Hi mate .the bikes had new pistons etc ..it does 75mph on the flat .I've ported and polish it and change jetting etc ..but it been getting harder and harder to start ..so took apart and the cylinder has small hairline crack near top..so Am.looking for barrels but if not il.replace the cylinder liners ...am.trying to her to do 100mph ...she's fast 85mph downhill.thanks ..any help.is much appreciated
getting a CDI conversion, a slightly higher lift camshaft, ported heads and a slightly bigger diameter exhaust pipe would be fantastic for performance I've seen small engine drag bikes yeah CD175's running at 15,000 rpm's
if you're not really that concerned about fuel economy and more on just giving it more performance get Dual Flat Slide Carbs probably 22mm each but you'll have to fabricate a manifold with 2 separate intakes or 2 separate intake manifold for 1 each carb or just Turbocharge / Supercharge it on stock manifolds and carby but don't forget to upgrade your clutch.. better clutch material and stiffer clutch springs as stiff as it go! with an extra 3-5hp it would just slip on standard clutch sure it would ruin the clutch assembly after a while but you're not slipping at all would also recommend a Programmable CDI Upgrade.. it would be a massive job.. a lot of machining and tuning to do but it's worth it. Ignition Timing Adjustments just like that it's a whole lot less of a headache than messing about with its mechanical ignition advancing mechanism
I had one in 1975 and the speedometer used to have no problem reaching 80mph.
Thanks I've had 89mph out ..just put fresh piston in and thinner Cooper head gasket
Me too
Also when I eventually seized it up I had it re bored to 190, then it would do 85 no problem
I take it you have learned your lesson now.
What lesson
Flat out in shorts and t-shirt. Proper old school. 😃
Lol.luckly I didn't fall.off
Lots of blue smoke following you. Likely needs piston rings and has low compression making bike difficult to start.
How fast did you go?

@@Boris7Racing the only way a cd175 noddy will do the ton is if you throw it off a cliff
Sorry late reply she did 84mph ..then cam.locked up ..just done full rebuild again bigger piston .camshaft .copper head gasket etc she fast now
More fuel up top, less to start.

I have few ideas which il.be doing over the winter months .I welcome any ideas etc please

You will end up looking like Pizza if you come off
Actually your right I was running her in but should off put better gear on
What sprockets do you have in the bike?
Hi mate it's on standard size ...il.look later ..can't remember ...
What size would u recommend
I got mine to do 80 with my chin on the tank and my feet on the rear pegs
Yeah that'll do 100mph 😄
New rebore waiting on parts ..it blow up not long after
dropped out of an airplane
