Ignore the trolls you are doing great. I started my zwift journey a couple years ago 115kg cat D Now 97kg and a struggling cat C but I still enjoy the races. Like you say you are at least doing exercise rather than sitting on the sofa 👍
Very true! Thanks. 🙌 Congrats on the weightloss and power gain. 💪
You’re riding a bike instead of sitting on the sofa eating pizza! Doesn’t matter if it’s real or virtual you’re still doing it. Keep strong! 💪💪💪
Exactly! Thanks Ben. 👍
I’m a cyclist/zwifter and I love to see your zwifting videos and couldn’t care less if you’re zwifting on a penny farthing, I still find them entertaining. Keep them coming 💪🏽👍🏼
Penny Farthing...😂 I nearly spat my tea out. That would make for one awesome video... (looks up Panny Farthing on Ebay).
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support. 🙏🙌
The most powerful thing in all of this is the example you are setting to your kids. You are great, keep it up. 👍🏼
Thanks. I'll tell them this. 😅
It takes a huge level of self confidence to put yourself out there the way you do. As others have said, there will always be trolls and naysayers. I really appreciate your attitude in these videos! Thanks again for sharing your journey!
As long as people like you watch them then it's worth it. 🙏
Your videos are fun, and have great content, keep doing what your doing Ryan, love following your journey
Thank you 🙏
LOL. I love the comedic part of your video. You are a great story teller. That, along with your struggle to get better, makes me look forward to your upcoming videos. I can't wait till your next video!
Thank you! I've got a new Zwift race vid planned for next week and it's a special one.
I'm just starting out, admittedly from watching you, it's inspired me. I don't care if I'm bad at it but I'm having fun. If people watch my videos then they watch it, if they don't then they don't. I see so many Zwift content creators touting the top end gear and bikes, but I don't want to do that. You show that Zwift is simply (as you say) a vitual avatar, on a virtual track, on a static bike indoors. If you're finding it fun then that's all that matters. I'm the same.
It doesn't matter at all that you're not a pro, very few are. You've shown me that if you simply grind and work, you'll get where you want to be. What makes you different is that you're just showing what you do and you let people make their own decisions. It's great.
Keep going, dude!
Thank you CFC! I appreciate the support. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm gonna check out your channel. 👍😘
Great video!
Hi Ryan, you are my fav Zwift TH-camr purely because of your emotion. You put your heart into everything, and are passionate about what you do! I started watched your videos when I first got into Zwift. Tonight I did a tour de Zwift and kept up with the B cat riders. I’m now Cat C and lost a total of 12Kg in 3 months. I hope this doesn’t come across as bragging. I’m just saying your videos inspired me a lot and helped me on this journey. You are a top bloke and your kids seem lovely, supportive and caring and clearly want the best for you, keep them close. Keep this vids coming pal, I look forward to them!
Thank you Robbo. I don't think that's bragging, I think that's awesome! Keeping up with a Category above you is all our ambitions.
I'm pleased you found my channel and you enjoy my vids. I'll show my kids your comment, they'll appreciate it. Ride on!
Great video! 😊
Great video, please continue
Lovely vid! Hope to see you in one of these Cat D races :) Ride on!
Brilliant video. Loving the fitness journey. Keep them coming. 👍
Mate you are a legend!!
Very inspiring video Ray. Must try the double Muckle Yin soon
Great video, Ryan! 🎉 The win is a coming! 💪 🚲
Great video thanks you are great runner, and only a matter of time will be in zwift cycling, 😊
Love it. Keep doing you, racing and exploring.
Will do! Thank you.
It's all so relateble. Thanks for uploading and i learn alot from you 🙏
Thanks. Im pleased you like my vids. 💪🙌
You are a inspiration ✨️ and a great youtuber 😊
Thank you Dewi. I really appreciate that!
Recently discovered your channel. Really enjoying your content and your amazing journey. Keep it up. 👍
I'm very pleased you found my channel and enjoy my vids. Thanks for watching. 🙌
Love the Zwift content. Don’t change as I find it extremely entertaining. Love your honesty pal.
