i saw someone on twitter say they told their transphobe neighbor they just installed gender neutral bathrooms in their house and the guy got SO MAD, he absolutely didn't get how stupid it was
I'm a single father of 3 girls. When they were young and on my own, I had to help them use the restroom when out in public. I'm not going into the women's bathroom nor am I going to ask a complete stranger to watch them while they went in by themselves. I had only one option, take them into the men's room with me and absolutely nothing ever has happened because everyone in there wants to use the restroom and leave.
exactly. no one wants to do nature's call out in open public; it's not only unsanitary in a developed, civilized city, it's downright weird. we already have to put up with that from the doggos and the horsies since they don't know any better compared to houseapes, but we are willing to clean up after our animal companions.
Was recently at a local zoo in the men's room with my son-in-law and his twin 3-year old girls. They are still learning to use the toilet. That sort of thing happens many times everyday.
My daughter is trans, she's trying SO hard just to get through life, she's a fantastic student at a top college in Washington D.C., she doesn't want to "groom" anyone, she wishes she was like everyone else, she doesn't wish her issue on anyone else, it's crazy. NOBODY wants to be trans but it happens. Nobody wants to be a diabetic or have a physical or mental illness but it's part of life and you try to live with your "affliction" as best you can. The trans people I know are just keeping their heads down and trying to get through life, it's very challenging for all of us.
Father of three adult daughters and now grandpa of two granddaughters (almost 3 and 5 months) here ... I know this story with first-hand experience. So far, so good in not having to deal with some overzealous lunatic in a public bathroom when i find myself with no choice. But I am well aware it is inevitable at some point.
Yup... with two daughters under 7 it's been an unremarkable task for on an almost weekly basis to support my daughters using public toilets... I have to say I prefer to use the disabled toilets where available ... Down to practicality of space... UK public toilets are not designed with space to sort out a wriggling toddler 😅

