yeah, ambulances involved in accidents often have higher mortality/injury rates... the companies that buy the ambulances don't have to buy the safest ambulance on the market, alot often buy what's minimally required by the state DOH and DOT

we recently had a psych patient screaming about how the ambulance was gonna crash and all that. everyone thought she was just your average psych patient until the crew got t-boned on the way to the hospital. ambulance rolled and it was honestly a miracle no one died. glad i wasn't on that call-

Diego Chacon im no physics expert but an impact from the side would be the same if it's moving or not. Its not like a head on collision where the impact force moves both vehicles in the opposite direction
I used to be an EMT and trust me, it doesnt take much to roll these vehicles. With that ambulance at speed that truck would have rolled it at least once.
Knew of an EMT online on a forum that died from being T-boned by a drunkard at an intersection. Was dead-heading in the back on the return to the hospital because the cab was occupied, he was killed but the ambulance drivers survived mostly unharmed. Drunk was in critical. Took the rear axle right off the chassis. When a car hits the bottom of a tall vehicle like that, especially when both vehicles are in motion, it throws the vehicle off balance and it will tip over.

It had so little damage because it was hit in the rear axis which is super strong. A hit in the box itself would have brought a very different result

Sorry! But in a real code the Emt in the back will not be strapped in a seat, because he or she will be caring for the patient, like doing cpr and what about the firemen who will be helping them? Must ambulances who got hit like this, will roll over! I seen this happen in real life, while I was working as a EMT. Two of our ambulances was going to the same call, when the ambulance in front of me got hit on the side, by a women going throw a red light and it rolled over on to a lady on the side walk and killed her.

I survived a crash a few months ago. When being transported to the hospital it felt like that every tiny jump on the road was another crash on my body. So, that ambulance might be well, but not so sure about the patient
