bug!
While they do shine live, there are some excellent MV versions. Blooming, Rinne, Dice, Warning, Influencer, From Now On.
Don't forget Manners !!!!!!!!!!!

Loving the enrgy in that concert and your reaction! Peace friends.

Here you go my friend, and it starts with our favorite drummer: th-cam.com/video/UE7cnxjUfgI/w-d-xo.html

For a long time, "Play" live was my favorite, but Manners/Black Hole has become my favorite live performance video.
Saw them live in Houston last May. I love these ladies.

I always play Play when I’m playing Band-Maid because Play shows how good the Maids play when they’re playing Play. 😜🤘 Thx, Walt!
If you want to listen to "I still seek revenge", I'm sure you gonna loved it, its full of rock bass sound from start to end😁
Make sure you pick the MV for the song DICE😉

Best MV: CHOOSE ME, BLOOMING, YOLO, ENDLESS STORY, WARNING, AFTER LIFE, INFLUENCER, THE NON-FICTION DAYS, RINNE, UNLEASH.

Listen to our little Pigeon (Miku) on rhythm guitar.....she is totally jamming on this song !!!!!
