Skyy to get a 3 star pelt you need to kill the animal with a clear shot in the head or any other vital organs (use the dead eye to know which ones are) and with the correct gun. You could find a 3 star animal but if you use to much power in a small animal you will damage the pelt and if you kill a big animal like a bear with a non so powerful gun you will damage the pelt cause you have to shoot it multiple times to kill it. When you study an animal use the compendium to know which one is the best weapon to kill it.

Just a few hunting tips .... Legendary animals are separate from other animals. There are only 1 of each in the world. You can hunt them down with the legendary map that Hosea gave you when you went with him to hunt the bear. They do not have to be clean kills. Legendary pelts do not get damaged by how you kill them. You just have to kill it, skin it, and take it to the trapper. 3 star animals. I have found for me the best way to kill these animals and get the perfect pelt almost every time is with poison arrow headshots. Horse tip for you since you seem to be in love with the horses like I was. There is a solid white Arabian ( looks like Dutch's ) near Isabella lake. I was hoping you would see it when you went after Flacco. It's a little hard to see it because of the snow. Use your dead eye around that area and you should find it. There is also a legendary animal in that area. Another beautiful horse can be found around Brandywine drop. Happy hunting. 😊

1:47:56 😂😂 The guy asked you for help and you missed the shackles, shooting him in the foot. That's why he could only shuffle to run away😂 No wonder you were confused why he didn't thank you😂
Always drop the premium cigarettes in your satchel. You get to keep the cards that come with them. The wild horse left because you tamed it but didnt interact with it enough to bond before getting off. Always make sure you reach level 1 bond before leaving it alone.
You can try and do some low honor stuff don't worry too much just keep it balanced later in 3 or 2 more chapters you can start doing some good stuff to get your honor higher
A rifle is different from a repeater for the purposes of hunting. And a “long scope” rifle is also a different class. Keep checking the compendium or the Show Info tab to ensure you’re using the correct weapon for the animal you’re hunting. Also, Show Info won’t list arrows as a clean kill option unless they’re the only option. But you can always achieve a clean kill with a bow. The type of arrow may need to change. The compendium gives the most complete information.
Also skyy, you can use eagle eye to see what is lootable inside building. And while selecting a weapon on the weapon wheel you can press right or left on the d-pad to select ammo type(if you have different ammo for that weapon)
Sup Sky....in case u wondering...u will need the "Springfield Rifle" to hunt large animals like Bison, wolves, coyote's,cougars, deer & Alligators etc, you could have bought it at the Gunsmith shop in Valentine or go out there & get it for free & a specific location like how u got the Semi-Auto Shotgun for free & the Varmint Rifle u already have is good for hunting Small animals like Raccoons,Beavers, turtles...keep in mind in order to get perfect pelts u need to look for 3 star animals always....best guaranteed way of getting the best pelts...aim for headshots😉👍🏻
i really like how you play the game every other streamers ive watched got into go straight for the mission but you doing what others dont usually do ive seen some interaction that i have nerver seen in the game thankyou for that and yea..enjoy the game soo many more you can do in this game..luv ya
TH-camr "Video Kames" is doing the same thing currently with her GTA V playthrough, it is interesting to watch because so many people skip over the little details.
Put your saddle on a wild horse immediately after you tame it, you will begin to bond with it. Always carry horse reviver as well, I think you figured that out the hard way. There isn't that much difference between horses, don't worry about the comments saying you need to find one special horse or another.
Sky. Just wanna point out, that you’re not using the Deadeye properly in previous episodes. When time slows down, you can aim or mark many targets/enemies, (you see there’s a red “x” that will mark them when you hover your reticle to their body parts) and kill them all at once, after you pull the trigger. Aim at their heads, it’s instant kill. When you ran out of Deadeye, you can drink tonics and eat some food to replenish it. Oh and you can do this with animals, even with a bow. If you want easier hunting, use deadeye. Another thing, there’s two faster way to gain honour easily. 1. Do chores at the camp, by carrying water buckets, hay stack for the horses, and sacks for Pearson and cutting down logs. 2. Spam “Greet” to literally every person you see in town. Be nice to them, do not Antagonize. You’ll see you’ll gain honour. Good luck!! Love your gameplay so far.
