My bad guys - major loot luck trophies are actually 1.5%, not 15% - I got it mixed up with the gathering luck trophies. Thanks to everyone who pointed it out in the comments. This would put the max luck shown at 11:42 at 45.5% instead of 86%. Also now there is a more recent dev post on the forums where they give more details about how luck works: forums.newworld.com/t/dev-blog-luck-faq/713119
10:00 to me it sounds like the first guy was not denying that it raises the ceiling BUT he acknowledges that it is still very rare to get certain drops. And the second guy clarified that it raise ceiling and floor by technicality. The first guy just worded it weird by acknowledging that rare rolls are still rare despite a boost.
At least they finally gave us some information to go off of instead of pure speculation. If what they said is true then I believe your estimates to be very accurate and thus helpful. Great video!
It makes total sense and explains how it works. We do have a higher chance of getting a drop with all the luck gear etc. but does not effect what the item will be.
Thanks for putting this together! I think you explain things that maybe are unneeded, like gathering vs global luck to me is obvious but maybe not so for another player. Good luck out there in Aeternum!
Thanks for watching :D ya I was thinking the same thing but then I decided I should just include everything relevant from the interview so that even someone new could have the whole picture. Good luck to you as well lol
The guy answering the question should have straight up asked, “what do you mean by floor and ceiling?”. Cuz once that was asked the guy kept stuttering harder.
I have 44% with 3 basic so I guess it’s best to sell my basic ones and get the gathering ones instead since I ain’t looking for named items I rather just farm ores then cause finding stuff like pure resin is so damn hard
@@Zikorik Thanks for the link. This is what I'm talking about "Luck does not increase items reliability to roll a non-Named Legendary item". I am interested in getting GS 600 drops, not necessarily named stuff. So if I go with no luck I have more unnamed drops (with more variety of stats) and same chance at GS 600. No?
I'm really not sure but I don't think they count right now unfortunately, my main reasoning is that on nwdb.info, only weapons and armor have a filter for "named" while the gatherables and mats do not. Idk tho I hope I am wrong.
Update on this homie, looks like trophy mats do count along with some other things: forums.newworld.com/t/dev-blog-luck-faq/713119 Here are some of the low-drop-chance items Global Luck helps you get: - Unique armor from expedition bosses - Named Weapons - Recipes - Schematics - Rare resources like perk items and crafting materials - Trophy Materials - Trade Skill Armors
Great video, so really elite chest are bugged iv never seen anyone get a named item from an elite chest, trophy material drops are not effected by loot luck? This is what I'm guessing. But getting the timeless hand from leviathan you need luck
This is what I thought too but turns out trophy mats are included along with some other things: forums.newworld.com/t/dev-blog-luck-faq/713119 Here are some of the low-drop-chance items Global Luck helps you get: - Unique armor from expedition bosses - Named Weapons - Recipes - Schematics - Rare resources like perk items and crafting materials - Trophy Materials - Trade Skill Armors
and still no answers if pearls on luck items add the luck or overwrite it. i saw so many test and reports that it seems bugged. for myselfe i can say after running 3,5 month with pearls and 1,5 month without i had a significant more succsess without pearls. but i can never be sure and hope to hear something from the devs