I wanted to post an update of something I got wrong. The tatted up guy at the end of the video had a VERY different story than the one that was told to me. Turns out he was not only at the show, he was a fan AND the guy that first got the attention of the police. He was so heated because he is part of the LGBTQ community and had been assaulted previously - so when he saw it potentially happening to a few trans women, he grabbed a cop who was stopped at a light, ran back to the theatre, and got in between the transphobe and the women. He wasn't trying to escalate as much as he was trying to be the one to take the seemingly inevitable punch. And he left when the cops got there because he was the one who called them over in the first place. I was told he was a bystander who just hopped in the fray, and I understand why the folks who didn't know him thought that. In their eyes, he showed up out of nowhere and ran in - but really he was running back to protect folks from sharing the same fate he'd already experienced. Anyway, my apologies go out to him. And know that if I ever get something wrong in a video, I am happy to correct it.
People seem to forget that having trans people use the bathroom of the gender they were assigned at birth would mean that fully transitioned trans men, who are undistinguishable from cis men, would have to use the women’s bathroom.
I had to do that once because I wanted to switch to my swimming binder at a theme park, but I knew my ass was gunna put it on wrong and get stuck so my older sister brought me with her to the women’s restroom No one was happy that day lmfao
I saw a pic of a transman taking a pic of them in the women's bathroom to show off how dumb and uncomfortable that law is. They looked so masculine, including the typical country singer beard, that if you checked their assigned gender at birth on their id, you'd wonder if the id was fake.
conservatives always forget that trans men exist. Also the sports „issue“ would just make trans men compete with cis women in sports and probably have an actual advantage, as opposed to trans women competing with them and in most cases not having any advantage at all lmao
I live in a state where we had a bathroom bill proposed some years ago. Any time someone claimed support of it, I asked them if they would volunteer to check junk at the door. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE THAT NO ONE WOULD.
When I was a child (AFAB) my dad took me into the men's public restroom all the time if we were out and about without my mom. No guy ever bothered us at all. The only time there was ever a problem in a public restroom was with my younger brother. We had been taught to turn off the lights when leaving the bathroom. It was like muscle memory. Our hand just hit the light switch when we were headed out. So my brother hit the light switch when the two of us were leaving the women's restroom at church. Parents didn't think we needed protection at church, so we were there by ourselves. Lights go off and a woman screams. Brother turns the lights back on and says sorry. A cis woman comes flying out of a stall and hit my brother upside the head so hard that he had a handprint there four hours, and a bruise the next day. So apparently it is church going cis women who are the real danger to children in a women's restroom.
Well, a lot of what these guys accuse others actually is deflection of what is going on in their own mind. So the idea that people transition because of fucked up motives is a window to the mind of transphobes.
Freudian slip. The same way that some homophobic so-called alpha males cant stop berating homosexuals. Its on their minds a lot... for some very creepy reasons.
Note the date's reaction. It may feel mortifying to get up and draw attention to herself, but she immediately set a very clear signal where she stood and is now applauded for it. She was probably trying to figure a way out the second he did that
I heard of a father who takes his little girl to the women's restroom, knocks on the door and announces himself, because he thinks that the women's restroom is cleaner. Little story time: My sister has suffered from severe kidney problems her entire life, she's also hearing impaired and had a fear of being alone. At the time I'm 11 she's 7. Mother is in line for a money order in Walmart. My sister begs one of us to go with her because she REALLY needs to go to the bathroom, naturally my mother asks me to go as she can't leave the line. Of course I knew how important it was and when I asked my mother said to absolutely not to take her to the mens room. I agreed and went in with her and waited turned around in the stall. She does her business washes her hands and return to our mother. When suddenly an old woman and a Walmart employee come to use to try to I guess arrest or punish me. Thankfully the employee and manager that came over were very understanding. As shocking as it may be not everyone is capable of using a restroom on their own and not everyone who cant use it have someone with who's the same sex and gender to assist them. More importantly not every place has gender neutral or family bathrooms. If you insist on excluding Trans people from their desired bathrooms and prohibiting anyone who may need to enter a different bathroom for safety reasons then make gender neutral restrooms as mandatory as wheelchair accessible bathrooms. Instead of specifically targeting people give them a new safer option.
"So, how did the date go?" "Oh you know, we went to a comedy show, he didn't like the jokes, one thing led to another and now he's in jail for drug possession and assault" -The woman, probably.
I like how its always an old man going into the little girls room and not an old woman going into the little boys room... despite their belief that women are the predominant abusers of children. Their belief system is so full of contradictions and misinformation, it's baffling sometimes.
a quick look at statista gives 10% of more child abuse (general) than men, he made it seem it was at least 3 to 1. And wonder how it would be in an approximate of abuse per time of interaction with men being less frequently in a child's life.
I used to be very conservative in my mid 20's until I realized how full of contradictions they all were. And they're always tiptoing around their positions like they don't have the balls of saying what they think because they know it's a stupid opinion.
I’ve noticed that whenever I talk to someone who thinks like this and they share their beliefs with me, I believe them. I disagree, but I believe they’re being earnest. But when I share my beliefs, they almost always accuse me of lying. “That’s not true, and you know it! You’re not telling the truth! You’re lying.” It’s almost like they think the only reason anyone could disagree with them is to taunt, troll, or enrage them. That says a lot to me. Anyone else ever notice that?
Looks like one of them literally showed up here. Fact of the matter is these people don't arrive to their beliefs through rational process, they're fundamentalally irrational. And because they have massive egos, any challenge to the idea that they're somehow these mega brain paragons of rational thought is a direct attack on their self image, and when you're as fragile and insecure as they are, well this happens.
A lot of the time it's projection because that's exactly what they're doing. It's also partially because many of these people are motivated by religious belief, which instills believers with unearned confidence about the very nature of the universe and leads them to believe they have the unambiguous truth about the world no matter what you say or show them to the contrary. Otherwise, I'd guess that they're simply so small-minded that they can't even conceive of a genuine belief or view that doesn't agree with them.
I am female and i was raised by a single father. Every time i needed to use the bathroom, he sent me on my own. If i had an issue i needed help with, he would ask a random woman to help me. Gender neutral bathrooms aren't just for transgender people... A mom can take her toddler son in the women's restroom but a dad can't take his toddler daughter into a men's room. Women's restrooms have changing tables, men's restrooms don't. Having bathrooms that are gender neutral is not a sexual thing. People who think sexual things will automatically happen are the people who shouldn't be trusted
Some of the men’s restrooms do have changing tables but I’ve never seen a father bring in his little one to change the diaper. I have seen fathers bring their little sons or daughters into the men’s restroom to use the cubicle toilets. I’ve never been weirded out by it.