Hiii Sky! Heres a lil something I think you'll like: When you go to the stables you can actually change the appearance of the horse! You can Make it have any color of hair available. Get saddles , Increase your horses health and Stamina, Buy horse food, and many other things! I really hope you'll rdr2 it really is a MASTERPIECE
Hey! Been following you since you started Rdr2 and may I say you're doing an amazing job and it's so fun to watch. This is my favourite game ever, played through it like 5 times with more than a thousand hours on it, yet, I'm still enjoying watching you play it for the first time, kinda makes me nostalgic thinking about my first playthrough! I'd like to give you an advice about hunting. I see you tried to clean kill a bear or an elk but you couldn't, here's why: For a big game animal clean kill you need to use a strong rifle, meaning a sniper, bolt action or in your case, the one who's unlocked so far by you is the Spingfield Rifle, wich you can buy at the gun store. In order to make a clean kill you also have to shoot the animal in the head, for a 1 shot kill. Remember, this is only needed for big animals such as elks, mooses, bears, cougars, wolves and even bucks. But also remember if you take 2 shots to kill an animal it automatically becomes a poor pelt, you need to hit those headshots! Hope it helps for the future huntings. PS: this doesn't apply to legendary animals, no matter how many rounds it takes you to kill em, the pelt always gonna be a perfetct one. :) Edit: I arrived at minute 1:52:40 rn and realised you actually learnt this, but I hope I explained it well for ya.
Not necessarily true. You can kill all larger game animals with premium arrows and a bow without damaging the pelt. And use small game arrows for squirrels chipmunks and snakes. Only guns I use hunting are repeater for fox and varmint rifle for the rabbits, muskrat and similar animals.
Loving your unintentional dedication to a clumsy Arthur play through 😂 this might be my favourite stream of this game and I’ve seen like five pretty decent ones.
Friendly tips: Store clothes suitable for cold weather on your horse and don’t wear them in hot weather or else your cores will drain faster - Regularly brush and feed your horse and carry horse stimulants on long journeys and horse reviver in case your horse is dying. - Try and interact more with members at your camp - Contribute to your camp funds to gain honor -Clean your guns with gun oil or take them to the gun smith to keep their performance levels up.
When you climbed up in the barn to loot the lady, you missed the chest five feet away. Had a $100 in it. The best tip when looting houses, barns, or campsites is to go into eagle eye mode. Anything that can be opened or taken will glow while in eagle eye...which is different from dead-eye.
Tip: If you're inventory on Premium Cigarettes is full, simply discard them to pick up more. Premium Cigarettes always gives you a random Cigarette Card, just by picking them up.
Hunting tips. Fox and bigger use rifle and go for head shot. Rabbit size use varmint rifle. Smaller use small game arrows. You can use a bow for everything but you need improved or poison arrows for large game. Legendary animals use repeater deadeye and shot as many rounds as possible. Legendary animal pelts do not lose condition. Express ammo does more damage and you can buy it from store. Upgrade your stirrups. They will reduce stamina drain of your horse. You can also use your eagle eye to see loot. It will show you all loot and items you can search. Some quests are only available at certain time or day or night. If it disappeared it is either the wrong time of day or you committed a crime.
Great going so far sky! Just want to give you a crucial tip: You need to learn how to use deadeye. People often progress a long way in without knowing what it does. Game told you about using it in chapter 1 but I guess you missed it. During combat press rs and ls together this will activate kind of a "superpower slow mo" you can tag multiple enemies and shoot em all. It's displayed by the deadeye core next to your health and stamina bars. Dead eye is a game changer. Use it anywhere and everywhere you can! Happy hunting!
Absolutely lost it at the horse cleaning part 😂 "That was all dirt???" Few tips, you can select different ammo for your guns when you buy or craft the ammo. Also, you can only find legendary animals by going to certain places of the map and start inspecting clues. Most importantly, Dead eye is a vital help in hunting especially.
The button to pull out your weapon wheel can be used to do gun tricks, just double press that when Arthur has a gun in his hand by his side and he will do a cool trick
To change clothes in the field, you need to have them stored on your horse saddle. You can do that when you are changing outfits in a hotel or at Arthur's tent back at camp.
the o'driscols that shot you killed your horse, thats why a random one showed up, you can also custumize your horses mane and tail at the stable in "horse appearence" and use the springfeild rifle for hunting to get perfect pelts, its $90 at the gunstore
Love your playthrough, and glad you've settled in - it's a lot to take in at first! Keep prioritizing the white missions over the yellow - the white ones are temporary - or only available certain times in the game, while the yellow ones will always be there for you to progress the main story along. Looking forward to the next episode!
