    I see a lot of negative comments on here correlating the amount of effort to a monetary value. The same people booing this video are the same people who will spend hours a day every day, indoors texting, scrolling through facebook or playing xbox and not make a penny doing any of it. I see a couple outside involved with a pretty interesting hobby, having a good time together.

      It's about the gold , Most hobby gold miners are just that hobby miners . They're not in it for the money . it would be nice but unless you are getting 5 grams a day and up working at mcdonalds pays better . Hobby miners usually don't sell their gold either . they like to look at the shiny yellow stuff and like showing it to people

    That is amazing, gold out of beach sand. I have to wonder the concentration of gold in regular sand on that beach, as opposed to the more black stuff? If there was 0.5 g/yd^3, that could still be worthwhile, I'd think. Challenging to recover, because it's so fine, but that's part of the fun. Great job! Please keep posting these videos.

    • @douglaspohl1827

      0.5g/yd3 worth it? My pencil on January 2021 says $29.74/yd3 - only a recreational (hobby) prospector can enjoy. I'd be interested in seeing your proof. DSML.PDX over 20,000,000 ounces have been taken out of Alaska... Consider Googling Nome Gold Rush - more than 3,600,000 ounces has been taken in Nome. BIMA took more than 130,000 ounces in the sands off Nome.

      @royjohnson465 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      drain the swamp 2.0 ~~Yes a Mineral Jig or Duplex Jig gets everything and 'better than' any sluice for concentrating both micron gold 'and' gemstones. Jigs use lineal oscillation (vibrating) and aqueous suspension (quicksand) in a square funnel (wide at the top, narrower at the bottom), peeling off the worthless top layer after the valuables sink down first. Is a Jig the way how you concentrate your material (without using a sluice).??

      I do have a video showing the gold cube with the saw tooth mat in it. th-cam.com/video/lkcaCW-b2A8/w-d-xo.html It out performs the vortex and the dream mat specifically with black sand. No vegetation from the rivers being caught by the vortex either. In fact the gold cube will be introducing this mat the near future. So yes the Saw tooth mat was designed around the gold cube.

    Why did you set the sluice up so far from the sand.
    If you were right on the source you could proces 40 times the volume for the same effort.
    Those buckets are HEAVY when full and i carry them as little as possible

    At an average grade of about 18ppm, you may want to get an excavator and a hydrocyclone to pace it!

    $120.00 for processing 2 1/2 tons of material. Maybe a little more, depending on what you'll get for your AU. I figured 70% of spot with spot at $41 a gram. He's doing this for pleasure, it's not his day job. If it was he'd be getting $15.00 an hour for 8 hours work. (if he only did it for 8 hours) I don't know how much workers are paid to run a shovel. $15.00 sounds about right..
