I honestly believe that you two are the most genuine YT golfers. Great content and showing the mistakes we all make as amateurs, thanks. Gives us all hints.
Pete's eagle on the par 4...that's why we keep coming back! Matt, you did pretty well for as much as you were spraying the driver :) I'll watch you guys whether you break 75 or 100. Keep 'em coming!
Matt, you are one of the three most honest YT golfers on this platform, along with Messrs Finch and Carter, and I applaud you all for that. I enjoy all your videos and learn something every time from watching them, hence why I recommend to friends and family playing the game to watch your content. Your swing, like those mentioned, is very natural and effortless and like Peter says in this video, it's the mental side that maybe needs the work. Watching Peter's video with Padraig Harrington, he emphasised that bad golf "attitude" leads to bad golf shots. You can't hit a 290+ fade with a negative approach, and look how yo smash it when positive. You got this mate, you absolutely have, and look forward to even more great and excellent content, just so I can learn some more.
I loved Pete’s prep for his last match, based strategy largely on the course map or planner, effectively pre selected clubs and shots, taking the emotion out of it.
Feeling so '....' today after too long looking at the news - so thank goodness for you guys to return me to some relaxed sanity! I mean it. You've cheered me right up.
Chin up Matt we’ve all had those rounds. On the positive side you 2 have absolutely the best chemistry and best content on the tube. Thanks for the entertainment and lessons can’t wait for the next Record Breaker’s
1st hole, 1st shot. "Wind off the left, I'm going to hit a little cutty one". And, surprise, surprise, it goes miles right. You don't need to play with a Pro to work that out.
Looked brutal in that wind. Fantastic scoring from Pete. Chin up Matt - bit of practice and you’re there again. My favorite two you tube golfers to watch - best banter by a long way.
Finchy played fabulous (the Lab putter is money). Matt, I have watched a few of your videos before...never seen you play this bad. None the less, I just subscribed.
In this game we love, when you care just that little bit less and smile in the face of adversity and enjoy being out there you might just excel. Pete is spot on in his assessment, it’s all between the ears. It doesn’t matter how talented you are, if you beat yourself up and blame stuff inevitably this game will eat you up.
Great to see you play such a tough heath/links course. Peter should head to us at Hollinwell (past open final qualifying venue)as part of quest for the open. We'd be happy to host :)
Not gonna lie Mr Fryer. After the 2 tee shot on the 9th I had to pause the video to take a breath and gather myself on your behalf before thinking positive thoughts and hitting play again. I was invested in your struggle today.
Great video. For your second shot on the 1st hole you were standing on the spot where I spread my Dad’s ashes. Fantastic memories of playing S&A, thank you.
Another brilliant vlog, mistakes, eagles , had the lot ,love the banter between you two,Pete trying to be encouraging, when inside really laughing his nuts off.keep them coming guys👍
Good to see you two back in action. You're both good for each other on content. (Record breakers). You should do more. How's Andy cartdog doing? Nearly got a job with him as content producer.
What a brutal course, and to play it in that wind! The elements certainly conspired to break / prevent any chance of Matt getting some confidence, and without that you just can't help but score big. A real blinder from Pete though - probably the best mental approach Ive seen from him so far, and preaching Padraig's mantra no less!!😂😂
That was an entertaining round. Peter really has improved over-all. A few yips still but ball striking has improved a lot. I believe his session with Paddy really steadied his mental game. Matt is a good golfer. I've seen him play excellent golf. Today was just not one of those days. But Matt pointed out himself that his preparation and diligence needs improvement. It will be interesting to see how he progresses from here. Over-all, another really good video showing how demanding this wonderful game is. Keep em coming.