You can look up a chart online to see which kinda weapon is right for which kind of animal. The type of weapon is different according to animal size; you can generally either deduce the size based on how Arthur interacts with them or look for a guide. You've got tiny (Arthur picks ups the whole animal and puts in his satchel), small (on the side of the horse), medium and large (on the back of the horse) and very large (he just takes the pelt and leaves the carcass behind). Saves you from having to look up the right weapon every time.
you can pick up any rare weapons (and drop yours) you're not gonna lose yours it's always on your horse or your weapons locker in camp. You should always pick up weapons you don't already own there are some you can miss if you don't or will only have access to much later.
premium cigarettes all have a special card inside. thats why you keep seeing “1/12”. you can drop the cigarettes after picking them up because arthur keeps the cards
Sky you should cook your big game with herbs as it will give you far better health benefits than plain cooked meat. You are carrying herbs so next time you open your cook menu at a camp fire scroll down and it will show you different cooked meat options and their benefits.
Tip is to use eagle eye when looting areas cuz it highlights items you can take and is good for tracking animals. Use an item if you can't pick up more of it that way you don't leave it. Trapper is mainly used for selling legendary animals only cuz the butcher will buy any other. The info when aiming at animal tells you what star they have and what weapon is best to kill them. 3 stars are perfect pelt. One clean shot to the head or heart will do and multiple shots ruin it. Give perfect pelts to Mr Pearson or the Trapper for upgrades to ur clothes, the camp, or Arthur's satchel. They will let you know what animals you need to hunt for upgrades.
When you looted the woman on the loft of the barn you did the robbery at, you forgot to check the chest that was up there. You missed some good loot. If you want a nicer looking saddle, you can just buy one at the stable. various items of horse tack will improve the stats of your horse allowing you to get to it's theoretical top speed. Bonding will give your horse more moves, but doesn't make him faster. "Why was that so hard?" Cause shooting from horseback is difficult. You gain a bit of mobility but lose any chance of cover and are trying to hit moving targets from a moving platform. You're also making your horse a target for people that want to kill you. Why would you ever pick up a worn cattleman revolver? Cause the only difference between a worn one and a perfect one is cleaning it with gun oil. Later you'll want 2. One the subject of guns, Flaco's revolver is prettier, but not better than a standard cattleman revolver can be. Named guns like that can't be modified while common guns can. You can increase damage, range, and add engraving and change materials to make them look as nice as any of the named guns. You looked at gun modifications at the gunsmith a bit, but didn't really look into the details enough. The Ginsing Elixer you found in Flaco's cabin is one of 3 types of drink that will permanently increase your stats. The Valarian Root you found after you killed your horse is another. They're pretty rare and you should drink them when you find them. I could tell you what the other 1 is, but the way you'll know them when you find them is that they don't show up in the item wheel that you can select without going to the satchel. All normal drinks do. Switching ammo is done from the weapon wheel. Select the gun then use left or right on the D-pad. (buttons on the left side of your controller) The semi auto shotgun is the best shotgun in the game. You lost your pelts when you died in the shootout with the O'Driscols. You also lose a percentage of your money every time you die so the more money you're carrying, the more you lose. That's why you should be careful about EVERY gunfight you get into. Between Flaco's gang and the O'Driscolls, I'd be surprised if you didn't lose at least $50 since you had quite a bit from the home robbery with Javiar. You're also wasting quite a few pelts. You can stack a lot of medium animal pelts on your horse and a stack of poor pelts is still worth more than a single perfect pelt. It's only the large pelts like bear or bison that you can only carry one of. The treasure map's all lead to money. By not robbing the guy you saved some honor but missed out on a bunch of money and trying to solve the mystery. That prisoner you found on the way to Black Belle didn't thank you because you shot him in the leg. He wanted you to shoot the chain between his feet not him. While you did kill your first horse by falling down the cliff, at least you learned from the experience. At least the 2nd time you did it. Hopefully. lol. Awesome episode. :^)
If you wanna switch the ammo style here it is. You got Hight velocity *Rifle* Ammo, Not *Repeater ammo* You can go to a gunsmith or General store to buy the ammo for the correct gun.
