Random Person i've only played it 2 times and i'm undergoing a fucking shock how did i not notice second vera's dress? how come i never have discovered clean knife spears? fuck, why didnt anyone tell me you can poison throwing weapons???
I honestly forgot about them as well. They don't do any good outside of this dlc though. There aren't many vents in the wasteland. I don't remember ever finding one outside of the dlc. They might exist and I could have missed them. I only explored 95% of this game, after all!
Oxhorn. . .You missed a couple things of note. First off, since you liked the cloud vision drug. You CAN get more of it outside of the casino! Upon finishing the dlc, the BOS bunker that is now yours (it becomes a player safe zone, for sleeping and storing items), has a chem station. On the table is a jar or cloud residue. It will replenish every other day. Second, if you did well enough at the casinos (well enough that you can no longer bet at the tables), you will receive a voucher in the mailbox, at the BOS bunker. Every three days you can receive (2) vouchers for 1000 chips each. This comes in handy with the casino vending machine in the bunker, as you can purchase 308 rounds on the cheap. Well, let's be honest, anything from the vending machine is basically free from now on, if you did well enough to get the renewable vouchers. And for anyone wanting to know. This can be done on every version of the game. I did this on the 360. So, no mods needed!
You can also get a voucher for 100 chips every three days if you're awful at gambling but can end the DLC in the positive with the casinos. I did this by only earning like, 1 chip. x'D
you can repair the holorifle with a LAER or Laser Rifle with Jury Rigger. Also, take the "Vigilant Recycler" perk, and create Optimized ammo for the Holorifle, and you have one of the two best Energy Weapons in game.
Couple years late, but what's the other best weapon? I found the Holorifle to be the best Energy Weapon in the game, bar none (at least for an Energy Weapons character).
I honestly despised this DLC before you made this, I gave it another try and adventured a lot more. I actually discovered that if I take my time and explore, I enjoy it a lot more; no more rushing through for me.
I always hear that Dead Money is regarded as the worst of the NV DLC, but I loved it. The area, the enemies, the atmosphere, the whole feeling as you play it was great and I wish we could return to it afterwards but I see why we cant too.
Synninide Injection You have to grow into it. First time is hell, third is fun as you know by then how to abuse the vending machines and steal ALL the gold
Many consider it the worst gameplay wise (Especially on your first playthrough) but also concede it has the best story out of all of them. I personally think Honest Hearts is the worst since it's story doesn't really tie into anything else and most of its gameplay consists of boring fetch quests...
Aight, so I did a lot of thinking through this series: “why do the fallout 4 companions just not feel like...any of these?” And I finally have it. To me, the fallout 4 companions just don’t feel like they actually live where they are. Out of everyone, the player should be the LEAST used to how the Commonwealth currently is. Yet, Preston says all the time “the Commonwealth is so much bigger than I thought” not to mention he doesn’t even say anything about taking back Quincy or anything to do with the gunners. Just about all of them react to sights around the Commonwealth (the USS.Constitution for example) like they’ve never seen or heard of such a thing before, yet half of them were born there and the other half have been there at least before you wake up from cryo! All their stories just seem so self contained, with most of their environmental comments just being related to bring judgy about picking up trash.
Fun fact: you can resurrect Vera (on PC) She doesn't move and gives no dialogue You can still get her dress by "talking to her" Also For those collectors out there there is some embalming fluid you can collect Four can be found at the Campanas del Sol in Salida del Sol North in a room next to a staircase that leads into the lower levels. Useless and not expensive but you can find it and pick it up
I still need to get the achievement for saving Dean (guide dang it!!! You literally cannot save him if you make a wrong choice in ANY of his dialogues) so I know what I'll be doing that time
I love how Oxhorn still thinks in Fallout 4 logic. Referencing the Commando Perk despite that it has no relations to automatic weapons in fallout new Vegas.
Oxhorn: if you could create Oxhorn in a video game, would you be more like Moria Brown (Wants to explore and help, from safety), or Chief Hanlon (plenty of stories) [Wanted to ask during Scotch & Smoke Rings on youtube]
I feel like he'd be both, like he'd send you around to collect old world (broken) holotapes and he would repair them and tell you the story of the place they came from.
there's an oxhorn settler mod, with the companion framework mod you can recruit him, he won't have special dialogue or even Ox's voice, but it's a good substitute.