Honestly was called a freak by my brother just two months ago for being agender. It really is so creepy to be this obsessed with other people's genitalia. I'm really over the trans panic. I can't imagine living with so much hate in my heart for strangers.
He didn't call you a freak because he's obsessed with genitalia. He probably did it because he thinks you are. I'm sorry, I'm just being honest though. Most of the population do not understand you guys or your decisions. Use me as your online crash dummy, I don't care. It's better you get this stuff out of the way with some random online stranger it seems anyways rather than having to go through the pain of doing it with loved ones. Yes, you're human, but I don't agree with what you and other trans people did. I'm sorry, but I don't. We have a right to disagree just like you apparently have a right to do what you did, when I don't think it's right to have that say so. Just like I don't think it's right to have a say so that cigarettes should exist. This doesn't mean that it makes it your fault that cigarettes and trans people exist. Just saying that I don't understand people's decisions to participate in either. Also, not saying that cigarettes have anything to do with trans people, I'm just giving a metaphor to show how I think both of them degrade us as HUMANS. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Feel free to say what you want though. And no, please don't bring freedom of speech into this either saying that freedom of speech is a right akin to "choosing your gender." It's absolutely not the same thing, not even in the same category. Saying the F bomb doesn't bring about the same disgust to humanity that transgender people have brought. You can't argue that, that's a fact! Now, I understand if you're offended but again I think your mindset is wrong when you assume why someone calls you freak, as "being obsessed with sexuality or genitalia." I don't think that's a rational conclusion or healthy narrative to hold. You want to know what the majority of the population thinks about transgender people? 🚨🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
@randomaccount64 Ex. Act. Ly. Tw:; sexual advantage of a child. But I was LITERALLY molested in a bathroom as a like 5 year old, which led to years of it every time there was a family party at that house. People forget that 1) MOLESTERS ARE USUALLY FAMILY/FAMILY FRIENDS! 2) This stuff most often (not always of course but VERY OFTEN) happens at your own home or the home of a relative/friend while your child is not around you. And 3) MOLESTERS JUST MOLEST. A grown man is far more likely to befriend you and get your guard down around him to mess with your kid later than to go on fucking estrogen and undergo surgeries and shit JUST to touch a kid. There are so many easier ways out there. If anyone reading this has children, it's impossible to watch them 24/7/365, but being mindful of absences more than a couple of minutes is a good start.. it's SO OFTEN family friends. Thank you for posting this & having that discussion in your set. I'm a cisfemale who is nearly 6' tall and 320# with large breasts & consistently wear jeans and a t-shirt with my waist length hair in a slicked ponytail with no makeup. When running errands I stopped to use the restroom at a large gas station. When I entered the ladies room it was empty; after peeing, I open the door to find a 5'3" 60 year old lady standing right in front of the stall I'm exiting with a look of hatred in her eyes. I try and step around her to wash my hands but she stepped to block me and said to me, "you don't belong in here. You are a threat." Confused in simply said, "what? Why?" She then went into how I should use the restroom of my own gender and that my presence here is threatening. Seeing where this was going I wasn't going to cower to her. I simply said excuse me, I need to wash my hands. When I tried to step around her, she blocks me again and continues her tirade about how my presence in the ladies room is threatening the safety of women. Now remember the restroom was empty when I entered & she made it the point to follow me in to confront me for being a "man in the ladies room." I simply told her that I just came to pee and if I'm such a threat, why are you here? Shouldn't you run away from the big meanie trans person you believe me to be? She then said, "so you're a female then?" I simply told her it was none of her business & she needs to get out of my way since you are basically holding me against my will at this point. I refused to confirm my gender since it was truly none of her business & I wasn't going to cower to this bigoted woman as I knew I'd done nothing wrong. Finally washed my hands and left the restroom after she stormed off in a huff. What do I see n when I exit? She is talking to a police officer stationed near the cashier (this is on a Native American reservation.) She's going on and on with him with her hands flailing wildly and finally points directly at me. I smile and wave to the cop as I head to the cooler to get a soda. The cop looks at me, I smile again & he rolls his eyes, nods, then turns and walks away from the bigoted Karen. She did NOT like that so she slammed the front door open and left. I have zero issues with trans women in the restrooms as they simply want to use the toilet & leave like anyone else. Sadly this was not an isolated incident as it was thus far happened to me a total of 3 times. I'm largely a homebody which is why the confrontation count is so low. Seriously considering dropping my jeans & panties the next time someone tries this; let them get a look at my fupa and while they are shocked & appalled I will take that time to wash my hands as they recover & leave.
Every transphobe accusation is a confession, and it pisses me off being trans and being an abuse survivor how people like this will mock you for going through that or deny it happened while saying you're the cause of abuse

