Great video Jordan can’t wait to see what comes next I was actually at the actual spot where the plane actually landed or should I say crashed back in 1987 when you could get back to it before the previous owner of that land has it now you could sneak back there there is a tree called free bird tree and it has many names and carvings on the tree I don’t think anybody’s allowed back there anymore because you’ll probably get shot buy the new owners but it was one hell of an experience for me some thing I will never forget and I hope they do not ever tear that tree down

I’ve never heard anybody mention whether or not the flight crew was their regular crew or did it changed with each leg of the tour?
I heard an interview with Aerosmith,(I think), who claimed they used that plane just before Lynyrd Skynyrd but made the record company lease a new one because they were too scared of it.

I really like Gene. He always tells the truth about what happened. I'm glad to see the people who recused the survivor there also. It's heartbreaking what happened to all of them and I'm sorry that some of them lost their lives. It's a miracle for the one's that did survive. I'm glad they finally have a memorial there for them. It's sad, but beautiful. Thank you Jordan for sharing this with us. 🕊

    • @TtrainInVain
      @TtrainInVain ปีที่แล้ว +5

@Beamont sure thing and its insignificant now, being as it was a while ago and they aren't coming back, and everyone was victim of circumstance that day, however, its on the pilot to ensure that the plane is absolutely ready to go and prepared for safe flight. Preventative maintenance. Could of compensated for that lost fuel. Its completely irrelevant now and im not blaming anyone. They were warned, however, by Gene himself, and told Gene to sit down and shut up or he'd be removed from the plane before take off.

    • @TtrainInVain

@@beaumontmichaels3575 I wonder why the pilot didn't turn the engines off while they were waiting? Someone said there was something not right with the fuel sensor or something like that. Can't remember just exactly. I'd give everything I own if I could turn back the hands of time and change things and prevent the crash. I have been heartbroken over the crash since the day it happened. Gary was my favorite band member and now he has passed on into eternity. Just hurts so bad. 💔

    Did you know that,
The opening lyrics from "Freebird !"came from Allen Collins wife???
    Her name was,
    Kathy.
    She asked Allen one day,
    "If I leave here tomorrow,
    Would you still remember me?"...
She passed away after complications during the birth of their 2nd/or 3rd child(I'm sorry not remembering exact!)...
    Ronnie and Allen,
    We're close too...
    Somewhere down the line,
Allen told Ronnie what she said...
And that was the beginning of "Freebird!"...
    Rest in Peace,
    🦅🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸🦅

What a wonderful memorial to such a great band. Some of Ronnie's lyrics had a moral message. Like The Needle and the Spoon. Poison Whisky . Simple man. About being humble. Then there's Saturday Night Special about the worrying usage of cheap guns at the time. But they never came across as being overly preachy. Just cool songs. Had he and the others survived , they would have been massive world wide. Although the reformed band with Johnny were/are none too shabby. Thank you for bringing this poignant but interesting video x

Pyles claims of injuries simply don’t jive with his medical reports. Particularly the one where he said he was shot! That was a whopper! Civil wars was an interesting take on the events of that day. For some reason Billy Powell thought it was necessary to lie and say that Cassie Gaines died in his arms, bleeding out from a gash that was ear to ear, in his words! One has to wonder why people choose to tell extravagant lies like that. What would be the purpose?! Just crazy!

What the ultimate disgrace of all of this is that Judy, Dale, Johnny and Rickey haven’t done a damn thing to help the crash survivors! These people have reaped the rewards off of the band to the tune of millions of dollars! The very least they could do is write the checks so these people can live their final chapters in some comfort!

Thank you for doing this Vlog. This was a real tragedy, and it was so special to hear from both of these men. What an amazing thing the land owners did. Those monuments are amazing.

Beautiful monument , Remembering the lost. Bless them all. I thought one time years ago, I seen a video where some lady had a Lynyrd Skynyrd coat , she got at crash site. I'm sure there is a lot of things from plane people have, maybe parts of the plane. One thing for sure God works in mysterious ways.

I was 24 years old in 1977,in Italy the band was little known but songs like freebird and Sweet Bama were very played by us musicians.for me it was a great pain and still today I play those immortal songs. I have seen 5 times the Skynyrd(cover band) of today, but the band died that damn day of 77.RIP, excuse my bad english, ciao from Italy.

It’s somewhat of a miracle that so many of them managed to survive, even with no fire.