If the Holorifle was built by Elijah then how is there codes for weapon mods in a pre-war vending machine?Especially if what you said is true and the items are inside the machine (Which I dont believe)
Elijah could have written the codes himself. Seeing as he was trapped and needed a way to manufacture stuff. -edit: I think the vending machines use replicator technology, kind of like 3D printing but on an atomic or nano scale.
If the second part of what you said is true then yes I believe the first part could also be true. I was more saying that following the logic that the items are stored in the machine, the item codes dont make sense. Seeing as how you can genuinely get infinite items from a machine, the only true lore friendly answer is some sort of replicator technology
I believe how the machine work is it actually break down the chips and 'print'' the item into what the code tells it to make. Basically, it's a very advance 3D printer. So the codes were probably made by Elijah too?
How can there be upgrades for the bear trap fist? Because the upgrade is something that is already in there and then modified for the weapon. I think the same goes for the holorifle. Elijah could've gotten the components from the machine and also from weapons around the villa. Then the component upgrades could be compatible with the holorifle. I dunno know, just what I think.
Dead Money was an amazing series! Truly fascinating. I love the way you dig deep into the lore & every option. You impart maximum understanding to us, the viewers. Also, adding a special video at the end for the Loot is positively inspired.Thank you! The continuity of the storytelling is truly impressive. I really enjoy these week long videos about one topic. You are a truly gifted storyteller. Please keep making these wonderful videos/stories. Can you do a video on The Big Empty? It was referenced in Dead Money, but I know nothing about it. Thank you for all of your hard work!

yes loot the dress from Veras corpse and wear it. it has been soaked in her bodyfluids as her corpse slowly rotting away and collecting dust for some 200 year, but it still looks brand new
Feel like a few people might want to know this. If it's your first playthrough of Dead Money, look up the location of the Sierra Madre snow globe. Instead of caps, it gives you 2000 madre chips. Put these all into stimpaks and you're set for the rest of the game, DLCs included
Thank you so much. Loved being taken back through the sad story of the Sierra Madre. So happy I found this channel. Than you for the hard work and the great content.
Great job on making these videos. I never knew how deep the rabbit hole went. Looking forward to learning about Old World Blues. That was my favorite DLC in New Vegas.
Police pistol really is the best gun you’ll get while you’re there. You can buy the ammo for it with chips, you find several others to repair it with, and it does like 30 damage per shot.
"It can be hard to repair" [Laughs in Jury rig] Also somewhy I could repair it with laser rifles, plasma rifles and recharger rifles when I had the perk
I kept the bars at my house and took one or two with me whenever I wanted to buy an expensive unique gun. I already had all the implants and about 30k in caps. Plus I like the knowledge that I have lots of gold.
in my game i like to establish a sort of trophy room where i show off where i have bean and where all my companions hang out. this dlc added a lot of cool stuff to show ive survived the dead money dlc
@@catwithtwolegs7886 Prolly that, for the Xbox 306 version, you get the exp bonus for both main endings of the DLC, regardless of your choice: Cash Out AND Safety Deposit Box
Man... I think New Vegas has my favorite DLC's yet. So much lore and story was put into this one piece of it. I had originally thought Dead Money was simply a gauntlet DLC to test your skills, it was cool to learn where Father Elijah went, and it was an okay first DLC. But after searching for lore I was dead wrong, Dead Money is not just a gauntlet that ties some loose ends and adds perks, but it is a very interesting story and tragic DLC, and it all made a nice message. There is so much stuff that even I, who was searching high and low, missed and only discovered after watching these videos. The characters were also great, and are memorable. The best part is the fact that Dead Money is just one of the DLC's New Vegas has to offer, and I'll be looking forward to the videos on them all.
Great job on this series. Extremely entertaining beginning to end. I had a pretty good picture in my head of the story of this DLC, but really missed a ton of details you pointed out. Absolutely loved the writing of some of this New Vegas content. Cheers!
Just finished this DLC and I actually enjoyed it. Now the main reason for that was because I used Cole's Hideout mod to give myself a base while doing the tedious and lengthy villa quests. Because the hideout gave me a good roleplay excuse to loot everything, the DLC wasn't as annoying and exploring the villa felt more natural because I had someplace to rest and store my loot. For anyone who HATED Dead Money because it forced you to play like a survival game, I suggest installing Cole's Hideout or a similar mod. I now consider DM to be near the same level as OWB.