I’ve worked in Child Protection for 7 years and specifically in Domestic and Family Violence for going on a further 3 years. That’s a decade of talking to children who’ve been through the worst of things. Of holding space for women who were abused as children. In ten years of five days a week, 8 hours a day professional work where it is my job to seek out these stories, I have yet to encounter a single case of a trans person perpetrating this crime. In fact from recollection, the only trans people involved in the cases I’ve worked have been the victims of this crime. Has it ever happened? Yeah. I’m sure it has. Humans do some horrific stuff and some of them probably identify as trans. But does it happen enough to prevent an entire group of people from being treated with dignity and respect? No. It just doesn’t. We need to move past this as a society. If it makes you uncomfortable because it’s new and you don’t have much experience with trans issues, I think many would agree that’s okay. But if it makes you uncomfortable and you think therefore it needs to be outlawed, you’re the one who concerns me.
What I don't understand is why people seem to have a problem with trans people "possibly" doing this stuff, but never even talk about Catholics, Mormons or even just regular families. I watch a lot of interrogations on TH-cam and there's so many cases of cis men doing things to their daughters. Does this get talked about? No. Why? Hell if I know. The world is changing. People who grow up in violent families never learn coping mechanisms, so when things change, they become violent. They learned at an early age to use violence to get what they want, so their prefrontal cortex never has a chance to develop. They are, at a neurological level, childish. And frankly, I'd rather have someone who can think about things running things and not someone who hasn't learned self control and introspection. This video shows a symptom of a bigger problem. People are afraid of what they don't know. Which is fine. That's how we survived the Savanna and kept from getting eaten by tigers. But they make a choice to live in fear and respond with violence. They don't seek understanding or truth. Only rage, power and violence. If you don't care about truth, I really have no interest in what you have to say about anything. You tell me your name, how do I know that's the truth? Ya know? People like this guy don't get to this point overnight. It will be a long time before he grows up. I just hope some day he can look at this night as a learning experience. He will probably be in and out of prison and a judge will make him take anger management classes and get sober. He will probably piss off the wrong person and get beaten within an inch of his life. And when his aggression alienates everyone in his life and he's faced with homelessness, he will evaluate what got him to that point. He will numb his pain with drugs and spend many years in prison. It will probably take 10-30 years before he figures this stuff out and changes. I make these predictions because I've seen it happen with an old neighbor.
There’s always some group that is being scapegoated for the troubles of the world when really every group of people had its spectrum of human morality.

