VK 75.01 (k) has been out for couple days now and after playing 10+ battles with it, I have quite a nice idea what this tank is all about. It features the biggest alpha damage on any tier 8 premium heavy tank, 490. It is a back turreted tank with fairly good armor... but is there anything else? Does it need anything else? How to compares to the good old Löwe? Which tank is the best premium heavy tank from Germany?
So many questions... let's try to find answers.

The selling point of the vk was 490 alpha, that is all, with that comes many complications with many weakspots because German: big coupola, weak cheeks, overmatchable deck, big lower plate, mediocre view range, -5 gun dep, no ridgelines to poke, Russian gun handling. well if it was Russian premium: tiny coupolas, blackhole side armour and 520 alpha. Lowe still wins my heart over this. Trust me guys.

So right. While I would love to pick up this tank, I have a Lowe and frankly, I don't play it enough, cause I love it. Between the 2, I would take Lowe every time.
I mean, you aren’t exactly wrong, but the weaknesses aren’t as glaringly bad like you are making it sound. This VK 75 is no pushover though, its almost exactly identical to fighting a VK 45.02 B, just scaled to tier 8. The big “weakspots” aren’t even that weak, the other’s are small enough to shrug off maybe half the shots you take.
Lowe is still better imo, only slightly though. This tank is still strong and shouldn’t be looked down upon.
-5 gun depression forward only over the side seems different,, a lot different.

I dont have the löwe to compare, but I have the same impression, the amour is good in the right circumstances but this tank litteraly turn into a goldmine during a battle, so much gold is fired at it.
It looks better on paper than it feels in the game.

I f-ing love TH-cam autocaptions, I was dying of laughter the entire video. Here’s a few gems: Love is also super strong in terror (yes it is mate, all those tortured by love bastards). Judas why did you choose me busy (I don’t know Jesus, I really don’t know). And I mean it, I would rather in in lava in a tier 10 battle (me, every time I play tier 8 Tanks, and I mean it too).
Vk is lower tier seal cluber, Lowe is more well rounded and better against higher tiers.
Good vid. Love my Lowe as well, bought it way back when I started for extra exp and silver instead of premium acc. How does the VK. compare to the Chrysler K?
My 2 cents: I have Mauerbrecher and Lowe. I don't see why Mauerbrecher gets so much hate, since if you angle your armor and hide the cupola it works very well. I have both that and the Lowe because they play VERY differently and I like both styles. Mauerbrecher is good for front line when you wanna fast cap a base and hide other cappers behind you. Lowe is a hull down beast that uses terrain for its benefit. I would take Lowe over any other German tier 8 premium heavies because it's versatile, but it seems like all of them have their applications. Personally, I won't be buying the new one because 2 German tier 8 premium heavies is more than enough for me and because if I wanna side scrape I can already do that, so it adds no new experiences for me. 50 more alpha damage per shot is not a big enough change to warrant that kind of money being spent (imo).

At the End its the queations which makes more fun Personal. I love the lowe, but the VK makes overall more fun for me because of the 490 Alpha and the sidescrape ability. A good Player can compensate the weaknesses of the Tank a Bit so it can be very competetive in most situations
i love my lowe but im having a blast in the VK 75.01(k) a great tank and at £25 that's a steal compared to some of the other premiums tanks IMO.
It's cheap because it's underwhelming. Half the frontal hull has the same armor as T8 mediums which is nothing, so you have to stay hull down. Okay fine, if you manage to go hulldown you still have the easy to hit and pen cupola and turret cheeks. You start sidescraping and the same easily penned cupola and turret cheeks are back at it again. That is, if they dont just load HE and start chunking your HP while also knocking out modules and crew. It's sacrificed way too many things to get the 490 alpha. I have the tank, I'll continue to play it because I think it looks awesome and I've been waiting for it for months, but that doesn't mean it's a good tank.

