I was present years ago when Squeaky Fromme was captured after her escape from Alderson prison and brought to the federal courthouse for arraignment. She wanted to know if she had to pledge allegiance to the flag and other things like that. And she was so detached. She kept talking about saving redwood trees and was even reading a pamphlet as she was taken away. It was an odd day in court.

You hit another home run with this video. I learned so much, I’m in downtown Los Angeles every weekend and walk pass these streets and places you showed in this video never knowing I was walking by historic places.

Squeaky was looking for external validation because her father's coldness destroyed her self esteem. Made her vulnerable to manipulation. What's most bizarre is that she still appears to be under Manson's influence.

Love all your videos! Every aspect of the Manson story is fascinating. I've watched every interview and every time i can feel myself getting drawn in. I can see how the girls, and the guys became who they became under his influence. Despite what he did or what he didnt do i believe him to be one of the smartest and least understood figures of his generation

Women are desperate to follow a strong male leader. It’s not that difficult to see how Manson did what he did. It would be easy for a Manson figure to do exactly the same thing today, particularly as there’s a lack of strong male leaders in many areas and arenas now.
Thank You for doing this video! I was 9 when Sharon Tate and her baby and her friends were murdered. My mother talked about it for years. Its hard to not think about it to this day.
Another great video! It struck me, watching it, how young Squeaky and the other girls were. And when the reporter was interviewing them they really seemed to believe that they were doing something good. They thought Manson and the others on trial were going to get out again and life was just going to continue. It would be interesting to talk with them today.
I detected a slight proper tone or formality in their speech that girls dont have today, funny considering they were extremely improper!

I worked with a guy that had stayed on the ranch in his young adult years. Every time he told the stories they we’re always the same and never changed. Very interesting stories too the way they were expressed was like it had happened yesterday

I was 2 years old when the Manson murders happened. I remember growing up and hearing about it on the news. Hearing my family talk about it once in awhile. Every time they saw that Manson was going to court or whatever. Totally insane. What he had those people do to Sharon Tate and the other people is just horrific. Thank you for doing this video and sharing it with us. You put such research into everything. You're amazing
He did not tell them to do it. They did in there minds what they wanted to do. He asked them individually “would you kill for me and face consequences?” They said yeah. He didn’t know Tex chose that house. He was in San Diego that night for getting a traffic ticket but Tex Watson chose her house. He did say he knew Sharon and seen her a couple of times at Denise’s and Elvis house. His story stayed the same after many years even the interviews but how many times did they change there story to what they did to those poor innocent people. They blamed Charles then they blamed Tex for the killings and then they changed to who they killed and didn’t kill. Steven parent sister made a point saying “Charles wasn’t there when the murders took place. He did not hold the gun to Susan, Patricia, Leslie or Tex’s head ordering them to kill them”. They knew what they were doing whether if it was drugs or no drugs. He knew Leno because Leno knew a guy named Frankie and he did ask where is Frankie to Leno but other then that Tex Watson and the girls killed them. They are just pointing fingers to other people for there own actions. Yes Charles may have been crazy in his own mind but he knows damn well where he was and what he was doing. It was not the only time they first killed. Bobby beausoleil killed Gary hinman for his Volkswagen and the Manson family killed Donald “Shorty” Shea because they thought he was an informant with the police after the Tate-Labianca murders. All those years the Manson girls never said sorry to the victims families. Paul Tate Sharon Tate’s father saw an interview of Susan Atkins in the 1980s an interviewer asked her “would you give out the words to say I’m sorry to the victims families?” Her response was “you ask hard questions”.. whats so hard about saying there truly sorry for what they have done. Several members of the Manson family did say that the Tate-Labianca murders was a way to get Bobby beausoleil out of prison to make it like it’s a black war. RIP to all the victims.

Also, you'd have to be out of your mind to trust Manson when he told Hard Copy that he'd met Sharon at the homes of Dennis Wilson or Elvis Presley, let alone that Tex chose the Tate house with no input from Manson. But believe what you want.