@@wretchedrabbitYour logic is bad. If someone is going to do something so bad to the point where they will cover their face to conceal their identity. A law isn’t going to stop them. They wont see the law and go “welp guess I cant do that” because they also know they cant commit the crime alongside it but are doing it anyway. Not every precaution is sound. It’s valid, but not sound. It’s like plugging every faucet because there might be lead in the tap water. We don’t know, and there likely isnt lead, but lead is bad so now we just.. dont have water anymore because of the precaution. See how annoying it gets when society impliments too much caution. You shouldnt be cautious of anyone wearing a mask, because a mask isnt a crime. A crime is a crime. And no amount of penalty would ever stop people from using masks. I’d even argue that you stopping identity concealment actively threatens the freedom of americans. I dont really think that, but a fuck ton of society does. The more unnecessary precautions, the more society is limited to it’s past.
Hey Steve. I know you’ll probably never see this, but I saw you in high school in 2006. Windsor High School in Vermont paid you to do a show for us as a graduation celebration, and you were very funny. You probably don’t remember me, I was the kid that stopped you in the hallway right before you were about to leave, and I said “I’ll see you on TV one day.” I was very embarrassed and I felt a little silly for saying that. I still think about it sometimes. Anyways I’m transgender. I came out 8 years later. I’ve been watching some of your stuff throughout the years and I am so happy that you are a supporter of people like me have rights and being integrated to society rather than ostracized from it. Thank you so much Steve. Also I’ve been dabbling in comedy myself. I’m very early on, but if you do read this I would love to ask some stuff and pick your brain. Anyways, thank you again and I hope your career keeps trending upwards. Cheers 🎉

What's really funny to me is that his trying to shift things to the "women commit more child abuse" thing would inadvertently be implying "trans women are women". He hurt himself in his confusion.
They do that a lot. Did you know there's something called a 'man card', and apparently it can be taken away just purely based on cultural whim...Which would mean 'man' is not a strictly biological matter. (Although, to be clear, it totally is a biological matter. Everything telling the trans fella they're trans is a result of biological processes...Like, their identity comes from their brain, a very biological piece of flesh and chemicals and electrical signals...So even their whole 'Muh biology!' argument turns on them lmao)
I was in the audience at this show. As a trans woman, it really hit different. I use the ladies room when I have to pee. I go to work and pay my taxes. I'm just living my life. Thanks for being on the right side of history, Steve (and being hilarious while doing so)
This video hit different for me too. I went to a clinic today. The nurse said the doctor wanted to know why I'm taking hormones. I said "gender transition". She asked what gender I identify as. I said "woman and thank you". Immediately the nurse said "no problem sir". The doctor called me sir. So did the person getting my blood sample, and the person scheduling a followup. I got misgendered by 100% of the clinic staff. So when I watched this video it was strange to me. A classmate of mine (cis woman) works at Walmart and told me a story about going to the restroom the other day. Two older women were leaving as she entered, but otherwise no one was in there. A few minutes later, her boss comes bursting in asking who's in the stall. She obviously speaks up, and the boss apologizes profusely and explains that the older women had come to the front counter claiming a man was in the women's restroom. This is what all of this BS fear mongering is doing, making these closed-minded imbeciles so paranoid that they can't even tell a short-haired young woman from a man anymore. They want to claim it's about biology, but they literally can't see past simple gender performance, even when the person is in a uniform. It's insane.
@jeremiell you just said "Can't see past simple gender performance". Lets enhance that last part "PERFORMANCE". Its all a joke. Its an act, a performance. Men are men and women are women. They actually kinda are afraid of trans people, just not in the same way as an actual psychological phobia. It's called transphobia because people like the guy in the video get roped into all the fear mongering saying that trans people are sexual predators, degenerates, worshippers of satan, and that they want to transify your kids. All that is to paint this picture of trans people as some kind of threat to society. This scary boogieman who is somehow weak and strong at the same time. Twice when I was assigned "pecker checker" in the military for urinalysises where we were supposed to watch the stream exit the body and go into the cup (granted I didn't actually watch except for one person who would purposefully angle himself where I had to see it because he was a stickler for rules), and then at work once when a guy literally passed out at the urinal when I was in there and his pants were down. And neither time, was it something I really wanted to see. People seem to have this super weird idea of how public bathrooms work.

