MTV had only come out on the scene a couple years or so before this song came out. Maybe two or three or so. But the amount of heavy rotation that this video got on mtv. They probably played at 6 or 8 times a day. Probably for 6 months or more. That's one MTV actually played music.

As an Old Man, I have to say that I am SHOCKED that neither one of you have watched The original Twilight Zone Television series! It IS the Best Television series of all time! It was SO culturally significant that it's influence reached Every television, Film, and music genre which followed. You have got to find it, on whatever device you can use to obtain it, and watch the whole series. Every episode was unique. The only person who appeared on every episode was the announcer: Rod himself. I don't believe that 20th, or early 21st, Century media can be understood without some basic knowledge of The Twilight Zone.

Love this song, and also the TV show, "The Twilight Zone" (the original from the '60s). I was afraid of the theme song as a child. 😄
Every New Years Eve, the SyFy channel runs it for 24hrs. Very good stories....creepy, suspenseful, and makes you think.
Speaking of the title, check out the song "Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone" by *The Manhattan Transfer* .
Amber, it'll give you some outer space vibes. 🙂
A while back, I emailed a list of many of my favorites by them. They sing in the style called vocalese. They sing in the notes and speed that the instrument plays. Pretty cool.

This band is Dutch pride at its best! The cocky singer Barry Hay, superdrummer Cesar Zuiderwijk, very underrated great bass player Rinus Gerritsen and the great recognizable guitar by George Kooymans!
Now you did point out the bass!!! Vanilla queen will be another treat in that regard. 👍

"The Twilight Zone" is must see tv. Hosted by Rod Serling, it is a multiple genre, but usuallly science fiction/ horror anthology television series , with surprising endings and morals to the story, that started in 1959 and ran about 5 years and is a part of American Culture.

If you're going this era of old school, I would like to make a suggestion. I saw you do a reaction for "Ballroom Blitz" by The Sweet last May. Well their first (and biggest) hit was a song that drove me crazy. Everybody at school teased me with the song for months (I really liked the song but the joke got real old real fast 🤬).
The song was released as a non-album single in the UK and then in America. The song is "Little Willy" (and I think you can guess what my name is 🤔). It's a fun song that your kids may even like. Mine danced to it until they wore out my old 45. Here's a link for you. Enjoy.

Based on the book the Bourne Identity.
Jay you have a good ear regarding the importance of the bass. Sting once said, the reason he plays base is because he can then direct the movement of the song. The bass is the foundation upon which the other instruments can grow.
