There are many videos claiming to have you speaking chinese in 30, 15, or even 5 minutes. At least with 5 hours you know there won't be repeats, too many introductions/call to actions, and you can watch it in intervals, picking up where you left off. Becoming fluent in chinese, or any language, takes alot more than 5 hours anyway, everyone knows that.

Thanks to everyone there for all the wonderful videos.I discovered that the voice language translator on my phone is a good way to practice speaking Chinese when your alone.I quickly realized that I was not speaking Chinese very well because the translator had trouble understanding me much like a native Chinese speaker would I imagine, lol.I am to old and do not put enough effort into this to ever become fluent but for some reason unknown to me I feel compelled to press on.xie xie

I find the most difficult part is the speed in which the words are spoken :-) I will hopefully one day learn enough Mandarin to converse with my friend without her having to speak English all the time, plus I want to visit China eventually and also Hong Kong, Chinese for me is difficult but at least the basic sentence formation is similar to English, Unlike Japanese , which I am also trying to learn the basics , because I want to visit Kagoshima eventually, and welcome my friends when they travel here too

I wish I wasn't so stupid when it comes to learning and retaining different languages...I would like a job in a Chinese owned and run business that would push the conversation in that language into my everyday existence

My current goal is to learn Arabic, Armenian (my fiancée is Armenian-American), (Mandarin) Chinese, Czech (a lot of my family is Czech-American), French (already have some years of study), German (already have a year of study), Italian (very familiar because I sing opera, though not much formal study), Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish (some formal study and a lot of familiarity because I’m Texan), and Swahili.
I’ve just started my study of Chinese; I’m looking forward to immersing myself :)

How can I let my videos reach those who are interested in learning Chinese? Murmur abracadabra?
I’ve made many videos for an illustrated account of Chinese characters in a funny way.
About 3000 Chinese characters cover 99% characters in newspapers and books. From my previous videos you can learn about 400 common characters.
There are about 120 commonly used Chinese character radicals. From my previous videos, you can learn about 80 basic radicals.
I’ve spent about 100,000 hours studying English humor and Western culture, and many years studying Chinese culture and jokes. My native language is Chinese.
