A warning to anyone else: my MX Master (the original, not the 2 or 3) had a much smaller battery size and completely different connector. So it seems Logitech had different revisions of the MX Master. Make sure you open up your mouse and take a look before ordering a battery.

Good video! I have the original MX Master as well as the MX Master 3. My original MX still holds a charge for 6-7 days and I've used the living dog snot out of it for almost 8 years now. But I wanted to see if it was possible to replace the batteries just in case it started to get worse. Thanks for the info.

I'm now using an MX Master 3 too, this one is being used by my wife. They are good mice, I really like them too.

Does a battery from eBay really have a temperate sensor though, or does it always report 25-28°c like some phone batteries? Maybe it'd be worth checking if the value on that wire changes when it's charging.

Hi guys, I'm about to buy a new mouse, the choise is between m650 and mx master 3s. But I don't see huge benefits in 3s, from my point of view it's downgrade, why it such heavy mouse (140g) with battery life is 2 monthes, but in cheaper ones it lasts around 2 years from one AA battery (around 10x longer, it's huge difference), and weight is less... In 3s reduntant weight is not in battery for sure. And polling rate is the same, so it's not like mouse uses more energy for better polling rate...
So i just want you to share your experience, how long battery lasts with your upgraded batteries, like 1200 mah etc..?

Hi there, did you by chance measure the connector? I found a 3.7V 1200mAh 603450 on ebay that has several options on the 3Pin (1.0mm, 1.25mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.54mm) plug. Thank!

Good vid. Very informative. You might even be able to get a battery off of eBay that does not need to have any solder work. It would be useful to post the Original Battery ref in your heading details. above. I couldn't find anywhere where you actually mention any reference code for the existing battery.

I mention the model number of the new battery at 57 seconds into the video, but I've added a link to an ebay search in the video description.

I replaced mine with a 1300 mah one. It didn't seem to last too long before telling me it had run out. It was 20 days perhaps of heavy use. :( Charged it a few times when it told me it ran out. This time I just ignored the warning. It's been telling me for a week that the battery has run out. It still works. Getting a replacement battery from Ali Express was really worth while.
Seems that the battery sensor is not actually measuring the charge level... at least it's not with mine. I had to solder the wires from the old battery onto the new one, but apart from that, it's all good.

    • @NearFarMedia

I would assume the charge controller is expecting a certain capacity, and assumes that the battery is flat after an expected amount of discharge, hence it says the battery is flat for ages but keeps working.
At least you figured it out and are getting more life! I just use mine until the cursor stops moving. :)

I assume you can, you should be able to get them from Digikey or Mouser, there should be a part number on the switches themselves.

Hello, i have a MX anywhere 2s, and i notice is a little small, recently i have See in Internet Pages Like eBay and AliExpress, is selled a mx master 2s hard case replacement, the body of the mouse, and i thinking to buy it and make a hybrid, at the inside be the mx anywhere but externaly will be a mx master 2s,it can be posibble?

    • @NearFarMedia
      @NearFarMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I have no idea, but I would assume the internals of different models of mouse to be incompatible with other cases without extensive modifications.
I'd just buy the MX Master 2 (or an MX Master 3, which I now use) to start with. :)

Absolutely ridiculous that Logitech don't sell replacement batteries for current and older devices. We have to go fishing for batteries on
Chinese websites that may or may not work, for a mouse that cost over €100 new. Annoying AF
