A Don never wears Shorts!
The story about the anonymous call to James Gandolfini is quite intriguing. According to Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa in this show and their book "Woke Up This Morning," Gandolfini received a late-night phone call from an unknown number. The caller didn't identify himself but eventually said, "Listen, you're a great actor, we like what you're doing, but you got to know one thing: a don never wears shorts," and then hung up!
This line later made its way into "The Sopranos" in the S04 premiere, where Carmine Lupertazzi tells Tony Soprano, "A don doesn't wear shorts".
(Gandolfini was reportedly disturbed by the call, but there's no concrete evidence to suggest that the caller was actually a member of the mafia.)
