I should've mentioned, there are different kinds of luck; basic luck for loot, and luck for the different gathering professions. Those do not stack, ie extra loot luck doesn't help your mining luck at all and vice versa. Sorry about that 😅
So does having nonspecific regular "luck" on your gear add to everything? (Mining, loot drops, skinning, logging, etc) if so, wouldn't that be a better option than carrying around complete sets of specific gear?
So if the item just says "luck" it is referring to loot luck, which is for opening chests and defeating monsters, so no it doesn't help others. Also even if it did do that, the specific sets get higher luck values, ie "luck" only goes up to like 2.5% per armor slot, but "mining luck" can go up to 5% per armor slot. Does that make sense?
For this reason your max luck number is wrong. There is no harvesting luck on bags. The only jewelry slot you can get harvesting luck on is the neck, which caps at just over 9%. Harvesting tools also cap just over 9% (one is 9.3 and the other is 9.5 if memory serves) and T5 food is 2000 not 2500. Lots of good information but you went from a lot of facts to just total speculation when you calculated the maximum.
You get the minimum luck threshold for every tier item when you max the needed skill for that tier, so if you are 200 mining for example you have a base passive 2000 luck points now, so you can roll on tolvium etc without gear , just min roll
Randomly stumbled upon this video and it has been a huge help, thank you very much for shining light into what luck is, so basically you have to pass the 11% first and then a second roll to get certain end game stuff, no wonder people complain after mining 5 k orichalcum. Thank you again!
I have 2.5% on all my armor, luck on one bag, and 2.5 on one jewelry. Is that enough luck for looting chest and monsters? I don't have any trophies at all. I just want to make sure if I'm just wasting time because I feel like my drop rate or loot drops are still bad with all this luck on.
So you don't "need" luck for weapon drops and such i don't think, but having more luck from trophies and etc will give you slightly better drops more often. Also different lucks don't stack, so harvesting luck doesn't help mining luck, and skinning luck doesn't help loot luck for example.
Stacked Deck can be rolled from any 35+ Supply Stockpile. 100% sure. Since got 3 from farming Weavers Fen 35+ Stockpiles. Also got Dices at 55+ Area in Rickwater. It takes me like full day of farming for one item.
Yeah I just got furnishing high enough to make the basic trophies so now I've gotta farm those out for myself and then craft luck trophies and sell them for tons of gold lol
In the newest dev blog they specified that your gathering skill adds luck to your base rolls. At 200 mining you get +2000 luck. This means you can currently get all items without any luck as long as your skill is at 200, and in most cases 180, but of course this chance is low, and you can / should increase this with items and food.
Tool tip: remember to increase your yield when you go mine. Then you will get 2 higher tier matts whenever you get lucky. That way you can really maximize your luck. So you will get 2 void ores Everytime if you have enough Xtra yield.
@@RoasttBeef I think for the rly rare stuff u need a minimum +50% yield and thats not so easy to get. Yout need proficiency pots, stats on ur gathering tool, bonuses of the area u are in etc.
Yes, each profession has a different set, like armoring pieces make your higher minimum crafted score go up, and cooking clothing gives you higher chance for bonus items.
What's weird is, is that i went to go farm pit lord daehi in the ravine in shattered and saw there was a lot of orichalcum there, so i mined it. I got 3 tolvium on my first like 3 nodes. 10 mins later after killing stuff, i got 7 more tolvium...20-30 mins later i got 8 more tolvium. Funny part is... I HAD NO LUCK GEAR only thing i had luck on was my pick axe which has like 7-8%. Put on some luck gear and ate 1900 luck food and didn't get crap for like 2 hours. Seems weird, seems when i put on my luck gear i get less. Not first time this has happened
Yeah, honestly not sure its working as intended given all the other stuff, but at least by numbers tolvium shouldn't be possible until 180 mining(without any other luck lol) but if its working right number *should* be good 😅
So yes there is a cap, not that they limit you, but rather that gear can only add so much(around 4k to your loot roll, 12k for your harvesting roll). If you check out the void ore video for max luck it looks more at that idea and also has some hard numbers in the pinned comment
I think my other video on void ore chances covers some max loot luck and drop chances based on that for trophy artifacts, there should be a pinned comment with some of the numbers.
