Geoff, there's 193 - 206 countries in the world (depending how you count them), and 5000 - 7000 (depending how you classify them) languages! Papua New Guinea alone has over 300!
Coincidentally me and my dad booked tickets to Thurso (the most northern station in the country) for the 10th-12th august before you announced any of this! (were doing it mainly for fun since my dad did it 30 years ago as a student so I decided we'll do it again)

There are around 7000 known languages in the world- And there may be even more than that which haven't been widely studied. One country doesn't always equal one language! There are 11 languages spoken in the UK alone and that is just scratching the surface. :)

Off the top of my head I can think of various sign languages...I think there are 3 which are native to the UK. I think there might be other languages but I can't remember them.

G&V look, this was the warm up segment. What about all the world's stations except IOW? Seriously a few years road trip, with age and experience comes wisdom. See how railways influence civilisations and society around the word. Railway planet with guest appearances by David Attenborough. GB is over all too quickly. It's been a wonderful journey. If your in Scotland, you'll be on the north Clyde line for ages because it runs between Edinburgh and Helensburgh via Glasgow and airdrie, also the stations are really close together hahaha

This year, I went a day early (august 11th), and took a train from Most na Soči to Ljubljana through Jesenice.
Adventure and pretty scenery to boot, I'd definitely recommend it!

Where, accessible from New York by rail on a day trip, have I never been? I don't have to worry about the ticket thing, as we have plenty of commuter services where advance fares don't apply. Maybe Wassaic? Or New Canaan?

Parry Bollocka Tamil is one other. I don't think there's 300, but I know there's at least 20.
Jayden Veilstein there are about 300 local languages and dialects because there are so many different tribed. Same goes for e. g. Indonesia. But, obviously, not many people speak these languages.
The entire northeast is full of unique tribal languages such as Khasi, and Garo.

I was going to use #HaveAnAdventure as a great excuse to go see a Torquay game, but we happen to be away at Gateshead that weekend and I think that might be a bit too far (and expensive).

Please can you link me to the Urmston video i cannot find it. Urmston is where i was born and brought up.
Two questions: Does the station still have to exist or could it be a ghost station (e.g. Folkestone East or Folkestone Harbour)? And does it have to be a National Rail Line or can it include Heritage Railways?

That's where I was born and brought up! But this was over half a century ago. I expect we are different vintages!

The Isle of Wight is In the UK.
It is technically not part of Great Britain, however, as "Great Britain" is the name of the largest island in the British Isles and the IOW is a separate island, obviously. They should still go there, though. I don't know why they haven't. They should do Wales, too.

When you pass a station with more than 40 miles per hour inside a train you don't really visit that station. You don't even see that station. That's the way you visited most of the British stations.
