    I'm really enjoying your videos,Jason! Although having been out of the business for 45 years or so, I struggle a little bit to understand
    everything I hear. You have to understand, I come from an era that knew the motto "dip the plate peak the grid" There, that
    sure dates me!
    Thanks for the continuing education!

    Another fantastic video, thank you! In regards to the socializing comment, I feel what's actually made me better in electronic repair is the fact that I struggle socially just like you. Sadly we've had a tremendous amount of turnover at my work and in turn I've been able to meet the tremendous amount of people interested in electronic repair. The best ones seem to have the same personality. A little introverted, have trouble carrying a fluid conversation. Me being one of those people it's easy to talk to them but it became fairly clear early on that the best ones are weird LOL

      *I can TOTALLY relate - especially on the anxiety! Though I spent my whole life performing on stage as a vocalist - singing with different bands, last minute gigs, working on a morning radio show to hospitality, reception, customer service and events for companies like Coca Cola and Indian Motorcycle.*
      *[THEN] I had kids and became a stay at home mom so - 13 years in and I NOW I dread having to socialize with anyone because I feel so uncomfortable and AWKWARD.*
      *At least you’re progressing!?! I’m one of the few who think Covid is the best thing to ever happen because I don’t have to go places and talk to people I’m not related to!* 😜

      Still today, my social anxiety is hard to overcome. It prevents me from posting most of what I would be posting if I was more care free. Although I think it likely has contributed to learning more!
      Very good comments. Thank u! 🙂

      @@ststele Where I've gone since I've made this comment... wow.. You're a videos literally helped change the direction of my life. I'm still awkward lol But that old job with heavy turnover is long gone. I opened a business doing B2B motherboard repair and was bought out by my local competitor within a year . It enabled me to purchase my 1st house. I owe a ton to this man, if you ever come out to Alberta I have a place for you and your family to stay for a little vacation! The absolute least I could do!!

      arno nabuurs IP67 is rated at 30min at 1m and it has been proven to exceed that rating. What you don’t know is was the screen replaced which removes the seal most of the time unless done by Apple. It is water resistant not waterproof.

    Great Video I must say. I had a similar problem on my iPhone 11 and I sent it in for Repair and they would have charged me 500€. That‘s how much I bought the phone for. And as a kid I don‘t have that kind of money. I said to them send me the phone back. When I got my phone back I tried to restore it again but with a different cable because the other one was not MFI certified. And guess what: The phone worked and I was using the iPhone 11 until I replaced it with an iPhone SE 2. Gen. This hole thing because of an cable. That was 6 months ago.

    I knowing this video is 2 years old but underfill and overfill is very much with us still. And Mechanic now sells some goop that softens up this crap. It vaporizes like IPA, so if you need it to not do that too fast, soak some cotton balls or a piece of cloth cleanroom wipe, and lay it on there.

    Thanks for this great video! This is the first NAND swap video I’ve found that shows how everything is done. I’m hoping to one day try this out on an iPhone XS Max by upgrading a board from 64GB to 512GB. Unfortunately it does look like those NAND readers for iPhone 8’s and later are really expensive but if anyone knows of one that I could buy for a bit cheaper that would be nice

    • @supercrazymario404
      @supercrazymario404 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xtreme9942 luckily though that was last year and they have dropped in price quite a lot since the nand bga arrangement has been around for awhile now and is still currently being used in the latest Apple soldered on SSDs in all their macs and also the nands in the newest iphones. But interestingly enough, we now have a bootrom exploit for iPhone X and older that allows us to extract the data necessary to reprogramming right from the phone itself through a lightning cable so that helps with older devices. Though at least with newer ones the reprogrammers are still not nearly as expensive

  • @ProGamusian
    @ProGamusian 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I really like the fact that most iPhones you can replace the NAND relatively cheaply in terms of cost. Do you usually upgrade the storage as well to a higher tier if possible or use the same storage config the phone came default with

      This is often caused when the metal that partially covers Tristar is cut to do the repair. I have seen a small burr or sharp frayed piece of metal that sticks out just a tiny bit. When the board is tightened into the housing, the USB 5v rail gets shorted to ground because the sharp metal cuts into the dock flex.

    Hey Jason. The same thing happened to me with the google ads. I tried to do everything I can to get approved but kept getting disapproved for the same exact reasons. I switch to Facebook and instagram. My advice that works is use customer video reviews on social media. Holy crap that got me a lot of businesses. Even though google lost my business with them. Google doesn’t fully dominate online business. Basically there’s more than one way to get customers online. Check out my Facebook Fixacrackediphone page to see how I do my video reviews with customers.

    I have an iphone 7 that boots to both the apple logo or the dfu /recovery mode (But not into actual IOS) Does that sound like a nand problem or cable issue? (Tried 2 cables far). Error 9 pops up a lot though.

    Hello guys, i have iphone 7 and the nand was totally bad, so i had to erase it, and lost the boot data. Is there any way to activate it, because it can not activate without that data! Thanks
