My sister, You KNOW he's....gifted !! Every shot a memory. His goals, his successes. Our own. Darn. Small population in a huge country, everybody knew everybody's business, his time in China, I was in school in England and didn't know he'd gone beyond the field eliminations, they lasted for months, my sister sent me a bandit tape of his first appearance singing SOS, his name edited out, with who's this ? on a card. My reply, I have no idea but he isn't human. He didn't look like him ! His haircut, a part ? Boy did I get guff. Never live that one down. So many memories flooded back and a lump as big as a golfball in my throat. The time passes fast. A memory of all of us watching a phone vid, hey ! Look at this ! Dimash is Bruce Lee ! him running down the street in front of his house, lept into the air, his leg kick in an extension a foot above his 6'3" down, around up and a lightening side kick at least that high. Silence. A voice. Showoff. The roof came off ! A red belt with stripes in Taekwondo. We knew it. He was always the first to laugh. Well back then, the Kazakh Dimash hide the face, look down, sorta blush first then the famous ear to ear grin with laughter. He sure grew up pretty. Ha !

It was his birthday and he gifted us another masterpiece. There's just not enough words to express his generosity. 🙆🏻♀💖🙆🏻♂ so many of do Maddy....I have been listening to DQ for about 4 years. The first song I heard was 2017 SOS that a friend sent me via email. I didn't listen for the first 2 weeks, because I thought.....I'm never really moved by any singers any longer. But my jaw dropped to the floor, could not believe what I was hearing OR seeing....a voice like an angel or being from another world and one that looks like one too. And here it is 4 years later...and I keep involuntarily crying when I hear him sing. I listened to his Almaty concert Olympico for the 10 millionth time again the other night, you'd think I wouldn't cry anymore....but just turned into a puddle. I've heard so many of the "great" singers live in my life, NOT one of them ever made me cry; I was impressed or moved or wowed sometimes, but not one ever touched me or made me cry against my will as does DQ. I cry every time I see this video, not because the video is so sad, but because I keep realizing that Dimash is such a humble person who only expresses gratitude, joy and love for his life so far, but also afraid of disappointing those he loves. Who does that these days? And at that age too? What a great human being. He's worked so hard for it his whole life and despite his success he's remained so down to earth, incredibly nice to everyone and never acts like a star. He always makes us think about our own lives. Yeah I hear you. I wish I could cry beautifully but no such luck. I cried all the way through this song many times before I could really enjoy the images and lyrics. I cry every time I see this video, not because the video is so sad, but because I keep realizing that Dimash is such a humble person who only expresses gratitude, joy and love for his life so far, but also afraid of disappointing those he loves. Who does that these days? And at that age too? What a great human being. He's worked so hard for it his whole life and despite his success he's remained so down to earth, incredibly nice to everyone and never acts like a star. He always makes us think about our own lives.
He made us Dears this song and video for his 29th birthday on May 24th, 2023 as a thank you for the support and love as a gift. He wants to express his gratitude for the fact that life has been good for him so far and that he is grateful for what he has and what life could still (good) have in store for him.
Gratitude for the love and support of his family, friends and of course his Dears. Of course, this can also be applied to the life of anyone who is grateful for life and does not always only see the negative and bad in his life and is only jealous of what the other person might have more, but is satisfied with what he has, of course, continued to try to make his dreams come true. This beautiful song needs no vocal acrobatics and no vocal analysis. We witness pure beauty. What a great song.
He first met Jackie Chan in 2017 during the Singer Competition. There's a video of the song Autumn Strong where you can see that. Both are now good friends and I read that Dimash is also currently writing a song for a soundtrack for Jackie Chan's new film.

Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song The Story Of One Sky there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church.