This game is so full of detail and things to remember, my first time playing I had to check the controls about 20 times to get everything down 😅 A few tips: 1. Your ammo will be different for each class of weapon, so the high velocity rifle ammo you got won't show up under your repeater. 2. Using your eagle eye (L3+R3) when looking around will show you all the lootable items nearby. 3. Try and keep an eye on arthurs health and stamina, as well as the horses. It seems like the reason your horse got switched is because it died when you fought the o'driscoll camp. The game just gave you a new randomized horse. I suggest hopping off your horse and finding cover when in a shootout so it can run to safety. 😊
29:38 Jeez not even like Five minutes and you are already eyeballing another persons horse. Skyy is not faithful to her pets. Also a Repeater is NOT a rifle. Do not use repeaters to kill animals it ruins their pelt. Also there is only one Legendary animal for a species at a specific location. You will not find them roaming around. 1:48:20 You shot him in the foot Skyy. Why would he thank you.
To get max speed/performance from your horse, keep its endurance core solid white. Feed it things like hay, oatcakes, carrots, apples. Save the sugar cubes and peppermints for bonding treats. Keep its health core white too. Give it some horse tonics for a temporary boost, horse reviver only if it dies. Express ammo is more powerful.
1:16:25 The best Weapon for killing Wolf for 3 Star Pelt is a Riffle with a headshot with High Velocity or Express and for massive animals like bears use a Shotgun with a Slug

I don’t think you realised but your health, energy, dead eye aren’t full if their respective symbols are filled. What is important is the circle surrounding them. The circle should be full. Also you should feed Arthur and his horse more often. When you take care of your horse it won’t buck you around predators (there’s also an option to calm the horse which you must use for it to work!)

Always drop the premium cigarettes in your satchel. You get to keep the cards that come with them. The wild horse left because you tamed it but didnt interact with it enough to bond before getting off. Always make sure you reach level 1 bond before leaving it alone.
Or just put your saddle on it. Works too.
I feel like this game is slowly turning Sky into a real outlaw.
I dont think 30 fps is that bad it makes the game look more like a movie. Its less buggy on consoles
1:48:11 you shot his leg mam and you demand a thanks from him 😂
i really like how you play the game every other streamers ive watched got into go straight for the mission but you doing what others dont usually do ive seen some interaction that i have nerver seen in the game thankyou for that and yea..enjoy the game soo many more you can do in this game..luv ya
TH-camr "Video Kames" is doing the same thing currently with her GTA V playthrough, it is interesting to watch because so many people skip over the little details.
Hope you’re feeling better, all the love ❤
**suddenly stops**
"Who's horse is this!?" 😂😂
*Shoots a man in the foot* “Not even a thank you!?”
25:02 something tells me she was more prepared this time around 😂
Thanks for uploading Sky! We know how much you put into the Videos and we appreciate that so much! Hope you feel better soon! 🤠❤
19:52 that was a glitch, Javier was supposed to have left already 😂
I had that same glitch when I did this mission lol
Awesome!!! This is my first time seeing RDR2 so I'm excited to see your next chapter. Hope you feel better soon too!
I see you tried to clean kill a bear or an elk but you couldn't, here's why:
For a big game animal clean kill you need to use a strong rifle, meaning a sniper, bolt action or in your case, the one who's unlocked so far by you is the Spingfield Rifle, wich you can buy at the gun store.
Edit: I arrived at minute 1:52:40 rn and realised you actually learnt this, but I hope I explained it well for ya.
Not necessarily true. You can kill all larger game animals with premium arrows and a bow without damaging the pelt. And use small game arrows for squirrels chipmunks and snakes. Only guns I use hunting are repeater for fox and varmint rifle for the rabbits, muskrat and similar animals.
Get better soon Sky! Your efforts are always appreciated! This is gonna be another fun playthrough to watch
Loving your unintentional dedication to a clumsy Arthur play through 😂 this might be my favourite stream of this game and I’ve seen like five pretty decent ones.
Friendly tips: Store clothes suitable for cold weather on your horse and don’t wear them in hot weather or else your cores will drain faster
- Regularly brush and feed your horse and carry horse stimulants on long journeys and horse reviver in case your horse is dying.