Personally I love the Lowe but I can see the situational advantages of VK.
I don't know what kind of RNG gods you've prayed to in order for the gun to go work like it did on the VK, but even with a 4 skill crew on it currently it certainly feels like I'm working with a lot worse than .37 accuracy.
*Edit:* To add to this, I don't understand why everybody always just writes off the Mauerbrecher. It's not like the 20 vs 30 km/h really makes that much of a difference when you're in a heavy tank. When it comes to the heavy tank role the Mauer does it better. It sidescrapes better, brawls better, has better DPM despite only 50 less alpha, and has a better view range. It's a lot easier to bounce shots in the Mauer than the VK. The cupola is easily penned on both so thats moot. Mauer has a smaller lower plate thats easier to hide and you're going to have to keep the entire front hull of the VK hidden anyways because of the massive lower plate that gets penned by T7 tanks and up. If the Mauer is nothing but an XP and credit pinata than the only difference between it and the VK is that one has 440 alpha with a 12 second reload and one has 490 alpha with a 14.5 second reload.

@@dailyisdead All you're doing is rehashing what you hear people say about the Mauer. I'd hardly call the VK an improvement over the Mauer after having spent as much time in both as I have. I'd even go so far as to say that the Mauer is actually even better in some situations because of the gun depression it has.
The 20 km/h you're going in the Mauer isn't going to be the difference between life and death compared to the 30 the VK does. You're an actual heavy tank, and not a heavium. You have no speed or mobility on either tank worth mentioning. Neither tank is anywhere near mobile enough to flex. You pick a side and that's where you wind up.
And a driving weakspot? And the VK isn't? Mauer sidescrapes better and has a better armor profile. The cupola on both tanks are easily hit and penned so that's a moot point. The lower plate on the Mauer is also smaller and easier to hide than having to hide the entire front end of the VK because half of your frontal hull will be penned by T7 and up. Not to mention every penning shot through the front will knock out your engine in the VK where it doesn't with the Mauer. The Mauer tracks will also eat up a lot more shells and soak up damage unlike the VK's.
And no, the VK does NOT have .34 accuracy. We were both wrong there actually. I just went and checked on the tank in my garage and it's .39. So even worse. Until you come up with actual facts as to why the VK is better, all you're spouting is conjecture.
SuperGankBros let’s address some of your arguments. DPM is slightly better on the Mauer but it means nothing unless you NEVER idle your gun. Effective DPM comes out roughly the same, and frankly having more alpha, and pen, is better for the role that the Mauer and VK are given. Being gold-sinks its better to out trade than have 100 more DPM. The LFP on the VK is more trollish than the Mauer because of the angle it is at, despite being bigger. If you angle your armor and wiggle you can bounce a fair number of 250mm penetration shots, something I find slightly less effective in the Mauer. I also find the gun much more consistent on the VK than the Mauer, the effect range imo is slightly better without being trolled so hard. The Mauer is a giant weakspot in of itself. It has the profile of a Mauschen but the armor values are only at the VK100’s level. The cupola is huge, definitely bigger than the VK75. The cheeks are so much bigger, and there is much more flat area to pen. The LFP is mostly the same as the VK, though in my experience the VK feels more trollish (might be a new tank thing tho). The only saving graces the Mauer really has is the versatility with 8 degrees of gun depression and the absurd side armor because of the tracks. I definitely won’t argue about the sidescraping, it feels noticeably weaker on the VK. Other than that, it definitely feels as if the VK is a slightly better Mauerbrecher. Its by no means as good as the Lowe, but I find it a better drive than the Mauer.
@@dailyisdead Kid, I have a 52.2% overall win rate and a 54% WR in the Mauer. Both of which are higher than the majority of the people who play this game, and I'm willing to bet better than yours. Like I said, all you have is conjecture. *Edit* I've got a 4 skill crew in my VK, rammer, vents, vert stabs. BiA, snapshot, Smooth ride etc. The gun is sitting at .39 accuracy.
My T34 is sad. Used to be tier 8 king of alpha but not any more. And the new alpha king still has better dpm and gun handling than poor old T34.
I have all 3 of those premium German Heavies and love them all for different reasons. Glad to have so many choices of playstyle...I'll happily support the game by buying premium tanks and time. Been playing for years and seen ups and downs but always stuck by it and play daily. 😀

You know what's funny? The VK 75 is actually a Tier X premium in Blitz, renamed to VK 90 something, while the VK 168 is Maus of tier 8 there.

The Lowe in game is a hybrid the real Lowe plans were 4 diffrent plans and WG combined best aspects of 2 the proposed plans

Got kind of triggered when you didnt aim for the Tiger 2's turret roof and just overmatch it instead of aiming at the turret front and hitting the mantlet.