I found a single shotgun in Dead Money! Look up above on the balconies jutting out from the buildings, and you’ll notice a skeleton poking out over the edge... if you time a jump just right, you can grab the shotgun by the barrel. Totally changes the experience of this DLC, especially if you take the And Stay Back perk
I can't wait for the Honest Hearts DLC series. It was my favorite DLC, and my god does it have amazing depth. The narrative is an amazing commentary on colonialism, isolationism, and primitivism, and the survivalists story is so deep and touching that it follows int he footsteps of great American Southwest writers like Zane Grey, and Jack London. The location of Zion Park supports the religious and social anxieties in the Fallout universe on so many levels, and just proved to be beautiful even in the FO:NV engine. The whole thing showed an anthropological theme network in what was a memorable and fun DLC.
so I think the steady recipe next to all those coffee cups is a reference of futurama's episode three hundred big boys with fry's one hundred cups of coffee. which i find hilarious
I'll admit, Dead Money was my least favourite of the FNV DLC's, Honest Hearts and Lonesome road are my favourites while Old World Blue's is fantastic if you just like the cookyness of it all. Really looking forward to your videos on my two favourites. Also something I should mention about the Junk rounds perk in Dead Money, not many people think it is very useful perk but for early levels when you need some powerful ammunition or your getting into a stage where you come across a weapon that uses an exceeding rare ammo type (like 12.7mm or .50 BMG) you can make Junk rounds to supplement them until the normal rounds become available. In truth the effect of Junk rounds in Dead Money is kinda moot considering how there is a finite amount of tin cans and scrap metal and you always find enough .357 magnum ammo to get by.
Honest Hearts seems to underrated by everyone. I almost never hear anyone else say it was their favourite, but I absolutely loved it. Definitely my favourite of any Fallout DLC, with the exception of Fallout 4's......... -Nuka-World- Wasteland Workshop :)
For me, Honest Hearts represented that potential "utopia" of the wasteland, it seemed so... untouched by the fires of nuclear war yet still had elements of it seeping in from the outside. Plus honest hearts had one of my favourite stories of Randall Dean Clark in any fallout game to date. Lonesome road for me was the opposite it almost showed what devastation looked like in the early days of the Nuclear Holocaust albiet even more dangerous with all the mutants running around.
I've learned a little trick with the Dead Man's Hand challenge. Just drop the card that you get at the villa and pick it up. Rinse and repeat until you get the challenge completed
This series was some of the finest game video I have seen. I sure hope you continue with the rest of the New Vegas dlc's after watching these, people should realize how amazing New Vegas is, and to think it was developed in a year. Wow!
watching this series made me rewatch Many A True Nerds playtrru. one healthbar, no recovery items playthru. the daedmoney part was so very intense! ox certainly has the lore down better!
Loved the dead money series Ox. I can imagine this taking a lot of time to put together. Looking forward to you covering other fallout dlc's, possibly in a similar fashion.(edit: i should've waited til the end of the vid lol)
You have to stack the cards to add up a number between 23 and 26. The higher number wins. I'll do an example. 16 25 26 24 23 25 Top would have to put a 10 card onto the 16 to win. You can look up easy tutorials but I hope this helped a bit
Man, I just finished dead money and it still gets me. Something is different with the themes of this dlc, hits that sad existential part of my brain more than anything
From someone who will never be able to play Fallout, due to not having a computer, thank you for making these videos. They are very informative and entertaining. ✌
I think it's time to revisit New Vegas and Dead Money, I missed so much last time. At that run through I only wanted the B.A.R. (aka automatic rifle) to add to the collection.
Ox, this was a great series, 10/10. If I can give you one bit of advise for the future of your NV videos it's do Lonesome Road as the last DLC. All other 3 mention of battle of the 2 couriers, and being the last NV DLC it makes since they leading up for the fight. Also, when you do Honest Hearts and the Story of the father in the Cave, Randall Clark, I think I might cry with your telling of that story. Hell I shed some tears playing reading his lore when I played HH.
When I arrived in dead money I had some van graf combat armor and it never got removed from my inventory and I was able to equip it as soon as I started.
Sir! Your Dead Money series was excellent. I got a much better understanding on the context in the DLC. Thank you and please keep on posting your gret Fallout material!
Dead Man's Hand: The legend behind that name is that, according to the legend, Wild Bill Hickok was holding that exact hand when he was shot in the back by Jack McCall on August 2, 1876, in Nuttal and Mann's Saloon in Deadwood, Dakota Territory. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_man%27s_hand
You should be able to give it to her like any other dress she will accept. But I may have had a mod that allowed that. Now I have made my own Veronica mod that changes her default outfit and has a unique dress for her based off of Vera's.
