    Hi Jason. I always enjoy your videos. But why do you hold the cap while heating it up? And you are holding the contacts with metal tweezers, that is really not the optimal way to do it, you are taking away so much of the heat (at such a delicate location). And also I think in your earlier videos you would never leave the replaced cap so much misaligned.

    It's always a pleasure seeing someone who obviously takes pride in his work. Unfortunately, there are too many people out there who don't.

    Good job for the repair but i think its better if you replace the Lcd sticker when you remove the Lcd or open the phone, it will keep the dust and some water from getting inside the phone :)

      Thank u. This situation is almost always a capacitor shorted. Sometimes it is cracked chips or other things but the heavy current draw leaves good path to follow.

    Great info much appreciated. On another subject While attempting repairs with unofficial parts has always been risky, a new report claims that even genuine Apple replacement screens can cause sensor problems for the latest iPhones - if they’re installed by unauthorized shops. How are you dealing with this issue?

    • @Dotter4ever
      @Dotter4ever 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hemi Power the only problem that you will get Even if you work with Apple original lcd’s is the auto-brightness sensor for iPhone 8, 8+ and X and that is because you need to copy the data from the old Lcd and write it in the new one. Just get iPhone auto-brightness fix there are some websites that sell it. And then you wont have any problems.

    Anyone could tell me what's the difference between VDD main and boost?

    • @SeekSeekerMaster
      @SeekSeekerMaster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How self explanatory can it get. Main and Boost it already says alot.

    • @SeekSeekerMaster
      @SeekSeekerMaster 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FixDaily Often VDD is used for the supply of digital circuits which are mostly CMOS where NMOS have a Drain which is where the DD in VDD stands for.
      Likewise analog circuitry used to be made using Bipolar transistors where an NPN has a Collector which connects (often through a resistor) to VCC.
      VDD for digital and or the whole chip
      VCC for (internal) analog circuits
      These naming choices are quite arbitrary and are also based on history and easy naming as not to confuse the customer.
      VDD Boost is just the amplified current by the booster ic u2301 if remember correct on iphone 7 and plus.

    Smashing job jason :-D
    I knew your room was hotter than normal before you said it, how i hear you say lol.
    The alcohol on the pcb was evaporating so fast that you didn't have long to apply power.
    I think those caps are tantalum types, i hated the old bead types for shorting out.
    We don't exist while you are recording, so why get jittery?, if you didn't like the result then hit erase and no one is the wiser :-D

    • @ststele
      @ststele  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank u. I wondered if anyone would notice the differences under the microscope. Aside from the higher temperatures & humidity, my elevation is nearly 1000ft lower. We were just under 900 feet in Missouri. Here, I am at 30 feet. I don't know if that's enough altitude to make much difference but it seems everything involving the changing between solid~liquid~gas happens differently.

    • @zx8401ztv
      @zx8401ztv 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would imagine that the boiling point of water would be slightly higher where you are, but the heat would add more energy to the water so it evaporates faster.
      Under 900 Feet!!, dam that must be a smelly place, get them to change there socks lol :-D.
