I love the water coming out when you pulled the hose! I laughed so hard cause it reminded me that I am not the only one that has gotten blasted with fish tank water! lol
Thank you so much Dan😂🙏 Just what I needed! To be even more nervous installing my new Fx6. I don't have a fish room, and can't take a shower in the living room. At least I learned that I need to buy silicon grease.
Lol! Turn off in the inlet valve, and then take the inlet valve off while the filter is still running! Leave it running for a few seconds, this will drain some of the water for you because it's still pumping out of the canister and into the tank. Then turn off the outlet valve, then turn off the filter, then remove the outlet valve, no more big spills :)
I had a high pitched whining noise coming from my daughter's brand new Polar Aurora 525 gallon canister filter after setup after a few hours. Shaking and tipping it (releasing air) would fix it for an hour then the high pitched whining noise would return. Turns out the outflow nozzle tube was too restrictive and causing back-pressure on the pump. Drilling out the holes to a larger size (increasing flow) eliminated the noise permanently.
The hood filter water pump thing that came with my secondhand aquarium is really noisy, a grinding kind of sound. I don't mind white noise at all, but geez, is that an unpleasant sound. Must be the motor.
I think you are right! I only clean that filter every 1-2 times a year, so I forget details like that between cleanings...but boy do I remember when I do it wrong and get a face full of water!

We all have a little stupid in us at times...this was one of those times for me :)

I'm a sponge filter guy, but really appreciate you going over the refurb you did. Nice tip about using the scrubbies for bacteria substrate.
Glad you liked the vid, Jack! This is my only running canister. All the other tanks have sponges in them...I'm with ya on that front.
This is exactly what I like after being in the hobby my whole life...

I don't have a single canister filter, but I do have a sense of humor lol
Well, this one had a humorous moment for sure!
I love my canisters. I have jobs, canisters, sponges. They all have their place and use.
I agree. Different filters fill different aquarium needs.

Great video. I've never had a canister filter so it was great to see the process.
If you get one, just be sure to wear a rain coat when you open it.
Making a big mess. Hilarious.
Where did you buy the small rings
I don't remember exactly, but I think I got mine from Home Depot in the toilet or faucet hardware section.
Thank you. I found them on Amazon
learned my lesson opening up! carefully remove and wrap a towel around it lol
Good stuff bro. Plus your funny as hell..✌️
Now I know to keep my mouth closed when I crack a cannister! Cheers.
Right...good practice to keep in mind :)
great video i was rolling on the floor.
I'm glad SOMEONE enjoys seeing me get soaked :)
Does it work with the fx4 too?

I know that sound well...i don't envy you.
Loved it.
Thanks for watching, Lone!
Best video everrrrr
You must have a well developed sense of schattenfreude :)
I think your supposed to take the outtake tube first to release the pressure inside the intake hose lol 😂

I liked it!!
Thanks, Dave!
Omg I just laughed so freaking hard hahahah
I figured YOU would get a kick out of me getting a face full of water :)
When you got squirted I lol and thought, 'this is like one of my videos'! #wetTshirt I'm that guy that liked the vid for the hell of it.
Some folks call it "keeping it real." I call it clumsy.
open the output first an then it wont spray water like that and you can always drain it through the drain valve at the bottom lol
Awesome Video Thanks for Sharing FishFam NJAE19
V. Bot!!!!!!!
Bath time! LOL!
Ready or not, here's the bath!
Where's your bio media? 🤦🏼♂️
In a weir in the back corner of the aquarium that the water runs through before entering the filter. Also, all the stuff in the filter is bio media.
😂💕👍
🕶🎸🎵
you don't put polyfill in a canister you plan to open only twice a year
lol
I know...oops!
🤣😂🤣😂🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🥰😍🥰👌👍
Glad you liked it....nice emoji stream!
