If we couldn’t go outside continued watching old episodes of Kung Fu, Charlie Chan and Svengoolie, and Vincent Price movies. Saturday morning and afternoon, were fun but we had so many chores and yard work as well. GOOD TIMES
Times that you don't see much of nowadays though there are some of those titles in another location in the Net but we all know it isn't the same and Saturday Morning and Afternoon cartoons are extinct.

Battle of the Planets was the best cartoon in the 80's. Action, drama, badass spaceship, small rip off of Star Wars, but that was ok. Who remembers Star Blazers?

Bravestarr sounds insane (and that's because it was), but it was actually really well-made for the time. I think I read somewhere that the show's creative team butted heads with the toy companies a lot, and that's why it got cancelled. GoBots are back on the air. METV has introduced a new spin-off channel called "METV Toons." Gobots runs on weekends around 2 am, which is a terrible time slot but hey it's on. Discovery Family ran both the classic GI Joe and G1 Transformers cartoons up until a couple of years ago when they cancelled both for the new modern Transformers like "Rescue Bots."
I always liked that in the show MASK, the villains - with their acronym - actually acknowledged they were Vicious & Evil. And you didn't mention Centurions.
The Flintstones lasted as it was pretty much an adult sitcom in animated form, and Sooby-Doo while not at the Flintstones level, it was better quality than similar offerings of the period. The unique aspect of Scooby just connected with kids and adults, which led to even Hanna-Barbera cannibalizing its own show with tons of copy cat offerings(trying to catch lightning twice). I enjoyed many of the shows seen in this video, but the key to lasting success is syndication, and most of these shows only lasted a season, or two at most. Mr. T as an example was fairly decent, but it would only last as long as his career was relevant, and most of these shows met the same fate. Transformers and GI Joe were the toy lines to beat and a show like the Go-Bots which I enjoyed, just had zero chance of success against the better toys and shows.
Mr. T always used to say: "My first name is Mr, my middle name is that period, and my last name is T." But the cartoon was Mister T. I pity the fool who misspells Mr. T's name.
Special shout out to Turbo Teen, as I watch that show every week and now as an adult, I have to ask my younger self, what were you smoking? LOL Another of my favorites from the 80's was Goldie Gold and Action Jack, as it somewhat had the Scooby-Doo mystery vibes, but the outlandish lifestyle of Richie Rich(the best of both worlds).
As a kid in the 1980s my all time favorite cartoon at the time was The Smurfs. I had a lot of the Smurfs memorabilia! My obsession with them drove my older sister right up the wall! 😂
As a young kid in the early 80s my fave VHSs were the Transformers movie and the battle for gobotron arc of gobots. I used to rent gobots & rock lords all the time too. I dont think all the shows here made it to the UK; but does anyone else remember Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light?
There's this cartoon I once saw when I was probably four or five back in '83 or '84. I'm not sure if it's indeed from the 80's or the 70's, but back then we were still getting reruns of obscure Hannah-Barbera cartoons like the Hair Bear Bunch and Funky Phantom. Anyway it was about three dogs, I'm not even sure if they're dogs actually, who had this sort of power they use when they're in a pinch. They would "merge" into this "Super Dog" that emitted a flash of light that scares away the monster of the day. By merge what they actually do is two of them, the taller ones, would stand so close together that their faces kinda look like they become one. Then one of the taller dogs who wears a hat and is actually the coward of the trio makes his hat wider so it'll fit his and the other dog, who's actually the leader's smushed together heads. Then the smallest and strongest dog lifts the two to complete their "Fused" glowing form. I'm not sure if it's a Hannah Barbera show or not but I remember it being aired in between Paw Paw Bears and The Hair Bear Bunch.
I finally figured out what cartoon this was... Pandamonium and it was from MGM Studios... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandamonium_(TV_series) And I was wrong, they were Pandas and not dogs.

silverhawks was a great cartoon and had some of the best toys including a figure with saw for a hand.

I rememberwatching this in the 80s and 90s when i was a kid here in the philippines, almost every weekends saturday and sunday are all cartoons and tokosatsu series was aired in that time...missed those days...😊
M.A.S.K, Go-Bots, Mr.T, Transformers, Robocop, COPS, Turbo-Teen......... Among the other more common cartoons of the 80s, I remember very well. M.A.S.K was probably my all-time favorite. I had a decent collection of those toys when that show peaked

Bionic Six! Those had a lot of the prod staff names in Japanese and all episodes were stunningly well-drawn and detailed - plus cool music to boot!

Back in the day, and I used to watch cartoons on Saturday Mornings. My, favorite cartoon was Bugs Bunny, Road Runner Hour.
I,subscribed to TV,Guide Magazine for the TV,Listening s. When, I received my new TV Guide and Bugs Bunny was on the Cover of TV Guide. Bugs Bunny is 84,YEARS YOUNG ! 9:04
