      Cast iron pot.

@@angelg1106 This is a Jamaican cast aluminum Dutch oven. (I have some from my parents house). There’s a lot of pushback against aluminum but my parents cooked all their Jamaican dishes in them and lived until their 90’s. Many in all parts of the Caribbean and elsewhere still use them today. They have been deemed safe, though it’s best not to cook heavily acidic foods, and not to store food in them. Most people will consume more aluminum from other sources daily than from an aluminum pot. If using aluminum, anodized aluminum (hard anodized aluminum) is recommended as it’s been treated with electricity to make it safe. It’s best not to use metal and not to scour the surface with harsh abrasives in order to maintain the protection .
btw. My parents lived lovely long lives with dad passing last year well into his 90’s. Neither had any issues with Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s .
