Cool! I remember seeing pictures of 2816 at Steamtown. What a wonderfully restored locomotive it is! One of my co-workers who is a crew member on 2816 told me that CP 2816 is no longer running, and that the engine is kept inside a secure facility surrounded by armed guards.
You know, as a proud American, I never thought to see myself liking a lot of CP steam power. But this one takes the cake, all of it! Well... At least save some for me of course.
This is a great spot, just west of Kamloops , Prov. Park, Called JUNIPER BEACH, A CAMP ground. Just yards away from the THOMPSON River CP on the far side of the river, 50 to60 yards away , and CN 50 yards to the NORTH. Plus the smell of airomatic junipers, YA can't Beat IT!!
what was with the steam engine? was the steam engine oil fired was that an older train? thanks for some outstanding scenery and a very outstanding video
Shame about the idiot standing in the middle of the crossing in the first sequence, however another superbly shot and produced video of this magnificent loco...Bob
Great video, although personally, I don’t like steam locomotive/diesel mix. There always seem to be an idiot who will get in the way of great shot, such as in the beginning. For that purpose I avoid railfans and do my trackside photography away from everybody. 60+ years now.
Now this is one of my favorite video of 2816 ever.
The Royal Hudson rolls again... What a SUPERB piece of mastery!

A facility surrounded by armed guards?! Wow, 2816 must be a valuable asset of CP.
Well, they are rebuilding her in preparation for that special trip on the CPKC system from Canada to Mexico...
Superb videography. Canadian landscapes and geography are beautiful [eye candy]

The scenry & the engine are beautiful.
Very nice video. A fine train in a formidable landscape. Thumbs up! :)
There will ALWAYS be ignorant people who only care themselves. Regardless of that, this was STILL an awesome video!! Thanks!!
Whoever the engineer was, props to him for turning off those ugly ditchlights.
Excellent video.
Beautiful landscape and train.

With the news that the CP railroad is going restore this locomotive that brings another chapter in the steam revival.
Is it okay if I can post a clip of this video on TikTok? I’ll give you credit.
Why ruin an amazing video on an absolutely horrible app like TikTok? And don’t ever steal others content, get out and film your own

@robmasterman
agreed... why are there such ignorant people out there??
They should just stand in the middle of the tracks and not move for that perfect shot!
Good luck 2good