Expanding on the 'a car is a she' bit, these people also consistently draw a line between 'real men' and presumably non-real men. These lines are NEVER associated with just having a penis, they're usually arbitrary cultural standards 'a REAL man drives a truck, a REAL man grows a beard, a REAL man drinks alcohol that tastes like shit' My confusion is: Either every person born with a penis is a 'real man' by default, no further questions asked, OR the criteria for manhood extends beyond (or, in some cases when women are called men for enjoying masculine hobbies or having less feminine figures, exists without) the requirement of a penis, but it cannot be both simultaneously.
I always love that argument. Every country except America has gender neutral bathrooms. America has a issue with their public bathrooms, which leads to perverts in general - Not specific people. Which, if you actually look at the differences in bathroom stalls in comparison to America and let's say... The UK.
I'm glad that he wasn't just trying to escalate, and he was the guy who, in the end, helped get the moron in jail.

People seem to forget that having trans people use the bathroom of the gender they were assigned at birth would mean that fully transitioned trans men, who are undistinguishable from cis men, would have to use the women’s bathroom.
These people often forget that trans men exist, but mostly because they see trans men as women and already don't care about women.
I had to do that once because I wanted to switch to my swimming binder at a theme park, but I knew my ass was gunna put it on wrong and get stuck so my older sister brought me with her to the women’s restroom
No one was happy that day lmfao
Trans men are always forgotten, primarily because CIS males don't want to fu6k them, can't be 'tricked' into sex with them, so they dont matter.

At the time I'm 11 she's 7. Mother is in line for a money order in Walmart. My sister begs one of us to go with her because she REALLY needs to go to the bathroom, naturally my mother asks me to go as she can't leave the line.

I like how its always an old man going into the little girls room and not an old woman going into the little boys room... despite their belief that women are the predominant abusers of children.
Their belief system is so full of contradictions and misinformation, it's baffling sometimes.
Their ability to compartmentalize contradictory information is clinically fascinating. Kind of makes me wish I’d gone into psychology.
a quick look at statista gives 10% of more child abuse (general) than men, he made it seem it was at least 3 to 1. And wonder how it would be in an approximate of abuse per time of interaction with men being less frequently in a child's life.
Well if it isn't the pot calling the kettle black...
He must not be a parent if he thinks little girls go into public restrooms alone...
No
Looks like one of them literally showed up here.

Yes! What's funny is how many hold beliefs just to annoy people they disagree with. Its really odd

I’m so sorry that your brother was so cruel. You don’t deserve that!
He didn't call you a freak because he's obsessed with genitalia. He probably did it because he thinks you are. I'm sorry, I'm just being honest though. Most of the population do not understand you guys or your decisions. Use me as your online crash dummy, I don't care.

As a trans person, ty so much. As a trans MASC person, I have a suggestion for the next time you see a guy ask what's "stopping" cis men from saying they're women and using the women's restroom -- ask him if, the bathroom ban does come into play, what's stopping cis men from saying they're trans men and therefore have no other CHOICE but to use the women's restroom due to their gender at birth? Because this is something that could very well happen, and they wouldn't even have to pretend to be a trans woman at all.

I stuck around in case he got extra stupid, but then someone said the cops were on their way. And I decided that I didn't want to be hanging out when they got here.
Oh, shit, I didn't know he had taken a swing at someone. That must have happened before we got out. When I got out, the ladies were being loud with him and I was worried for them. @@stevehofstetter that's high praise from you, Steve. Maybe one day I'll say that was my beginning in comedy!
Imagine standing outside for an hour on your own waiting for a guy to come outside who's just roasting you
I’ve worked in Child Protection for 7 years and specifically in Domestic and Family Violence for going on a further 3 years.