- Try and interact more with members at your camp
- Contribute to your camp funds to gain honor
-Clean your guns with gun oil or take them to the gun smith to keep their performance levels up.
Can’t wait to watch! Hope you feel better Sky
Back down by the frozen lake where you got the bear you can tame an all white, one of best horses in the game :)
I’d manual save often, especially if you wanna experiment or think you may get wanted for doing something. Will def save your life many times lol
Great going so far sky!
Just want to give you a crucial tip:
You need to learn how to use deadeye.
Now you’re just confusing her. That’s eagle eye. Dead eye is aiming and right stick
"Yeehaw F the Law"
My mantra while playing this game
Go back to the barn which you robbed with Javier, and search it again. Also search room in the house with that handwashing thing (or toilet 😀) again.
Yep she missed the chest in the loft of the barn had a lot of money in there
Couple of nice horses there as well I'm surprised she didn't take one of them after looting their saddlebags :D
Absolutely lost it at the horse cleaning part 😂 "That was all dirt???"
Few tips, you can select different ammo for your guns when you buy or craft the ammo. Also, you can only find legendary animals by going to certain places of the map and start inspecting clues. Most importantly, Dead eye is a vital help in hunting especially.
Other people: RDR2 is probably one of the greatest game of our generations..
Sky: "turning it to horse hunting simulator"
U need Arabian horse the best horse in the game
The button to pull out your weapon wheel can be used to do gun tricks, just double press that when Arthur has a gun in his hand by his side and he will do a cool trick
Skyy: Trouble is my middle name.
Me: I thought it was Lesley.
Thank you for another awesome episode!
Hope u feel better soon Sky💙 .Take care and rest well.😊
Me: Be careful riding through the swamps like that, a gator gunna pop up and get ya
*3 seconds later*
Yep there it is. 😂
Just enjoy the game, don't get stressed about finding everything all at once.
You should def look out for that blind guy whenever your out on your journeys!
Great another video 🎉. Hope you feel better Sky.
Sky: “I want to be more honorable,” then 5 minutes later stealing all the pretty horses 🤣
(buttons on the left side of your controller)
The semi auto shotgun is the best shotgun in the game.
You got Hight velocity *Rifle* Ammo, Not *Repeater ammo*
You can go to a gunsmith or General store to buy the ammo for the correct gun.
This game is so full of detail and things to remember, my first time playing I had to check the controls about 20 times to get everything down 😅
A few tips:
@chandllerburse737 The other uses .22 which we need to hunt.
Who's gonna tell her she can change the manes of her horses lol
That's what I was thinking lol
Sky in my honest opinion your gameplay reactions are amazing I always look forward watching your new videos and your doing great in this game.
Can't forgive you for killing two horses in one episode!
The honor stuff will work itself out in the end. You have tons of time and opportunities to build it up. It's a very long game.
So far this series has been the adventures of Sky finding nicer horses than the one she has every 45 minutes or so hahaha
1:17:00
Unfortunately your horse got shot and killed.. that one is gone now 😞
1:16:25 The best Weapon for killing Wolf for 3 Star Pelt is a Riffle with a headshot with High Velocity or Express and for massive animals like bears use a Shotgun with a Slug
The last 10 minutes was awesome. Poor arthur and his horse had rought experience finding the treasure 😂😂
Almost time for my yearly playthrough of red dead 2.. Last time i played was april 2023. I think ive played it 4 times now.. I always find something new each time..
I also recommend u do all the 10 different challenges like the "Hunting" challenges, "Horsemen",Herbalists...etc all those challenges u complete will unlock new cool equipment at the Trapper & other bonuses you'll see...plus there is a way u can rob the doctor shop in Valentine without losing honor & get another free weapon early in the game...that's if u don't kill any innocent folk 😎 the previous guy who asked u to shoot off his chains give u that robbery tip I think
I really need to pay attention more to feeding your horse and feeding Arthur
I don’t think you realised but your health, energy, dead eye aren’t full if their respective symbols are filled. What is important is the circle surrounding them. The circle should be full. Also you should feed Arthur and his horse more often. When you take care of your horse it won’t buck you around predators (there’s also an option to calm the horse which you must use for it to work!)