On a tough track like that, with the wind howling, I would have been struggling to break 90. Just goes to show that there are many different levels... Pete had a great day and needed some luck to shoot even par, Fryer had an off day and shot +11. Meanwhile, put a touring pro with them and they probably would have shot a 67 and then lamented that they left 2 or 3 shots out on the course. Great content, always nice to see you put yourself out there even when you're not at your best. Put in the work and try again. 🙂
A great outing at my old club S&A it's certainly tough out there in the wind. The Old ladies looking great 👍 I've seen a number of changes over my 30 years there as course manager but it's good to be retired.
That was a brutal test of golf. It was some of the best play I've seen from Peter. If he can maintain that attitude when it counts, it'll be amazing. Maybe it's just because it was on your channel, Matt, but Peter didn't seem to be beating himself up at all... Maybe he should just always act as the zen Master; the sensei if calm.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. You should warm up before hand. I'm nowhere as good as you but I do try and warm up before I play. On the Range, Chipping and Putting.
In the rough and talking about playing 15 yard low fades, setting expectations mega high for reality a 1 in 5 shot say, then being gutted when it doesn't work out. Then flips 180 to being in a pot bunker talking about OB and train tracks behind, setting expectations low. Need a better mental pre shot routine.
I’ve been watching a ton of golf lately and it’s shocking to me to see people in layers considering my local forecast is calling for north of 100 degrees Fahrenheit this week. I live in the American south. It’s cooking us.
Random question, what glove is Matt Fryer wearing? And would it be appropriate in hot, sticky weather? Second question, will we see Tom Fearon in any future videos?
We have a saying in the military and law enforcement. Fight Like You Train. If you train like crap; you are going to fight like crap. Since I got into golf 4 seasons ago (reason I call it "seasons" is because where I live it snows for 6 months out of the year) I have the same attitude towards golf and practicing. Ervin C.
I love watching you two play together. I don't think most amateur golfers really understand how much of a mental game golf truly is, over all other sports. I think it's about 75% - 80%. That mental part is, in my opinion, what sets tour players apart from amateurs and other pros. What other sport requires absolute precision on every play (by just one player) in order to compete at the highest level. Every shot (play) requires the highest concentration and calculation, in order to compete at a high level. I know many golfers who exhibit the right mechanics to play the game "well". Very few possess the ability mentally, to compete at the highest level continuously.
Matt we all have off days, you are a good golfer just trust in yourself and you’ll be fine, I’m am an amateur and I take like it when good golfers have bad days as it shows me that we can all have a bad day, golf is hard
I’ve seen a few videos where Matt is playing poorly and he is hard to handle…you can see it on Pete’s face on a few holes that he is gritting it through…I’ve had my fair share of these as a weekend golfer but after a few years of golf, you gotta to learn to love the game good or bad…I’m glad I watched this video…playing Whiskey Creek in MD tomorrow and this will be a reminder to me, don’t be a Matt
I am always amazed, how many of the golf youtubers start rounds without warming up properly. Most of them are teaching pros, so they should know better. But then again, when I first played traditional golf courses on the British isles, I was also amazed, how many of them don't even have a proper driving range.
Pete changed approach went ping driver and irons and playing far more consistent score You can play without doubt its game approach which is not easy while trying to make info based content and concentrate
Matt, what would Matt the coach say to a student doing the same as you, then implement it. Pete always goes on about Phil Kelly cleaning up in the Lancashire region. Why not get him on to give you a serial winners view on what it takes. Before that, im sorry to say that if you dont switch on and really take this journey seriously, you will inevitably fail. You are a good player, but nowt comes easy. It will be interesting to see your progress. ❤❤
I honestly believe that you two are the most genuine YT golfers. Great content and showing the mistakes we all make as amateurs, thanks. Gives us all hints.
the best duo in youtube golf is back! gonna be a good one.