Love the videos. Enjoy watching your progress. Keep going 😊
Thanks Andy. 🙏
I may be wrong, but I think even troll comments are "engagement" that youtube loves so it helps the channel? I just got back from the UK and tried to keep up my fitness by jogging instead of cycling and my knees are not happy. Lovely time dragging my future stepdaughter on a "proper English jog" through a lot of mud but I'm not fond of being reminded of my multiple knee surgeries when in exercise. Keep going Ryan, love to see the family supporting your journey.
Love the content! keep it coming! It keeps me coming back and trying to be better than I was yesterday!
I appreciate that Raymond. 💪
I really like your videos and they helped me to get my arse up again. Keep it up 👌
Good for you. Thanks for watching.
You are absolutely right. Keep up the good work, your work.
Thanks. Will do. 🙌
Fantastic video Ryan bravo sir 👏
Keep em coming. Your an inspiring guy with your weight loss journey 😊
Thank you! Will do. 👍
I love these videos Ryan. Keep up the great work. Zwift racing is soooo adictive and really is so much fun. Perfect way to get fit and stay motivated. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Thanks. 🙌
I appreciate the comment and the watch. 👍
AMAZING! You are getting closer and closer to a win. It looks like your 15s - 1min power has increased also. Cool to see how you try different strategies, I wanted it to work so bad at the end lol. I was also surprised that attack at the start worked. Maybe try once for a change to spend as little energy as possible (also at the start) in the pack while staying near the front (!) with the goal to be as fresh as possible near the finish.
Ride on Ryan, great work inspiring others. We all have our own path to follow 👌🏻
Ride on Leon. Thank you. 🙌
I really enjoy your videos Ryan your enthusiasm and determination has really inspired me to focus on my own cycling journey keep up the good work and keep posting those videos you’re quickly becoming one of my favourite channels 👍
Thanks Alec. I will do! 🙌
I really enjoy your videos Ryan, there aren't many I've subscribed to where I watch the whole video without stopping... you are one of them! Keep up the good work 🤙🏼
That's awesome feedback. Thank you. 🙏🙌
Well said, Englishman! This mirrors my wife's journey - Thanks! Making the wheels go around is the win!
Yea , this happens. I was in a sprint finish when my internet froze for a split second and next thing I know I'm 3rd. So annoying but we live to ride another day. Keep up the good work and never give up never surrender !
Hey Ryan, I always look forward to your videos and have found them to be great motivation for my own Zwift journey.
Started zwifting round about the same time as you and your channel has been my go to since then.
Keep going and doing you, chapeau 👍🏼
Thanks Eddie. That's great to hear. 💪
Ryan you are an absolute beast for the sole reason you go out there and give it your best day in and day out. Keep tearing up
Personally, i loved the format of this posting. Thanks for the effort
You make great content 👏 👌 😊
Absolutely brilliant video mate. You do know what you're doing. You're putting yourself out there, racing. You're doing it your way. Everyone does it their own way. Whatever works for you is good. Stick with it. You're doing amazing. More zwift videos mate!
Thanks GP. 🙌
I enjoyed you video as usual. I would like to see more about weight loss and also your zwift journey.
Ok. I've got a good Zwift racing video coming next week. 😀
Fantastic Ryan :) I love your videos. And it will always be those trolls on the internet. What does not kill us makes us stronger, I use this quote in everything I do :). I use a 22 year old Road Bike, event in real life races/group rides. And the most comments I get is that almost every one I meet in real life with that bike thinks its a really cool classic bike. "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can".
Im in a cycling club called Team Valhalla where we are riding Zwift together, both Group Rides, races and Team Time Trial and we have a quote who describe who we are "I dont stop when Im tired, I stop when Im done." We have many members in all categories so if you ever want to join us let me know and I will help you with it.
Never stop being you my mate, love that you are you regardless of what anyone think. You are a Hero in my book.
Richard Trefjord
Thanks Richard. I really appreciate that! I'm pleased you enjoy my vids. Cheers for the comment.
Your can do attitude is why I watch and will continue to. It's infectious.
🙏🙌
Ryan, just keep doing what you're doing! You're doing good, & you'll never please everyone. I find it motivating & entertaining if that counts for anything.
Cheers Elliot. 🙌
Another great video Ryan - so much wisdom there. I've been backing off doing the full gas efforts recently because it's just too painful but you reminded me that the feeling you get afterwards when you do is unsurpassed so you have given this zwifter a kick up the backside!