Diane Lake wrote in her memoir he did meet Dennis Wilson and Dennis Wilson did say they met when he picked up 2 young women at sunset boulevard.
Kaleen Kee I’m not that interested in your overall view of the crimes. Everyone has an opinion, no matter how many interviews or parole hearings we watch or read. I was mostly just correcting your error about Manson not being present at the ranch on the evening of the Cielo murders. He was there, even by his own admission. Manson said a lot of shit in his interviews. Sure, some truth is in there but also a lot of horseshit. When he claimed to have met Sharon Tate, personally it is my opinion he is speaking in a riddle, using a metaphor. In other words, he didn’t literally mean Sharon. He meant Hollywood. People in the entertainment industry. That is the way he talked sometimes. But that is just my read of it. I also think he spewed plenty of nonsense during interviews because he had no love for the media and liked to mess with them. Taking him literally with stuff like that is a mistake. But whatever.

The last picture of the girls with the shaven heads and x in their foreheads, is super creepy. I read Helter Skelter when I was in 7th grade and it scared the shit out of me... Deb17 I was very young when the murders happened. What's fascinating is the devotion the girls had to Manson to the extent of shaving their heads.I do think that lynette squeaky fromme really did have an incredible fragile beauty when she was young, she was Not involved in the killings.
@@johndean4765 I think she was a misguided lost soul. A very loyal person. When I see the footage of her interviews etc at the time, she actually seems like a sweet person and outgoing and friendly. Likeable. I am sure Charlie never would of asked her to go because frankly I don't think she would have had it in her to kill. Her father treated her crappy and I think Charlie showing her love was so foreign to her, that she was devoted to him forever. Sad she couldn't see through it and break away. I was 3 when this happened.

Odd, isn't it? John Hinckley Jr. (who shot Reagan in 1981) is out of prison/secured mental health facility. He lives with his mother in Virginia.
hinckley shot a president and several others with EXPLODING bullets, none of the victims were ever the same and one eventually died from the injuries but after yrs of living in pleasant facilities and not obeying orders to stop writing to jody foster, the dangerous nutcase is out and playing concerts...
The gun was never loaded. She was not about to do harm to the president at all. Which is why she was released in the end. She should have tried to make a point about the dammage to the planet in that way thou.

Ive studied the Manson Family inside and out that I had nightmares, one where I was walking into a funeral home and I walked up to a casket with a woman with long blond hair and she was pregnant and knives were sticking out of her belly, I turned around and all the attendees were dressed in black hooded capes and then all the sudden knives came popping out of there hands and one of them said your next pig, Thank goodness I woke up but during my study with them I knew each member like I lived with them but Grimmlife I didnt know this about Squeaky Fromme, thank you, you and your wife really get to details of a story, you have me enthralled in your stories. Thanks for covering this one and finding these details and I thought I knew everything about the Manson Family. We were going to go vosot the Sharon Tate home but after that dream I skipped it now Im kicking myself because they tore it down in the 90's. Keep up this excellent work, by far the best youtube channel on here.

I love how you presented the video; great stuff. I visited Corcoran CA several times and low key looked for any Manson Family people while he was incarcerated there. I also wrote Manson once asking for an interview for a documentary, but he send my letter back to me unanswered.

chances are, your letter never reached charlie. guards read all incoming packages. the prison sent them back to you, not charlie.

I have such a strong caring for the memories of all the victims of the Manson Family and have talked a couple of times with Sharon Tate's sister Deb, such a together and lovely lady considering what she had to go through. Anyhow except for my love of history I would have nothing to do with any of the Family members in any fashion. One day when trying to research more online regarding Sharon Tate, I came across the most horrible pictures of Sharon at the crime scene, hope I never see those pictures again, yet seeing them makes me totally detest the Family fully, no quarter from me. By far my favorite series on this channel...love the channel..but the way you discuss the subject I get pulled in...my favorite of the uploads was the one where you went down to the little half cave...you added a song song by the mason girls that was really creepy..is that particular light pole with squeakys name historically saved because of how long it's been there...I'm talking even before her name was written..
Even though I grew up with a stepfather, I never had a father because this bastard beat me shitless, and also, my mom hardly ever gave me attention. Now that I'm older and thousands of miles from her, she's hoping I'd come home someday but it's not possible hopefully. I can relate to squeaky but I grew up perfectly fine and with an open mind that didn't turn out like hers.

