You know that reaction Shaun Martin has to the legendary Cory Henry solo in Lingus by Snarky Puppy? That's how I (a drummer) reacted to that Nate solo. GOD DAMN!
My guess is that there are still a lot of "casual" Vulfpeck fans who don't even know who The Fearless Flyers are and, just like almost every other concert they have gone to in their lives, they didn't think they needed to get to the venue early to see the opening band. My only hope is that all of those people who weren't present for this are now kicking themselves every day for being so stupid :)
This lineup is so fucking talented. So much musicianship, I love it! Nate Smith is a BEAST of a drummer. One of my faves in the modern pop/jazz/fusion music scenes easily. Him and Larnell Lewis are probably my top 2 atm.

I'm happy that Vulfpeck (probably Jack) fully realizes this so much so that they decided to put the camera on him during his solo at the end and even closed the whole video on him. That's some respect right there when drummers don't usually get it!

Not 100%, but very similar. A lot of FF songs are re-works of Cory's songs. Flyers Direct AKA Overture (live in MPLS), Colonel Panic AKA Ketosis, etc.
