I think people forget that these two grew up together--she moved into his house when she was 13, and they've been romantic since 15. They've been through a lot of trauma with each other, and a lot of good things as well. I feel like it's just more complicated than anyone can really speculate or comment on. They're the only ones who really know what's up in their relationship.

The point being, they both are/were at fault. They both caused great pain, and they both are responsible. I feel it’s important to acknowledge her years of sacrifices and hard work as well - basically, as almost still a kid herself - running a household, raising small children - alone - working, fighting addiction, depression, emotional/mental duress from their relationship, night after night of Em’s massively public shaming of her and the traumatic physiological impact of that, of their life together, on-going, daily loneliness, (with no stable grandparent to help) - living out years virtually as a single parent. And without the added perks of fame, appreciation, affirmations, excitement, travel, and personal assistants serving her needs, troubleshooting challenges, support... all the while, not experiencing frequent reminders of how amazing, talented and deserving she is everyday... nor being idolized and supported like Em had been able to experience accompanying his hard work. Without her, he wouldn’t have been as able to catapult to the success he was having. (though she was also struggling with addiction at the time, as was he). I would imagine there were many areas of hard work and sacrifices she gave that she didn’t sign up for. He made sacrifices and didn’t sign up for many of those areas either. I wouldn’t want to minimize either Em’s or Kim’s experiences and all they went through.

I love Eminem so much and I’ve been here since the beginning, decades ago. BUT, I had to roll my eyes a little bit when he released that statement saying he won’t participate in things like this for the sake of their children, after releasing song after song about their mother, all of which made this minor interview compared to his songs, look like Sesame Street compared to Sons of Anarchy. I like Em as a rapper a lot, he’s a legend - but this poor lady did not have a platform to defend herself as a person. Relationships can be a toxic mix of love and hate in the midst of financial struggle. He was able to get his vindication and escape. She went from being in the same trap to becoming partially responsible for his hardships in his eyes once he got out of the rat race. Can’t blame either of them, but I feel sorry for her.

Good interview. From listening to Eminem's songs, it kind of influences you to believe that she's a little crazy. In this interview, you can clearly tell she's a sane, rational woman. She's made lots of mistakes, but she has a good heart and is a good person. For some reason, I can see that her and Em probably got into a lot of bad fights where they both said a bunch of crazy stuff that they didn't mean.

I'm one of the biggest Eminem fans you could ever get, but I have a shit load of respect for Kim. The way she's handled herself in the public eye is admirable. She could have easily come out and ruined (or attempted to ruin) Em, but she's kept herself out of things as much as she can, which is a rarity in this fame-seeking generation we live in. The fact she took Eminem back after "Kim" and his other antics speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. We'll probably never know what went on in their relationship, but I think it's best if it stays that way.
i love how the interviewer and Kim started to get into a rhythm of agreeing with the relatable bits of the interview. actually, it started to feel like a conversation rather than a interview.
It takes a lot of maturity and self-awareness to say good things about your ex as a father after having been wronged and publicly humiliated by him. Here's the thing about our world now: Eminem wouldn't have gotten away with his song, she would have had the space to respond, and it would have been super ugly, but her side of the story would have been heard. His toxicity and responsibility would have been exposed and discussed, as much as her own and the power dynamic between them wouldn't have been so imbalanced. So social media are a mess, but there's one thing we can't deny: it prevented "normal" people to be silenced and overwhelmed by celebrities influence, and I don't like drama and personal beefs spreading all over the internet. But I remember their story, I'm an full grown adult now and I can say, as much as I love Eminem, he fucked up.

