I think that she chooses when she wants to be a DIVA and when she is going to be more serious in her interviews. Here she is more serious because of the topics that she talks about. If she is promoting her recent projects, talking about her kids and not so serious topics etc. she is going to be more playful. We all have a playful side were we laugh and are not taken things so serious . Here in this part of the interview she is serious because she is talking about her childhood, racial problems towards her and her family when she was growing up. She is still the same Mariah as she was years ago, as she played the DIVA role in the beginning of her career years before this interview, but its not that often that she gets to talk about her past. :)