You're very respectful to places when filming but never forget, you don't need to ask permission. The right was granted to you by the blood and sacrifice of fallen heroes.
Agree. Trust but verify: I know you are always so courteous and polite with everyone, and want to acknowledge their wishes and comfort level, but if you want to film something from a public sidewalk or other public property - as I understand it - you can film anything or anyone you can see from a public space, even if what you are filming from public is a private space. Nor do you need anyone's permission to film them in public with no expectation of privacy (ask the paparazzi!).
A right but in this day and age of school shootings and child abductions it is understandable that schools do not want people taking pictures or video.
people have to be so careful about their kids and school. Good for him to be considerate of those who might be fearful of a stranger with a camera.
Film what your eyes can see in public it’s our right. Shame on the school from stopping you.

Grew up in Westchester, went to Westchester High. When I found out that Patricia Krenwrinkle went to the same high school I was at, I got chills! And now to know that another member has ties to Weschester, I got chills again!

She did a podcast interview a year or two ago. You can find a copy here on TH-cam. To promote her book. She still praised Charlie unrepentant about that. BUT is no longer a major part of what she's about. From the podcast he seems a very cool old flower power hippie type. Sweet downright loveable . You can't imagine that she was once sitting at Sphan movie ranch post trial on camera toting rifles and bullet belts preaching revolutionary uprising with Sandra Good at her side. Redheads and their passions gotta love them.. lol

The whole Helter Skelter /Manson family murders was and still is so bizarre. I was a young kid at the time of the Tate-LaBianca murders. I remember my parents and other grown ups talking about it all the time. I was like 'What is Helter Skelter and Charles Manson?"
I imagined day after day one by one those girls stop turning up to that corner moving on with life until it ended up just one of them showing up only to say ‘screw it’ and turn around and walked away from this part of their life. Love the content Grimmlife! Looking forward to what 2022 has in store.

You can listen to some early demo songs recorded by Manson in the mid 60s now on TH-cam. They're actually quite good although his constant chattering shows how nervous he was during the recording session. It weirdly makes him seem more relatable and human somehow...Perhaps that's how these girls saw him?
they were all musical, if theyd just practiced instead of always going out killing, they couldve ended up another famous 70's musical family, like the Osmonds or Jackson 5...."The Manson Family Singers."

I watched a video of his recording at I believe Brian Wilson’s house, he was pretty good, but the Wilson’s and even Melcher didn’t like Charlie as person, his weird behavior and zero to crazy attitude turned them off. I liked the Clang clang one
I met Manson once. He was a jerk. He was the kind of person you meet once and never hope to meet again. He wanted me to "follow" him, join his 'club,' write music and become famous. He kept saying things like, music is like a river of notes in the sky. All you need to do to write a song is pluck the notes. And that is exactly what his crappy original songs sounded like. I mean. When I heard a few, I thought, there is absolutely nothing that can be done with these stupid songs to improve them.
He wasn't a scary guy. Just a major psychotic coward who weasels his way into people's lives and sucks out all that is good. How he escaped being locked up in the mental institutions, sitting a corner throwing s**t balls at everyone long before the murders, is beyond me.
Yes, these people are a part of out history. A stain on our history. And while there were some amazing things that happened in the 60s. It was a terrible, terrible decade that bled into the 70s.

When I was a kid, we saw them carving x's in their foreheads and I remember a VW Van parked. My mom was the first licensed female PI in California and knew many cops who worked the case. One Sheriff was Climbing down a well looking for a victim and he got his ring caught on rocks as he was going down into the well and lost his finger and the ring. He never found it so goes the story. Can you imagine how heartbroken the families of these girls must have been?