I'd like to learn more about the Big MT, could you do that DLC next? I love your videos and have recently been obsessed with fallout lore, despite not owning or playing any of the games, and this series is very fun to watch and the Big MT seems like an interesting DLC and I haven't been able to find any videos covering the Big MT as in depth as you have covered the Dead Money DLC which I was really interested in and now know quite a bit about the DLC now, so thank you for your videos and this series.
Also another thing worth mentioning is that there is a second code for weapon repair kits right in the police station so you can get it at a much early state in the DLC. Enter the police station from the front entrance and keep walking forward towards the cells then take a right and go down to the end of the hall, the code is sitting on top of some filing cabinets
idk I always hated this dlc, I love your videos on it! I loved the concept of this dlc as well. But idk It just didnt feel right. I just found myself hating the dlc and just wanting to get back to my lovely willow
One character I really look forward to you profiling in New Vegas is YES MAN! I am a fan of Dave Foley and The Kids in the Hall. He was so good in this.
Lora Elstad I understand why Oxhorn hasn't gotten to Yes Man, yet. But I hope he gets to him soon simply for the fact that to this day I still have the biggest crush on Dave Foley. Even as I am embassassing old now.

Police Pistol and Cosmic Knife, perfect for blowing heads off and cutting bodies!
I think people dislike it because it's not covered by the Cowboy perk. But despite that, it's still a good weapon.

God mentions Big Empty on first meeting him without a point to the achievement.
Fun fact: the automatic rifle is based of the American BAR (browning Automatic Rifle) A light machine gun first used in the late stages of world war 1
"It can be hard to repair"
[Laughs in Jury rig]
Also somewhy I could repair it with laser rifles, plasma rifles and recharger rifles when I had the perk
This video series deserves some kind of award; so thorough and moving. I'm a big Mass Effect fan so feel free to apply the same format to those games.
“We can’t get both of these”
Me: laughs in xbox
When did he say that?
No one got it
@@Berchh i did
@@thelastdunkonian2846 what does it mean?
Great video Ox Dead Money is one of my favorite dlc for New Vegas Its brutal on hardcore mode.
Daniel Spencer on hardcore challenge becomes pretty big i remember starving and being thirsty a lot
The way dog jumped up and down XD
can't wait to hear your thoughts on the lonesome road dlc! there's so much amazing lore and story content
Great job on this series. Extremely entertaining beginning to end. I had a pretty good picture in my head of the story of this DLC, but really missed a ton of details you pointed out. Absolutely loved the writing of some of this New Vegas content. Cheers!
In shining armor is bugged.
Trey Morrison why would you even take that perk oh but if your on pc you can get a mod to fix it
@@steveirwinsleftnut6925 I get it just from the dt you get from using any metal
Just finished this DLC and I actually enjoyed it.
Now the main reason for that was because I used Cole's Hideout mod to give myself a base while doing the tedious and lengthy villa quests. Because the hideout gave me a good roleplay excuse to loot everything, the DLC wasn't as annoying and exploring the villa felt more natural because I had someplace to rest and store my loot.
For anyone who HATED Dead Money because it forced you to play like a survival game, I suggest installing Cole's Hideout or a similar mod. I now consider DM to be near the same level as OWB.
I am building my whole 2nd play through courier around being able to as easily as possible beat the sierra madre dlc
Chrunchy-Burrito
Good Luck!
probably high sneak and unarmed/melee
Sneak, Unarmed and Repair/Survival
Unarmed gives access to multiple attack speed perks that melee doesn't
I'm doing the exact same thing. And good luck.
Liam Tennyson yes exactly
The whole thing showed an anthropological theme network in what was a memorable and fun DLC.
so I think the steady recipe next to all those coffee cups is a reference of futurama's episode three hundred big boys with fry's one hundred cups of coffee. which i find hilarious
this dlc had more depth then all of fallout 4 😂
Than* and use capitalization This, DLC and Fallout
I've stepped in a puddles that were deeper than fallout 4
Yup, this *dlc* had more depth *then* all of *fallout* 4
The Automatic Rifle is based of the BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) that was used by the US in WW2, if anyone was currious
Thank you for this series, watching your videos got me to re-install Fallout NV, i hope you do Honest Hearts next.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR ALL THE DLC SERIES! I've seen every one of your Fallout videos, but this series was definitely my favourite so far!
And it can also be useful for Hardcore if you need powerful rounds.
DrakePlays good argument
Hated it first time, 10+ playthroughs later and I absolutely adore it. It is my favorite DLC of all time and my favorite part of the entire series.
