Heating the end of the pipe up in a bit of hot water does work a treat and saves your fingers. I set a similar/ but larger system up a couple of months ago and only learnt that trick half way through 😂

I've had my autopot system set up in my small polytunnel for a few weeks now. Seems to be doing ok. I've got 6 pot system and have my tomatoes in the pots. Seems to be doing well so far and so easy to top up the tank

Hi JB, great vlog, really informative.
As I have mentioned before I did treat myself to a 6 pot Easy2Grow Autopot system for my greenhouse. Mine are set up in a line down one side of my greenhouse and I have 6 tomatoes in the pots. I added seaweed feed in the recommended amounts to the reservoir and so far the tomato plants are looking very healthy and happy.
I too was a bit confused and overwhelmed by the amount of products and configuration of these systems when initially looking at these, which is why I ended up going for the easy2grow versions as they seemed more straightforward in the configuration and set up. I am glad you have got the one pot system and to see you describe the difference was really good and helpful.
I am hoping that when I go on holiday later in the summer, these will come into their own and I will be wishing I had bought a couple more and I may well invest in another set for next year.
I am still waiting for my set of Quad grows to arrive, hoping they come soon so I can compare these too.

Having set up a lot of polypipe irrigation, I strongly recommend the hot water trick to make the end of the pipe much much easier to get the fittings on! 😊 For the sake of a cup of water from the kettle and the time + muscles it saves, it's worth it!

It sounds great and be interesting to see the results, price maybe the only con to most people. Thanks for the tip about not standing your chilli's in water, quickly paused the video and raised them 😅. Jo Devon 🙂

I'm really looking forward to seeing your long term appraisal of this system. I have a couple of Quadgrows, three Oasesbox self watering planters which I just got a few months ago, and a 60 litre reservoir under part of my staging that waters capilliary matting on which i put some of my chilli's. My main priority is to make watering as simple as possible both for myself but more particularly the nominated 'waterer' if I'm away which is quite often. Great video JB, thanks.

Interested to hear how you get on with those oasesboxes.. I've seen them recently and wasn't too sure about them. Looks like a really small reservoir really?

Nice overview 👍And lol, "much much *much* more reliable" made me giggle. An end of the season cleanout video would be awesome. Also, how hot does the reservoir get? And I would consider such a thing an investment (and a convenience too I guess). Sure I might be costly, but it feels like the same territory as grow lights etc. You buy them and then you have them for "a while". And also, if I got one of these it would hopefully help me to NOT cram smaller pots closer together, aka not grow "too many" plants 🤪

nice set up 120 GBP isn't tooooo bad esp cos it will last for years and years..I assume anyway ;-) but if someone just starts gardening and needs tools, a greenhouse, compost and what not it might be too much, but once you're settled I think they're worth keeping your plants alive, remember chilies have been cared for for 6 months now or similar and to buy all those chilies in the shops? would be more, but yeah, it's looks cool

I love the idea of slowly adding to this little by little. And like you say they're built to last. All felt like good quality stuff and I've only ever seen people rave about them. Freezing in winter would definitely be a consideration. Quite likely it could cause some pieces to split or break.
Also yes they sell much bigger reservoirs for it! But it would be simple enough to connect it up to a water butt or something like that.