Alot of men don't have empathy for women. I've asked male abusers about this in honest conversations and they say that they'd never let that happen. Yet they fail to have empathy or understanding that what they despise in other men, they do tenfold to someone they love, who's someone's daughter. It's a disconnect. Em seemed to be self-aggrandizing and in attack/bully mode, which are Schemas that can develop to abusive tendancies. I'm an Em fan I'm just giving first hand experience. He's grown. One can admire Eminem for his lyrical skill, but as a person, his behaviour at the height of his fame towards Kim (and his mother, to whom he recently apologized) was immature and disgraceful. He liked to accuse Kim of everything under the sun, whilst ignoring his own behaviour: 1)- Writing disturbing and abusive lyrics about the mother of his children, 2)- Humiliating and insulting Kim repeatedly in front of live audiences, 3)- The negative effect of his fame on their relationship and his blaming her, rather than blaming himself for becoming extremely arrogant. She admits to the things she did wrong and the mistakes she made, but she had every right to defend herself and speak her piece. There is a reason Eminem has calmed down significantly ever since rehab, because I think he regrets many of the things he did back in his heyday.

And without the added perks of fame, appreciation, affirmations, excitement, travel, and personal assistants serving her needs, troubleshooting challenges, support... all the while, not experiencing frequent reminders of how amazing, talented and deserving she is everyday... nor being idolized and supported like Em had been able to experience accompanying his hard work. Without her, he wouldn’t have been as able to catapult to the success he was having. (though she was also struggling with addiction at the time, as was he).
I would imagine there were many areas of hard work and sacrifices she gave that she didn’t sign up for. He made sacrifices and didn’t sign up for many of those areas either. I wouldn’t want to minimize either Em’s or Kim’s experiences and all they went through.

I like Em as a rapper a lot, he’s a legend - but this poor lady did not have a platform to defend herself as a person. Relationships can be a toxic mix of love and hate in the midst of financial struggle. He was able to get his vindication and escape. Good interview. From listening to Eminem's songs, it kind of influences you to believe that she's a little crazy. In this interview, you can clearly tell she's a sane, rational woman. She's made lots of mistakes, but she has a good heart and is a good person. Here's the thing about our world now: Eminem wouldn't have gotten away with his song, she would have had the space to respond, and it would have been super ugly, but her side of the story would have been heard. His toxicity and responsibility would have been exposed and discussed, as much as her own and the power dynamic between them wouldn't have been so imbalanced. So social media are a mess, but there's one thing we can't deny: it prevented "normal" people to be silenced and overwhelmed by celebrities influence, and I don't like drama and personal beefs spreading all over the internet. But I remember their story, I'm an full grown adult now and I can say, as much as I love Eminem, he fucked up.

Find the photo at their divorce where em looked so miserable and she was smirking at him because obviously she enjoyed it. And in this interview she talks about how she tried to hide she was crying so the kids wouldn't hear it but how many times she committed suicide even tough she has a little boy as well. Dunno i ve seen so many man who are terrible but ive also seen so many terrible woman who were partly responsible from that

Alot of men don't have empathy for women. I've asked male abusers about this in honest conversations and they say that they'd never let that happen. Yet they fail to have empathy or understanding that what they despise in other men, they do tenfold to someone they love, who's someone's daughter. It's a disconnect. Em seemed to be self-aggrandizing and in attack/bully mode, which are Schemas that can develop to abusive tendancies. I'm an Em fan I'm just giving first hand experience. He's grown. I'm proud of him for not being that man anymore and his apology to Kim in Bad Husband. Alot of men don't change. Em needed to heal and grow and he has, unlike most men who behave like that with their SO. Hurt people hurt people. I think that's what happened.

A very honest interview from Kim Scott. One can admire Eminem for his lyrical skill, but as a person, his behaviour at the height of his fame towards Kim (and his mother, to whom he recently apologized) was immature and disgraceful. He liked to accuse Kim of everything under the sun, whilst ignoring his own behaviour: 1)- Writing disturbing and abusive lyrics about the mother of his children, 2)- Humiliating and insulting Kim repeatedly in front of live audiences, 3)- The negative effect of his fame on their relationship and his blaming her, rather than blaming himself for becoming extremely arrogant. She admits to the things she did wrong and the mistakes she made, but she had every right to defend herself and speak her piece. There is a reason Eminem has calmed down significantly ever since rehab, because I think he regrets many of the things he did back in his heyday.