I've learned a little trick with the Dead Man's Hand challenge. Just drop the card that you get at the villa and pick it up. Rinse and repeat until you get the challenge completed
With that mod that enhances the shadowing makes your game look like a Tell-Tale game. It looks awesome!
I dig that helmet, it makes the player look like Cobra Commander or a Viper trooper.

I stuck all the gold bars in the bathtub in novac. Never sold them, just kept them. XD
For your next Lore Video For New Vegas, can you do the story of the Sunset Sarsaparilla Blue Star Bottle Caps?
This series was some of the finest game video I have seen.
I sure hope you continue with the rest of the New Vegas dlc's
after watching these, people should realize how amazing New Vegas is, and to think it was developed in a year. Wow!
watching this series made me rewatch Many A True Nerds playtrru. one healthbar, no recovery items playthru. the daedmoney part was so very intense! ox certainly has the lore down better!
Loved the dead money series Ox. I can imagine this taking a lot of time to put together. Looking forward to you covering other fallout dlc's, possibly in a similar fashion.(edit: i should've waited til the end of the vid lol)
will you do a video on caravan....could never figure it out and neither could any of my friends.
You have to stack the cards to add up a number between 23 and 26. The higher number wins. I'll do an example.
16 25 26
24 23 25
Top would have to put a 10 card onto the 16 to win.
You can look up easy tutorials but I hope this helped a bit
The Auto Rifle looks strikingly similar to the real world BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) used be US soldiers in WWII. Even the name is quite similar
Let's agree to make a video Ed-E (like if you agree)
that would also mean covering the lonesome road dlc
GhostPrime12 You say that like its a downside
Jake Stavinsky it is a downside because he needs to do the other dlcs first or else lonesome road won't be as good
Jake Stavinsky I'm saying it like waiting until he covers lonesome road. So he can cover both at once!
A cosmic knife spear thrown in the head usually one-shots ghost people. Feels so good to see their heads pop.
Good series of videos :)
The Sierra Madre armor is so Resident Evil.
This whole DLC was highly RE-ish, now that I think about it.
I love Dog's dance
Man, I just finished dead money and it still gets me. Something is different with the themes of this dlc, hits that sad existential part of my brain more than anything
Just finished and I agree..
wasn't their a bunch of magazines to loot in the dead money dlc as well? overall I enjoyed the the videos nice job .
From someone who will never be able to play Fallout, due to not having a computer, thank you for making these videos. They are very informative and entertaining. ✌
How long does it take to make one of these videos???
I think it's time to revisit New Vegas and Dead Money, I missed so much last time. At that run through I only wanted the B.A.R. (aka automatic rifle) to add to the collection.
When you have stuff to do and then Oxhorn uploads a new video. I swear it's not procrastination.
Huh. Maybe it was confirmed for a quest item?
Sir! Your Dead Money series was excellent. I got a much better understanding on the context in the DLC. Thank you and please keep on posting your gret Fallout material!
Old World Blues next?
Dead Man's Hand: The legend behind that name is that, according to the legend, Wild Bill Hickok was holding that exact hand when he was shot in the back by Jack McCall on August 2, 1876, in Nuttal and Mann's Saloon in Deadwood, Dakota Territory.

"Point Three Five Seven" Please, just say "Three-FiftySeven" in the future!
What I love about New vegas dlc is that everything is connected from the base game to ulysses him self
Vera's dress looks great on Veronica.
JETWTF How do you get the dress on veronica?
You can give Veronica a dress as a gift, if you didn't give her a dress yet you can give her Vera's dress and she will wear it.
JETWTF i tried that and it still didnt work!? Any tips/advice?
You thinking what I'm thinking
1000 degree knife v,s deathclaw
Also another thing worth mentioning is that there is a second code for weapon repair kits right in the police station so you can get it at a much early state in the DLC. Enter the police station from the front entrance and keep walking forward towards the cells then take a right and go down to the end of the hall, the code is sitting on top of some filing cabinets
idk I always hated this dlc, I love your videos on it! I loved the concept of this dlc as well. But idk It just didnt feel right. I just found myself hating the dlc and just wanting to get back to my lovely willow
MrKaspy you can bring her to sierra madre
Heinrich Heimler I brought her once, but her gun made me feel like I was cheating.
install mods to increase spawn to balance the game
Heinrich Heimler hm maybe I will then. I wanted to hop back onto the game. I just have to fix the crashes I got before
MrKaspy who
One character I really look forward to you profiling in New Vegas is YES MAN!