When youre making Peter Finch look like a beacon of mental strength…you’d want to have a word with yourself

Good laugh for sure
Chin up Matt we’ve all had those rounds. On the positive side you 2 have absolutely the best chemistry and best content on the tube. Thanks for the entertainment and lessons can’t wait for the next Record Breaker’s

I listen to both you guys as well as Golfside kick. All you guys give me different advice but all have helped.
Looked brutal in that wind. Fantastic scoring from Pete. Chin up Matt - bit of practice and you’re there again. My favorite two you tube golfers to watch - best banter by a long way.
First 5 holes in. And it’s like watching Rick play!!
Finchy played fabulous (the Lab putter is money). Matt, I have watched a few of your videos before...never seen you play this bad. None the less, I just subscribed.

As usual, this is quality watching. And you've come up with another interesting format, Matt. Great stuff.
Great to see you play such a tough heath/links course. Peter should head to us at Hollinwell (past open final qualifying venue)as part of quest for the open. We'd be happy to host :)
Great video and shows the value of staying patient and positive. Well done to keep it going in that weather. More of these in the red videos.
Fryer: “I had a great swing thought… don’t top it” 😂😂
Really impressive golf Feter Pinch, and also the way you both banter away, it is clear you are excellent friends.
Thanks for the video Matt and Pete. That course looks terrific. Pete’s driving is outstanding.
Playing in this much wind is so incredibly challenging, really enjoyed the video!
Another brilliant vlog, mistakes, eagles , had the lot ,love the banter between you two,Pete trying to be encouraging, when inside really laughing his nuts off.keep them coming guys👍
Great Video Matt and Pete, Some Class Golf From Pete 👌🏌♂⛳🦅
great show. Sometimes you adapt to the wind and sometimes it's got you. Can't wait to see the next video. Thank you
Love matt, love pete… what could be better?
Good to see you two back in action. You're both good for each other on content. (Record breakers). You should do more.
How's Andy cartdog doing? Nearly got a job with him as content producer.
How you both found your balls in rough so many times is Insane 😅😅😅
Having 5 people with cameras taking shots from landing spots helps a lot
What a brutal course, and to play it in that wind! The elements certainly conspired to break / prevent any chance of Matt getting some confidence, and without that you just can't help but score big. A real blinder from Pete though - probably the best mental approach Ive seen from him so far, and preaching Padraig's mantra no less!!😂😂
Really enjoy when you guys do a video together! Oh and maybe a warm up? Couple shots maybe one or two putts lol
I really enjoy the two of you together. Always a good exchange.
Will comment again at the end.
That was an entertaining round.
Peter really has improved over-all. A few yips still but ball striking has improved a lot. I believe his session with Paddy really steadied his mental game.

Mental game mate. Take the golf sidekick approach 🤟
Waiting for another "Record Breakers"! When will the next one air? Fan of your channel and Peter's.

Great content, always nice to see you put yourself out there even when you're not at your best. Put in the work and try again. 🙂
Agree with a lot of the other comments: great pair to watch
My home course has a train running through the middle of it! Agree that railway's can make a course.
Brilliant again Matt. Well played Peter 👏👏👏
Brilliant video
Paddy would have had a field day with Matt's attitude 😅
Great content. Need a Carter, Fryer, Finch, Shiels reunion.
You guys are very, very good at finding your golf balls! I'd have lost every single ball in that long fescue.
Course management is still key and playing percentage shots would benefit you more I feel
A great outing at my old club S&A it's certainly tough out there in the wind. The Old ladies looking great 👍 I've seen a number of changes over my 30 years there as course manager but it's good to be retired.

