Most importantly, I'm delighted that it's also been of some comfort to so many of you. From what I learned of Dan, it's my personal belief that he would not want anyone staying sad for too long. I think he'd want everyone to celebrate his life and gifts; to be silly, mischievous, smile and go out to spread positive vibes! #dontgiveindontgiveup Post-weekend, I have just emailed a link, along with my condolences, to Matt and the family as so many of you wanted/requested, but must respect the Thomas family's privacy at this heartbreaking time of grief for them. I'm sure if and when the time is right they will hear it and we'll get to know. If they do, I hope that they find some comfort too, not just in the sincere sentiment but the fact that Dan inspired it. Thank you for the lovely praise for my songwriting and playing, however I must clarify that I didn't sing lead vocal. I only wrote and produced the track, played the guitar and sung the backing vocals. I was incredibly lucky enough to find and work with a wonderful singer to sing the lead vocal. I don't have his permission to credit him as yet and suspect that he's more comfortable remaining anonymous. However I know he's reading these comments and will be appreciative of the lovely things you've been saying about his incredible voice! So thank you on his behalf too!

I found Dans videos when I was off for a month. His surgery was the same day as my surgery. All I had was a broken hand and I was so scared. After watching his video I feared nothing. He text me and said we have something in common we’re both having surgery on the same day and I thought no you are so brave and kind I’m a wimp feeling sorry for myself. After seeing Dan I realized how precious life is and don’t waste a minute. He was a blessing to me. Sometimes I can’t wait to get to Heaven so I can see my hero’s. 😭 When I get to Heaven I want to give dan a big hug and thank him for helping me realize how precious life is. ❤️ I knew Dan was dying and nothing would stop that the fact he is gone gives me peace it means he didn’t suffer and linger on. I've been supporting Dan since his 'surgery hasn't worked' viral video and I wish I'd been there sooner. He was a special guy and I was utterly touched by the spirit of the man. I began writing this song the same day I watched that first video as I felt totally compelled to release how it made me feel. I'm a cancer survivor myself and I was fortunate in finding it in time and having successful treatment. I still clearly recall the numb disbelief turning to acute terror, while presenting a calm exterior for my loved ones. So I have a tiny glimpse of what Dan went through. So hopefully you'll understand what motivated me to write this. The song has been a blessing as well because the lead vocal is not mine, only the guitar and background harmony vocal are and I found a wonderful singer to help me and we're working together now. I love how Dan has even spread this positive into my life. He's left us physically but remains in our hearts and the good things he's inspired. RIP Daniel, you will never be forgotten. 💖
@@Chinaguitarsceptic ❤💞, you play the guitar so wonderfully and I can hear you singing and your voice is beautiful too, I'm sorry that you've been through cancer too, I had Pre invasive cancer myself many years ago and I remember the fear, crying and thinking that I wouldn't live to see my children grow up, but mine was caught very early also, mine was one stage before turning into cancer, so I too know a little on how you felt and Dan, I can't imagine how he felt hearing those horrible words and knowing that there was nothing they could do except a few trials that really didn't work, I think Dans shear will to live and his strength kept him alive, I just wish they could have found some miracle treatment for him, just so very sad and heartbreaking to lose such an amazing inspirational person, love you to the moon and back Dan Thomas, sending much love to you too and thank you again for this beautiful song ❤
You are so kind and I'm so glad you're well and cancer free now. It's the worst fear of any parent to leave their children while they're still little isn't it. My youngest is just 5. I also think that no parent should have to bury a child and so I feel for Dan's parents so much. They seem so strong though and have each other. It broke my heart when Dan's dad begun to say "Matt and the other boys" in the last video and then had to stop and correct himself to say Ben as well. That's going to take time for them to come to terms with. I am so happy that they seem so 'together' as a unit. That's important. It feels so empty without Dan's postings. When he was able to post himself, although it was difficult to see his pain and trepidation, i was so hopeful that God would perform a miracle. God's miracles and our wishes are not necessarily look the same. God has performed a miracle in touching him so that Dan is no longer in pain . I will miss his ta ta, bye bye.

It feels so empty without Dan's postings. When he was able to post himself, although it was difficult to see his pain and trepidation, i was so hopeful that God would perform a miracle. God's miracles and our wishes are not necessarily look the same. God has performed a miracle in touching him so that Dan is no longer in pain . I will miss his ta ta, bye bye.

I haven't. I tried to send it to Dan via email a couple of weeks back when I wrote it and I made a video to send just a couple of days ago too but it was different to this one.