I was getting Tolvium and cinnabar with 2 minor mining trophy’s and mining gear with all about 4.5% luck increase. Never once got void ore. Something tells me they are not in the same loot pool and void ore required more luck than Cinnabar or Tolvium
Yup, you are pretty correct, namely that void ore is way more rare than tolvium/cinnabar. I've got another video up explaining in more depth, but basically you have like a 1-10% chance of getting tolvium based on luck, and then square that (1%*1%=.01%, 10%*10%=1%) is your chance at void ore
Its all stuff thats been datamined, and what wasn't datamined was determined via testing and etc... the forum link explains more if you wanna check it out
quantity is yield %. if u are trying for void ore, having 100% yield gives you 2 void ore per drop. however if u have 99% or lower it is still 1 void ore per drop
I imagine it's kinda chance though as well right? Like that yield % boosts your upper and lower quantity rolls kinda how luck does? So on void ore 7% maybe only gives an extra ore 7% of the time?
I have 32% luck and have been chest farming in Shattered Mountin for 7 straight days and im talking about rotating in all of the chest zones there for like 6-7 hours a day . And i havent seen a single legendery drop except Scalecloth , i dont know if im doing something wrong or im just mad unlucky but this does not make any sense. Im trying to get the prescision armoring tools or loaded dice but it does not seem to work out for me. Am i just unlucky or im doing smth wrong ?
Good catch, no loot luck doesn't help gathering luck. Loot luck only affects mob and chest drops, gathering luck helps whichever skill it calls out, ie mining or harvesting
I'm not sure if I missed something, but for the example for the orichalcum ore: Where does that 90000 come from? To add onto it, when you showed the Max luck being at 13500, you wrote 13500-113500. Where did that 100000 coming from? What determines that range? I'm assuming it's your base luck which is up to 100000. Would that mean in the case of orichalcum you'd always have a chance at getting the charm/t3 gem, even without any luck? I might’ve missed something, super tired rn but that's the only thing I don't properly understand about luck when looting items :)
So base luck roll is 1-100k. Having max luck(~13.5k) changes your possible rolls to 13.5k-113.5k. The 90k number comes from the loot table for orich nodes. So yes you can get the charm and gem without additional luck. Its all good if you don't understand, they made this system way too complicated xP
I am 184 mining and went 5 manned scorched mines. No mine luck on got cinnabar. 7 of them from a medium vein. I know you mentioned quantity isn't a thing.
What I meant was that until you get 180 mining you cannot obtain them from orichalcum. After that it is possible just unlikely (0.2% chance with just 200 mining). I've heard that starmetal can drop them and may be at a different rate, but I do not have the data for it xP
Rumors abound the amulets are broken and actually working as a minus. Anyone confirm? I seem yo get more legendary resources without necklace or using luck food.
From starmetal you say? I guess I'd have to look at the loot table as I dont know what values they have for the drop, but in the case of orichalc nodes you have to hit 101,800 for tolvium/cinnabar which is only possible with at least 1,800 luck, which can come from being 180 in mining
So is it 1000 points for 1% or 100 for 1% because T3 luck food says it's 1700 points of increased luck which would make it 17%? It seems like it's 1000 points per 1% of luck unless that 1700 points is only equivalent to percentage and not equal to the roll points.
So yes +1000 would be 1% higher chance, but the gear listed as giving 1% luck only actually gives +100, or 0.1%... not sure if its intentional or not but thats how it is.. 1,700 from food is actually just 1.7%
So you're right, 1% on items should mean 1000, but either due to amazon forgetting a 0 or just making bad tooltips the 1% on your armor only gives +100 to your rolls. There's a reddit post on killing and skinning 1k boars that determined it was only 100 and not 1000
Hey, please correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm thinking that it would be easier to explain it as your current luck bonus being a subtraction from the roll you need. So for example, if you're trying to get a roll on the void ore table (101800 needed), and you have a bonus of 4,500 luck, you would need to roll above 97300 (101800 - 4500) on a 1-100000 random roll. I work with numbers for a living so I totally understand how hard these things can be to explain.

Yes, each profession has a different set, like armoring pieces make your higher minimum crafted score go up, and cooking clothing gives you higher chance for bonus items.