Thanks Nick. Good luck. 🍀🙌
I'm just about to turn 60 and found your videos just before Christmas time and now look forward to the next one coming out.the talking parts
are brilliant giving a better understanding of how to use zwift and how we all feel afterwards keep it up big man
Inspirational
Thank you Mick. ❤️
I really appreciate that. 🙌 Ride on!
You've got a great talent for building a story. Love the zwift content. And the story about fun being the most important part is so true. Gonna go do a race now myself
Thanks! Good luck in your race. Go smash it.
That was cracy exciting. I really thought you had that last race in the bag. I was screaming at my screen for you to win. But you will get there! (if you are not bumped to C before getting your win) I really enjoy your videos both on zwift and on running. Keep up the good work!
I'm scared to weigh myself as that's the only thing keeping me under 2.5wkg. I nearly had it. I went too early.
Hi Ryan, I really enjoy your videos. I’ve only raced on Zwift once in cat D and got into cat C after that, and I am too scared too try. Your videos help motivate me to just go for it. As I also run, I like both your Zwift and running content. Keep up the good work!
Thanks. Im pleased you enjoy my vids. I appreciate the comment. 🙏🙌
Well done Ryan. Always look forward to your videos. You’re a better Zwifter than me.
I doubt that but I appreciate the compliment. 🙌
Fantastic journey, made me quite emotional in parts in regards the loss of your grandparents and support of your girls. Well done fella; truly inspirational and shows anyone can do it, step by step & day by day!👍💪
Cheers rhuggins. I really appreciate that. Ride On!
Well done Ryan 👏 you keep doing what your doing, and you WILL get that win, I will see you at the 7pm race today 👍 keep Zwifting..
Thanks for joining the race. Unbelievable turnout. 🙌
Ryan, I really enjoy watching the content that you create. I'm a zwifter , but not a racer. Watching you figure out how to get the best out of yourself is what keeps me coming back. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep watching! Thank you so much.
Thanks JS. Ride On!
Your videos are awesome.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. 🙌🙏
Nice one. If you are having fun and getting fitter, you are doing great! Zwift is just a game. I wouldn’t read too much into certain comments.
Awesome video and very inspiring. I adored the choice of music for the breakaway. If I ever get a win on Zwift it's usually from a break. I love the romanticism of trying a long shot, you never know when it's going to stick.
A hail Mary breakaway gets the Adrenaline going. I feel like superman for attempting it.
That final race was epic, I am sure you agree the initial sprint was a waste. You are a solid D sprinter in the last 900 meters, good job!
I loved the editing on your breakaway race, that was a really cool video and I loved how you captured the feeling of giving something your all and learning from the experience. Was super excited to see that I ended up in a race with you the other day, hope to see more of you on youtube and in Zwift in the future!
Thanks! Pleased we raced together, I bet you beat me. :)
@@RyanCondon Not that race, but I'll get ya next time!
Hi Ryan. I'm a bit behind with watching your videos, but on a mission to catch up and get back up to date with your Zwift progress. 🙂 I laughed out loud when you said 'Achterbahn' - that course flattened me on the Tour de Zwift, destroying my cockiness about what I was taking on after doing the Alpe a coupe of times. 😂
Achterbahn was brutal. In no rush to redo that course. 😅
Yay to Scarlet for providing encouragement during your intro ❤👍
Cheers Kate 😃
watched a few of your videos, and got inspired to get zwift myself, so installing right now :D Have to lose some weight, and have been a cyclist many years ago. Your videos are fun to watch. thanks!
Good for you Andrew. 🙌
great vid man, back seating everything might be the biggest legacy of the visual internet. I find your vibe really inspiring. I was doing AdZ this last weekend and i kept saying to myself "I smashed that corner!" (i probably didn't) and "I'm X many km into the climb!" (i'm a derpy american using miles units)
Thanks Russ. I appreciate the kind words. Nothing derpy about what you're doing my friend. 🙏💪🇺🇸
@RyanCondon Im an overweight runner/sometime cyclist so I feel your pain. I think you are doing amazing you must be getting on for having lost 100kg now so who cares if you don't know everything. Surely the fun in some of these things is learning. Keep up the awesome work.
