    Brings back memories....had one of these for years......many good times only negatives is they are very heavy and scary on a very windy night

      Glad you enjoyed it. I have yet to witness a super windy night. I have been under 6” of snow with the fire keeping me toasty warm.

      @@pnwxplored Spent a night at Virginia Lakes in the Sierras where campers were packing up and leaving in the middle of the night the wind was so bad. You need to have Wildernest pointed in correct position on a windy night to minimize the force of the wind.....also been in rain and hail and stayed snug as a bug. TOO bad nobody is making these anymore

    I’ll make a mental note on position 👍 yes I bet they would sell well, although folks are lazy these days and want an instant pop up shelter!

    If you don't mind me asking, where is this in WA? I know people often don't give their secret camping spots away, but this area looks too good to not ask.

      I plan to have a patron account as soon as I hit 1000 subs with gps tracks and more. Subscribe and when I reach that goal that will be an option. I have 20 years of exploring and finding spots like this and just can’t give away these locations to everyone. I hope you understand.

    I just picked up a wildernest i think im missing the ridge poles to support the tent could you send me some measurements or pictures of what they look like

    • @pnwxplored
      @pnwxplored  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wait do you mean the fibreglass poles on the inside ceiling? Or the outside support poles that go from the ground up? There are 4 fibreglass ceiling support poles. 2 are shorter 160” and 2 longer 171”. Think it depends on your wildernest tent size too.

    what company did you go with to remake your tent? I recently purchased a wildernest and the canvas is trashed unfortunately.

    • @pnwxplored
      @pnwxplored  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The previous owner got it remade 11 years ago at the still existing Canvas Replacements company for $899. I have receipt. Around 2 grand now I tbelieve and you have to send in your old one and wait for it to be remade.

    Watching this dreaming about having my oz-made wildernest set up. How do you reckon you'd go living out of this for a year?

    • @pnwxplored
      @pnwxplored  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It would be a blast full time for a year. You can even pull a small trailer with toys. I pull a snowbike in winter and take ebikes too

    Lookin good! I recently got a Wildernest for my 04 Tacoma and am building it out down here in Oregon. What kind of awning do you have and how did you attach it? What kind of mount are the MaxTrax on? Thanks.

    • @pnwxplored
      @pnwxplored  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I custom made my max tracks mounts with simple aluminum L brackets to attach to shell. I purchased the max trax mount kit too. Rear Rhino Rack Dome awning just fits! I cook off rear tail gate and fridge skids out so wanted a rear awning. Also wanted it to handle some snow load too.

      @@pnwxplored How did you attach the L brackets to the shell? Drill through the fiberglass and bolt on?

      @@tytycascadia yes! And used butyl tape to waterproof

    Fuck sake. Never figured out what the straps were on the ends of the mattress. I've had that pole get bound up when opening before. Any chance you have weighed your rig. I have an 04 and the weight is beginning to kill it.

    • @pnwxplored
      @pnwxplored  ปีที่แล้ว

      I havent weighed it but I did upgrade my suspension with a toytec lift and oldman emu, made huge difference. I pull a snowbike on a small aluminium trailer does fine but in low range she gets warm, next upgrade tranny cooler.