That’s how I feel after buying three major loot luck trophies while also running with my crew who has them, while having luck gear and ONLY getting infused mana, infused health and green items dropping from the bosses at mines for two hours yesterday. So pissed 😡 😂
My luck is bugged after i made major luck trophies for me. With 43% luck i was getting trophy mats daily, got 10 mats in a week 2 legendary and 8 epic. But since major trophies i couldn't get a single trophy mat in 6 weeks, not a single one of them!! Some people say ''you are just unlucky'' but this is ridiculous level unlucky and im 100% sure there is ''too much luck'' bug indeed...
Ya rly sorry to hear that mate idk what is going on. There is some more info that was released about luck recently in this dev post: forums.newworld.com/t/dev-blog-luck-faq/713119
This was a great summary. It was so painful to listen to them talk all around the topic for so long. This summary makes them look like targeted geniuses because so much was carved away.
Yeah fighting over nodes if it wasnt for the fact that you're wearing gathering armor which as we know sucks for pvp, so those spontaneous scenarios they dream about cant happen without having the gathering person in disadvantage to the "ganking" pvper, let say a fort capturer, pvp faction mission doer, those players will have high gs standard/pvp run around not gathering gear and destroy you before you can equip your pvp gear, if thats even possible cuz youll be "in combat" status , all in all terrible idea, only solution i can think is if they desing an internal "macro" to automatically switch to a designated saved gear set slot as soon as you receive dmg from a player while flagged, they still get the jump on you and first dmg on your low res mining gear but from there on I have fighting chances and running away is not my only option anymore.
The luck question has been asked since the start of the game. Why has it taken AGS this long to answer it? I’m sorry but AGS has done a very poor job of giving the community information. You made a good video though.
Actually AGS has talked about luck a few times now. They mention it briefly on their forums in [Dev Blog] Update on Current Issues #1 where they confirm that luck does affect the likelihood that you get a trophy items (or "found furniture items") and again in [Dev Blog] Update on Current Issues #2 where they go into quite a bit more detail on luck. It would have been nice to have the info we got in the most recent video earlier, that's for sure, but they have actually been doing a pretty decent job imo of communicating and giving the community info.
BRUH FOR REAL lol fk I can't even play since the Feb update patch, desync is so bad they completely destroyed combat esp pvp. I was really holdin onto it hopin it would make it through but after three major content updates that introduce more bugs than they fix and keep implement changes no one is asking for, I've pretty much lost faith. Miss your vids tho bro hope you are doing well
specific named items does that include your crafting items? are crafting mods not named items? of the named item of that tier chest? i mean there not going to tell you how it work to the exact point or it would ruin the game. imo take what they said with a bit of sand. shit if our pulling better loot from your mobs wearing your favorite luck set then do it cause tbh theres something to it. run your routes and just make silent moves. this game is fun but theses players are something else LOUD ive never witnessed so many players desperate for attention. never the less this kinda helped understand why im getting what im getting when i wear what i wear. nuff said

Are things like weaponsmith pants considered “named drops” ?
Best breakdown that I’ve seen so far.
It makes total sense and explains how it works. We do have a higher chance of getting a drop with all the luck gear etc. but does not effect what the item will be.
Does harvesting luck effect herbs and things like stems/leafs/flowers/stones(mining luck) from the different mote nodes?
Worth mentioning that bags can have % of global luck and for gathering luck- amulets give a high chunk of %

on nwdb major loot luck trophy gives 1,5%
Ya I got it mixed up with gathering luck trophies my b, just pinned an update, thanks for pointing it out
pretty good man! you have an extremly enjoying voice Buddy :D
haha thanks homie
What about the Faction Bonuses "Luck Bonus" +50 what does that mean ?
Not sure but on nwdb.info it shows a 1.5% major loot luck trophy having +150 global roll mod. So I would assume +50 means +0.5% if I had to guess
What about provisions crates? Salt? Lemons?
Expeditions- craft materials?
Do artifacts count as named items?
Anyone know where I can find this original video of them going through this? I can't find it anywhere

agreed lol
I have 44% with 3 basic so I guess it’s best to sell my basic ones and get the gathering ones instead since I ain’t looking for named items I rather just farm ores then cause finding stuff like pure resin is so damn hard
So when I raise my luck, I reduce my chance to get legendaries since I only raise my chance for named?
No
Not sure exactly what you mean by this but more info was released a couple days ago on this: forums.newworld.com/t/dev-blog-luck-faq/713119

What a great video. Thanks bro
Thanks a lot for this informative video, i just have one question.
Trophies you get from supply chests are considered named items or not ?
I'm really not sure but I don't think they count right now unfortunately, my main reasoning is that on nwdb.info, only weapons and armor have a filter for "named" while the gatherables and mats do not. Idk tho I hope I am wrong.

@@Zikorik Thank you very much, it explained a lot for me :)
major luck trophy gives ya 5%
3 major gives ya 15%
I def got it wrong, got it mixed up with gathering luck trophies but nwdb.info actually shows it at 1.5% each
Game was fun for a minute
Ik bro I can't even play this last patch - so much desync the combat went from awesome to garbage overnight
Aren't loot trophies .5% 1% and 1.5% each therefore 4.5% is the max you can get from majors? Seems like significantly less than 45% lol
Ya that's my bad homie I got it mixed up with gathering - just pinned a comment letting everyone know. Thanks for pointing it out
Loot luck trophies given 15% ???
Nah it's 1.5% that's my bad I got it confused with loot luck, check out the pinned comment
Luck is easy to understand. Your overthinking it