As a girl that was molested at 9 by a man ( by my father), I find fault at that dude's reasoning. My father wasn't Trans. And 8 of my father's brothers , also were child molesters.
Never had a Trans person do anything to me.
Thank you for sharing your story and lending your voice to the ethical side of this debate. I’ve worked in child protection for 7 years, and domestic and family violence for going on 3 years. I’ve spoken with many children who have been sexually abused, and many women who were sexually abused as children. Not one of them has identified their abuser as a trans person.
I also was molested by my father until about the age of 12. I also know of many other women who were also molested by their own fathers. It's not trans people I'm afraid of.
I'm so sorry for those of you who were child victims, and what you went through. As a former child victim myself, its been over 30 years ago, but I've never fully healed. I've accepted that though, and it's helped me to move forward in life. I wish you all the best in health and happiness in life. Humor is medicine for the soul, and that's why I really appreciate Steve and other comedians
@@Elmo18782And the only sources stating about any "drag party" is tabloid websites, a TH-camr who probably was looking for click-bait, and a bunch of redditers who are no doubt haters and don't list any real resources, just as you didn't list any sources and expect people to find what you want them to find and not the actual story. It's these 6 other men who probably are the reason the transgender person is dead. There's not much on this, and it'd probably be best to wait until it goes to trial before anything else will be shown of it. (and don't bother replying unless you have a reparable source, I won't respond.)
This is what I tell people who hate trans/gay people. When did a trans/gay person ever hurt you or anyone you knew besides hurting your feelings just for being trans/gay?
It's so funny to see some people in the comments not learning and continuing the shit argument the guy who got arrested started. It's like they didn't even watch the whole video.
They 100% only watched up to where the guy got kicked out, if they even watched it at all. Those types of people just like jumping an the hate wagon and wanted their opportunity to share their bad opinions and defend an actual criminal, so nothing new for them
Canada isn't perfect, but your ability to convey complex issues with such ease and humour is. That is why Canada loves you, Steve. You never avoid the tough topics because you're so thoughtful of what's happening in the world. Can't wait to see more of you.
As an American, I can assure you, we know. 😂😂
I love how that guy said that women abuse children more but is saying little girls are in danger around "grown ass men".
I'm sorry but the random guy saying "give it a minute" in the crowd killed me 😂
Ireland was my first and only experience in a gender neutral bathroom. Stalls are little room...there a seperate urinal room for boys to use...you are standing facing the wall and away from people. The only shared space is the sinks. Super fast line and wicked awesome.
4 kids. 1 son and 3 girls. Served in USMC. Totally awesome experience. 100% zero issues with gender neutral bathrooms.
Yeah, we can’t do that here because hurr durr reasons and shit.
I genuinely didn't realize there were areas with so few gender neutral bathrooms. Are there areas where they are basically nonexistent?
@@DjurslandsEfterskole in utah alot of the bathrooms i see are divided between man and women bathroom, ive seen very few gender neutral bathrooms. and I'm sure a fair few states in the U.S. are like that as well unfortunately.
I've seen a lot of gender neutral bathrooms in states like California. Typically it's blue cities and states where you find it more. It even depends on the place you go to. There's mostly gendered bathrooms in my city. But if you get closer to the downtown area, it's more progressive and more businesses have gender neutral bathrooms.
I live in North Carolina and I remember the passage of and uproar over HB-2. The bathroom provision in the "bathroom bill" was repealed less than a year later and the entire bill sunsetted in 2020, the bill defined no enforcement provisions, and a sizable chunk of the LEC said they wouldn't devote police resources to monitor bathrooms, but it saddens me that my neighbors vote for and reelect people who would even consider such a bill.
I live in NC and I'm trans... I use the bathroom I feel like using... To hell with that law
@@ozzy7109pervert.
There is a bill being proposed here in New Zealand by a right wing party that is pretty much the same as the bathroom bills from the states. It's so disappointing and scary.
Child predators love easy access.
@@rickyrobbie You must be the heckler from the video.
I just wanna say the assertion that what sign is on the door of a public restroom would deter a predator… is absolutely naïve. If someone is going to be a predator…. They’re just gonna BE a predator
7:38 "give it a minute" was some of the best comedic punchline ive ever seen.
That man deserves a statue outside that comedy club, "Best comedic timing"
He’s actually left a comment a bit further up. Absolutely agree with you on that timing - pure gold.
Thank you kindly!
This was a BIG RED FLAG that his bumble date luckily avoided.
Well, she didnt avoid it as she went out with him, but she did leave when she realized she needed to nope out of there.
That’s why Fani Willis dad taught her to always carry cash 😉
I hope his one phone call, was to her, and she had blocked him, before said phone call.
I agreed with the guy
Given all that's going down with bumble in the last week or so, I laughed way too hard at a 3 months old comment! 🤣
Best outcome for his bumble date, indeed.
I love how this went from a heckler clip to a full-blown show in and of itself. With a happy ending, of course.
You know you fucked up when Steve basically creates an entire mini-doc about how badly you embarrassed yourself, lol.
isn't there a saying along the lines of, "the most vocal usually have something they're hiding"?
This guy fits the bill. I hope he can be kept away from the women's restroom.
I get very strong "every accusation is a confession" vibes from that heckler.
Yes very much so
Correct.
YUUUUUUUP!
so for your comment to be an insult to him,, you are implying that being an alphabet person is bad
@@Bulldog23636 guide us through your thought process why that would be so
I'm happy that when he started saying shit, the crowd didn't just stay silent, there were people who immediately spoke up
Also that his date left immediately.
Maybe it was just because they didn't want the embarrassment of being next to him, but they didn't stick with him