course looks stunning
and petes eagles were stunning
If you warm up beforehand, it helps you work out the miss hits. ⛳️
Feeling your pain Matt, just one of them days. Loved Peters joke about the the ball being in a better place. Great entertainment.
Matt’s a bundle of laughs must be great playing with him all day
Thanks glad you get my humor
I really love Matts attitude to the game and his playing mates. Full of wit and humility. It would be brilliant to play a round with him.
S&A.... what a phenomenal course!
Pete talking crazy 15:35 😂😂😂
16:00 - is that a golf ball in your pocket or are you just "pleased" to see Matt? 😂😂😂
Baby's arm pete
Congratulations Matt on bringing my game to the first hole 😂
Love it gents, just missing Carter and Rick, will we ever see the OG fab 4 back together?
"The ball's in a better place" 🤣 Pete stop it
Matt every off shot , I hate golf .😂 Some attitude ha ha . Absolutely love this .
Amazing Eagles by Pete.
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.
You should warm up before hand. I'm nowhere as good as you but I do try and warm up before I play. On the Range, Chipping and Putting.
A proper warm up would be a good start
I feel for you Matt, that round has summed up my golf this season so far 😢
What a beautiful golf course
One of the premier links courses in the UK in a 2 club wind. It's supposed to be a test. "I did pull it slightly" !!! What a course that is BTW.
Pete giving it the best warm up you’ll see all series 🤣🤣
Matt still shot an 82. I have only shot that twice in my life... good on ya Fryer
I prefer the vibes 😀 of the Record Breakers series 👍❤️⛳️
'A working man's par' 🤣😂
Fryer “my body couldn’t feel anyless useless” ermmm we know what you mean Matty!
Was painful seeing Pete have to tell his friend that his attitude sucks and that in the past it has created an unenjoyable experience for him..
True words softly spoken.
In the rough and talking about playing 15 yard low fades, setting expectations mega high for reality a 1 in 5 shot say, then being gutted when it doesn't work out. You two should do the Grant/Bryan Bros series of "Making the Cut", but do Open venues.
What are all the dark green circles on the greens?
Bad idea stroke play atm the rough is deadly 😂😂😂. Good luck
2 holes in ..... told ya 😂😂😂
Watched the first two tee shots and screamed at the iPad. No warm up, no practice putting and you talk about level par in a PGA event. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice to see some UK YT’s. There’s a saturation of US YT’s. Less cringy.
The Dream team!
You know it
2 Birdies, 3 Eagles and level Par...Interesting day at the office!
Felt myself shouting at the tv for you to get some shaft lean !
I’ve been watching a ton of golf lately and it’s shocking to me to see people in layers considering my local forecast is calling for north of 100 degrees Fahrenheit this week. I live in the American south. It’s cooking us.
Got a little beat up there, but you finished the round with 14 clubs still in the bag!
Random question, what glove is Matt Fryer wearing? And would it be appropriate in hot, sticky weather?
Second question, will we see Tom Fearon in any future videos?
Matt if you need to do an episode 0 for a tier below Pete let me know...I could have told you to warm up...
"That's why the game's so stupid" is exactly why I play it😂 I needed that chuckle.
We have a saying in the military and law enforcement. Fight Like You Train. If you train like crap; you are going to fight like crap. Lol, first two holes seem very similiar to my game. It's always because I'm stiff too😂😂😂
Matt we all have off days, you are a good golfer just trust in yourself and you’ll be fine, I’m am an amateur and I take like it when good golfers have bad days as it shows me that we can all have a bad day, golf is hard
Great Eagles! However what puzzles me is the number of drives missing the fairway! If it's me, understandable ... but such fine scratch players? 😶
Who ll be the pga tour pro? Active or a retired player?
Active....
@@Mattfryergolfa Mizuno PGA active pro?
When it’s your day,it’s your day. Not today Matt but tomorrow is another chance. Form is temporary, class is permanent
I think that golf would be less stressful if you were able to take a second shot (that doesn’t count) when you miss hit in order to perfect your game.
Tough track and tough conditions
I am always amazed, how many of the golf youtubers start rounds without warming up properly. Most of them are teaching pros, so they should know better. You are a good player, but nowt comes easy. It will be interesting to see your progress. ❤❤
Are Matt and Peter golf professionals? Everyone has bad rounds but jeez louise
Want to play good golf? Put in the work and practice. Leave the excuses in the car and hit the ball!
Philosophical Finchy🧐
I wonder if Matt warmed up before the round?
34 mins in, PF "massive clump behind the ball", don't be so hard on yourself 😂
and to prove it, PF chips in from the rough. Golf eh?😊