Thanks! I appreciate that. What I don't know about Zwift I make up for in what I know about motivating myself. 🙌
As you said, if you don't like it, jump to another video! I love your videos! They have me glued to the screen and I don't separate until the end! Thank you for your videos.
That's great to hear. I'm pleased you enjoy the talk. 😅
Thank you for saying. 🙌
You are doing great job man. Fantastic work. I can't wait to see you wearing proper slim fit cycling kit some time in the future :) .. but this will come for sure :)
Thanks!
I'm not sure, even if I lose another few KG and tone upto Ryan Gosling level, I'll ever NOT feel self conscious in a skin tight lycra outfit. 🤣
Thank you for the watch and the compliment. 👌
Great video Ryan, yes I agree there are lots of opinions and ideas about the best way of doing things, but although we are kinda doing the same thing on a bike we are all different, so I guess through trial and error you’ll figure what works for you. Any advice I give to anyone is meant to be helpful and as just something to try. Personally I’ve been cycling for 45 years (😮 just turned 50) and still learning! Great riding with you the other night with the kaboom crew, looking forward to the video. 👍
Thanks Alan. I appreciate that! It was great to ride with you, I saw you supporting. That race was epic!! Thanks again for joining.
Ryan, your progress is incredible, you are an inspiration to many mate. F*** everybody else, just do you.
I appreciate that. Cheers 💪
I love your videos because they're so relatable to my own journey into zwift. Thankfully you're way too mentally strong to let those trolls get to you, and i hope you keep making videos for a long time. It takes guts to make videos like this, and i wish more cat C and D riders would make vids of their experience. As Zwift is basically a video game, you might get some good ideas, if you go and see what the people over at Twitch use as their video recording setups. Many of them have descriptions of their gear in their "about me" sections. But you're doing a great job, so keep it up. :)
Thank you my friend. 🙌
For context - I started following you several weeks ago after I came across one of your Zwift videos. I love your content as (to me) it comes across very genuine and "fly on the wall" not "manufactured" about a very heavy man who was very unfit and wanting to change. Boy have you changed.
I signed up for the race tonight (09/02//024), then did the race as a Cat C..... prior to the race .. I walked the dog and "Listened to >>>>this
Thanks WolfGirl. 🙏
I will do!
Thanks for joining the race, it was great fun. 🙌
Well intentioned advice coming: breakaways are typically more difficult on flat courses, as draft advantage is so important at higher speeds. Not saying you shouldn't keep trying, but definitely give yourself a big pay on the back when you do pull it off!
Thanks 😅 I appreciate that tip. It makes sense.
I went too early. I'm gonna try it again on a course with rollers.
Great video. I love the way you develop strategies to achieve your first win on Zwift. Keep up the great work and content. I'm an inspired follower also striving for my first Cat D win. I'm a few months behind you and still 107kgs but making progress 😊
Thanks Kevin. I doubt you're behind, I pretend what I'm doing is working. 😅
I reckon a breakaway is my best chance so gonna practice them.
@@RyanCondon You almost had it!
You’ve been an inspiration to me and so many others. I’ve taken up Zwift off the back of your content !! Keep up the good work mate 👏🏻👏🏻
Thats great Mark. Thanks for the compliment. I wish I was on commission from Zwift. 🤣
@@RyanCondon you’re doing great mate. Love the journey you’ve been on and I’ve watched all of your videos to date 👍🏻👍🏻
Brilliant video Ryan and congrats on your progression on Zwift. I'm just new to Zwifting too (been a road cyclist for decades), but unlike your good self I'm finding more joy in training than racing. I do races, but have never had the urge to win. I just want to improve my ability. I started at an FTP of 201 and in 4 months I'm now up at 215. Moved from Cat D to Cat C and that kind of killed my enjoyment in racing. Currently 3 weeks through the Build Me Up training program and seeing so much improvement. Keep up the job work Ryan and Zwift on mate 👍
Thank you for sharing your progress.. That's awesome to read. I know that the training plans work and benefit many riders. I need to scratch this itch then I can maybe work on my cycling ability.