you 2 have it quite backwards, trans people are more often the victims of sexual harassment or assault than the perpetrator and stuff like the bathroom bills only help ensure that they will be continually dehumanized and treated as something sexual because of who they are rather than as a person.

22:03 LMAO, a quote of the day right there
"There's a good reason to flash somebody"
Lmao I like how his date yeeted the fuck outta there before he could embarass her with his drunken tirade. That's some situational awareness if I ever seen it. 😂😂😂
Expanding on the 'a car is a she' bit, these people also consistently draw a line between 'real men' and presumably non-real men. These lines are NEVER associated with just having a penis, they're usually arbitrary cultural standards 'a REAL man drives a truck, a REAL man grows a beard, a REAL man drinks alcohol that tastes like shit'
My confusion is: Either every person born with a penis is a 'real man' by default, no further questions asked, OR the criteria for manhood extends beyond (or, in some cases when women are called men for enjoying masculine hobbies or having less feminine figures, exists without) the requirement of a penis, but it cannot be both simultaneously.
There is a severe lack of logic on either side. Best to just let them go at it and grab the popcorn.
My car is a "he". His name is "Mr. Fusion".
"Do you think little girls can enter the public bathroom with their father?"
"What's a father?"
I always love that argument. Every country except America has gender neutral bathrooms. America has a issue with their public bathrooms, which leads to perverts in general - Not specific people. Which, if you actually look at the differences in bathroom stalls in comparison to America and let's say... The UK. You'll notice how the gaps in America are much wider in comparison to the UK, that're more sealed and shut. Gender Neutral Bathrooms aren't bad, how America creates stalls are. Also, the whole argument of "A Little Girl," - Does the heckler have coherent thoughts? Cause like... a very well adjusted mother or father would enter the bathroom with their daughter or son, and make sure they're safe.
It’s less about logic, more about repeating the narratives he’s been fed. He feels strong taking a stand against, for the most part, a strawman.
I appreciate the courage you displayed on stage, the solidarity and support of the audience as well as the character of the women outside the show.
My daughter’s best friend in University is a trans woman and about to undergo surgery. We’ve known her for a few years and while we have absolutely been friendly to each other, we never really got into deep conversations.
She was over a few weeks ago, playing guitar and singing. She sang with such passion… well, her song moved me. I, a 50 year old cis-male, just broke down thinking of everything she went through.
All the stupid political nonsense about “parent rights” and other cloaked trans-phobia. I asked if it was ok to hug her and through tears I said you always have a home here.
Anyone out there struggling, feeling down, not accepted… you couldn’t be more wrong. You are strong. You are important. You are worthy.

that Steve can put a heckler in his place, in front of a large group of people, and continue to be funny, is an amazing feat in itself.
That’s the sign of a good comedian right there. Comedy is hard enough when it’s scripted and rehearsed, anyone who can be funny completely off the cuff is a real one. Not to mention the stress Steve was probably feeling when the heckler started spewing actual right wing talking points, almost ruining the tone of the show.
