The nostalgia is so penetrating; everyone commenting is so honest, it's striking how a childhood experience can become so deeply rooted in our emotions, this is a pandora's box for feelings! And in a sense, it's almost dangerous, depending on the effect of nostalgia in each of us... What I find undeniably beautiful is the presence of this community. It took me back to the days of playing my brother's copy of diamond at night then hiding my ds under my pillow when I heard my mom coming... I've been struggling with depression for a while, and these last few days of just sleeping and feeling bad have been hitting kinda hard. I just hope I can pull through and start to live a life worth living, but in the meantime, I'll keep listening to old soundtracks that remind me of how fun life can be.
Yeah. Depression can make it hard to remember things that felt so common like the simple joy's in life and happiness we took for granted. Even if life wasn't always so bright and cheery. We found ways of remaining optimistic. At least for me ig.
We wish we can go back and feel as content as we did. The emotions we feel are almost indescribable. Especially with how big and vast the world felt. I hope you are doing well nowadays. All we can do is push forward and never cave in. Because I know it will all be worth it one day.
Life is not worse now, it’s just different and we often think there’s only one way to be happy - the old way. The way it was when mum cooked all our meals and dad had all the answers. But there’s joy in doing those things for yourself too and finding your own way through life. It’s rarely easy, but it’s always worth it and I’m sure you’re someone with a lot to offer. I use to live with my dad and was doing college full time. That was until my dad's diabetes became to much. He's health deteriorated fast. And as a result I lost my home and a few weeks ago I lost my dad to stroke. I live with my sister. But it's just rough. Now I'm thinking about just going for a associate degree instead of a bachelor's degree. My sister and I get along sometimes. But right now to me it's not worth it anymore. Sometimes I just think about dropping out. I lost everything and gained nothing.and feel my life is only going to get worse from here. Listening to nostalgia music, playing games from my childhood, and watching old TV shows is the only thing keeping me from ending myself. I'm 24 btw. And as I'm trying to pile drive through school. I can't focus on anything.
Life is a chance you will never get twice, follow the things and people you love, if life feels tough take a break to find yourself (as weird as it sounds, it helped me). Wish u the best, you will find your path