Ryan you’re waffling 😂the videos are great mate keep
It up 👍 if you never made mistakes you would never learn 🤷♂️
😂 Thanks Nik
Ryan, I've been Zwifting for about 3 years now, but only a few races over that time. Your videos have inspired me to go back and try a few more races. Like you, I'm a big body on a bike (111 kg) and a bit on the older side (64), so hilly courses can be difficult, but give me rollers and I have a shot. Keep producing these Zwift videos, VERY enjoyable.
Good luck in your races. I love racing, I've come a long way and I'm sure you will too. Remember age is just a number. 🙏👌💪
17:37 Loving the video, thank you for your perspective!
Since you are really getting into racing, are you going to start following a structured training plan? Something like TrainerRoad?
Probably not. I enjoy racing and I run alot so when I do have time for the bike I like to use it to race.
You’ve inspired me to purchase a wahoo turbo trainer and give this zwift thing a go. Hope to see you (virtually) in a race soon 👍
Awesome. I should be on commission from Zwift. 😅
Good luck. Keep me updated. 👍
YOU GOT MY SUB MATE, RIDE ON!!
Cheers! RIDE on!
Well said. I love your authenticity and you are very motivating. I am a B rider (was even A+ in the past) and this goes to show that the level in which you're sporting is not relevant. It's much more important to just enjoy it and hade fun.
Thank you. 👌💪
I enjoy your videos, in terms of Zwift gear and all that crap, I use a music stand, and a bike I cycled to Italy on. Let the moaners moan, and you crack on. Great work on your journey; keep up the great work!
Also I’m sat here with stitches in my abdomen and not able to ride or run right now so I’m very jealous ☹️☹️
I hope you recover soon. All the best and thanks for the supportive comment. Pleased you enjoyed the vid. 🙌
i love the talk.
Thank you 🙏
being a mid cat b rider, I find your journey very interesting. progress have been flat the last months, and trying to stay motivated is as tuff in B as in D guess it just never gets easier. chasing first win in a cat is just tuff,
We did a race together this week. I smiled when I saw your name in the results. Great effort!
Great to race with you. Thanks for watching. 🙌
Im Watching this instead of warming up for the race tonight !
😂 Awesome race btw. Thanks for joining. I saw you in the pen and on the finish line. 🙏💪🙌
Great video, love the ambition to try a breakaway. near impossible to do from the start but it certainly worked in your favour to thin the pack down. nearly had it at the end as you say maybe go slightly later or get hold of a couple team mates to try break with you could be all the difference.
I like a mixture of talking and video not all one of other or It will tend to lose my interest so this was perfect
Thanks Rhino Racing. I'm pleased I got the balance right for you.
I did go too early, inexperience and overenthusiasm. I'll try it again soon. Thanks for watching.
haha i was "egging you on" in that last race, 1.5km out with a fantastic momentum sling shot straight through the pack. I personally "go" at 1km-900m and try and catch everyone sleeping just like you did, as i don't have the +1k Watts sprint power. Great effort off the line splitting up everyone, then managing to recover enough to go again at the end 💪💪
Thanks Scott. I don't have a sprint atm (working on it) so I think my win is going to have to come from a breakaway I just went too early in this race.
I love your videos, and formats, and all the talking. Overcoming a hard challenge, achieving personal goals. It's fun, unique, and haters gonna hate :p With over 3000 subscribers, proves you're doing a great job!
Haha, lesson one of changing your equipment: always test it works as expected :p
Going early for a breakaway is the right move if you're not a sprinter! Keep at it, and you'll be able to hold that breakaway effort for longer :)
Thanks Jessica. I really appreciate that. 🙌🙏
This is true. 😅
I ❤ your Videos - u doing a great Job - Ride On... Greetings from Germany
Danke schön! Ich freue mich, dass dir meine Videos gefallen. Hallo aus Großbritannien.
Your comment at 8:20 is my exact philosophy. If it’s not fun I’ll stop. Until then I’m going to do what I do and enjoy myself even if that means I’m sprinting for 135th place like I did last night.
Your videos are very motivational for me. Keep up the great work and let the haters hate
That's exactly it! I'm pleased my point came across ok. 😅
I always sprint, even when I'm on my own at the end of a TDZ race. 💪
Keep up the great work my friend. 🙌🙏
@@RyanCondon for your race strategy I like to look at each race as it goes. I tend to find that an early break is rarely successful for me. I’ve had better success going for a longish sprint when I was in cat D. Now that I’m in cat C I’m holding on for dear life trying to stay with the front group. It’s been hard and I’ve been dropped more than I haven’t but I’m still having fun and pushing myself.
Seems this topic will never go away > "online haters have no filter or empathy". Just seems so much easier for people to be able to "try" and tear people down online; yes! frustrating but like most previous posts and your stats show, you have way more people enjoying and being positive about the content... so keep on as you say while you have fun.
Just got Zwift early December and really only started racing after finding your videos. Addicting is a great word considering the pain we all go through 😂. I also tried TDF racing, but just one before I jumped ship and just did the group rides. Like You I found the Flat is Fast and the smile on my face (well inside anyway) was amazing. I'd fall off my bike afterwards but doing sprints at the end were so rewarding (not that I won) but in being able to push yourself.
That's great to read that you're enjoying Zwift. I'm pleased you enjoy my vids. Thanks for the support. 🙌
We all started at level 1. ZWIFTCRAFT is like life, you learn as you go. Even level 100 elite zwifters are going to make mistakes. Going too early, going to fast, and so on, That’s why we race!!! Glad to see you are so emotionally invested in each ride. So curious to your new computer/recording equipment. I to have decided that it’s time for an upgrade. I’ve decided to build a dedicated computer for Zwift. Always keep it FUN!! Try doing the tour Zwift rides starting at the back and seeing how many people you can pass. TFC has mad Monday races, definitely something to look into. We do a split category. High and low of each category.. so instead of 4 there is 8 categories. Trial and error, it’s just like life outside the game. RIDE ON!!
Thanks for the comment! I'm pleased you enjoyed the vid. 👍
Good tip on passing through the pack. 🙌
Great video, keep having fun! For those hilly races, try turning the trainer difficulty down some, it will help. Please share a warmup video, I'd like to see what you are doing. Keep doing what you are doing, and you'll learn.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I might turn it down, currently on 100% I think from my last ADZ attempt and didn't turn it back down.
My warmups normally consist of a rushed panic spin in the pen or a longer slow ride around a random course if I get on with more time.
Between work and YT I unfortunately have to rush alot. Basically my warmup isn't anything special.
@@RyanCondon I'm sure you know how important that warmup is. That's why I asked to see it. No point in me commenting about something I don't know how you perform. I like to warmup with the pace partners, might as well get extra drops for it.
@@CBRMackie63 Im unsure what a warmup should look like so happy for some tips. I currently dont use the Robo Pacers but thats a good idea.
@@RyanCondon I'll record my warmup routine and load it to TH-cam. I've been meaning to do it for a while.
i really enjoy your videos while i'm on my bike and do zwifting. the whole live is not perfect....
Nice! Could not agree more. I am not fighting weight, as it never was an issue for me. But I have my own demons to combat for sure, such as 25+ years of heavy smoking. While seemingly being somewhat preconditioned athletically to be slightly above average, there is only one fight I care about doing bike. Beating myself. Because that's the only thing that matters to me. Subscirbed!
Thank you for the comment. Well said! 💪
Haters gonna hate. Keep doing what you are doing mate. It's inspired me to get off my backside and hit Zift on days when sitting on the couch would be the easy option.
Thanks Stephen. Good for you, getting up and going when the easier option is tempting. 🙌💪
I just started Zwift in December. I just screwed around for the first 15 levels or so getting used to it. I did the FTP and it put me in Cat C which I didn't really want right off the bat. Im a decently strong rider, i commute to work on bike every day but Im more endurance than speed/sprint. At this point im a mid Cat C rider in the 2 races i have done and im happy with that. Love zwift.
I'd take mid pack Cat C any day. Great place to start and build on. 💪
Thanks for watching. 👍
The 4 horse man was amazing thanks not my have finished , you are a master of the hard style, tip when you hit a high fitness, and you have a cold , please reset your ftp, half, ie mine was 305watts for 20min , I rest at 185watts, and improving by 16wats, made easy, I do not care about win or losing, like you i enjoyed improving from my lesson s😊
What smart bike are you using Ryan? I'll look you up on Zwift, we're in the same category and lord knows I could do with a bit of motivation. Great videos brother - keep it up
Thanks Chris. I use a Wattbike.
Please keep letting us know what races you're going to be in, so we can try to join you