Got a gamescom 5 round code and tested it 5x. It was amazing just the damaged ammo was annoying. You had also the exp that he often gets hits in ammos?

Is it a premium tank? If so how do you get it?
My first 100 battles in the VK I had 44% WR but at the 150 mark already at 50% and climbing rapidly.
That's because I stopped playing for damage and started exploiting the tank's fear factor.
It stops an enemy advancing dead on their tracks because no one wants to be the next to get 500 alpha in the face, while the rest of your team have a numerical advantage.
You just need to make sure you never go alone so the enemy won't rush you while reloading.
Don't try to do lots and lots of damage and expose yourself, just make sure you are there and alive for as long as possible.
What I hate most about the tank is the view range and I think WG went one step too far trying to balance it, should have at least 390.
Also Lowe looks like shit and this one looks the tits.

on a side note, I want one because I can use a coupon to get a basic one cheap, I have no heavy german crew trainers

I have the Lowe, at first I was like, I hate this thing, then I said u know what, it’s got the best coin booster I’m goin use it n get silver, boy I love the Lowe now, glad I got it. I may need to get the other one in this vid n just bounce back n forth to not get bored.

They should give the tiger II’s gun 390 alpha like the higher tier 105mm guns and also buff it’s dpm to something like 2200 or maybe even more like the caernaevon has
TheBodarkMan 390 feels like too big of a jump from the Tiger 1. 320 is a pretty good spot imo, I think 360 would work too.
When the Defender came out, every youtube said the same thing about it as about the VK 75 now. They said "Too many weakspots, inaccurate gun, IS-3 better, etc." In my opinion the VK will break the meta as the Defender did, just wait few month.
Not at all... VK got huge weak points in the front... the closer it gets to it's enemies the faster it will get killed.

Being an owner of both the Lowe and the VK 75, I can say that the VK is strictly better only in certain scenarios, with the Lowe overall being the better tank. While the VK can trade shots due to stupidly high alpha (I've rolled up to 612), the Lowe can place them more accurately and also fire more often. VK's armor only works if your side scrape subtly and hide your cupola. You can't over angle like you can in something like the KV-4 and expect to still bounce shots. In my opinion, the best way to play the VK is to use peek-a-boom tactics and fire the gun every time it reloads. I've already had several 3.6k damage games using this method.

No its not, where did you get that idea from? Literally every minute of the video is dez talking about sidescraping in this tank to maximize the armor.
Any chance to bring the T30 down to tier 8 and make it a prem with the 155mm WG? pls? Might as well anyway with WG making things like this Lol. Yes T34 is around but how many really use it? I use it as it's one of the few prems i got.

VK168 needs a little buff, either remove one of the weak spots or buff the alpha. It has worse armor AND a worse gun than the tech tree counterpart. 1 is fine but both come on..
Funny thing is that the Mauerbrecher can do everything this VK can do but better. And people have been saying the Mauer is one of the worst T8 premiums ever and how much it sucks. So what does that say about this new VK.
SuperGankBros It can do everything the VK75 can do, but definitely not better lmao. Its slower, it has slightly worse armor values and significantly bigger weakspots. The only real advantage the Mauer has over the VK is the fact that the latter has 8 degrees of gun depression. It’s fine to like the Mauer, but don’t falsely claim that its better than this new premium, because its not. The VK75 is literally what the Mauerbrecher was supposed to be, WG just decided that the proper changes were to be added to a new premium instead of the existing one.
Troa Barton the gun is exactly the same as its tech tree counter, the VK100. I assume you are comparing the Mauer’s gun to the Tiger 2 are you not?
Löwe is pretty much the best german HT tier for tier (if you ignore the Faillöwe 72.01 K)

I have FV4202 also & i love it. Decent mobility & penetration plus a good credits maker. I wanted to get the VK 75 but too hesitant to do so. How do you like the 75 so far?
@@rockbottom109 Liking it alot so far... Mainly been in Frontline with it, 3 Pub Games... Avg Damage minus the Zero Damage Game I just wasn't feeling the Teams Logic, is about 1700, in the First 2 Games alone well over 2K Avg...
In Frontline I start in a Medium or a Light and see where I end up before I get the 75.01 out though... Wanna make sure it's in it's element before i get it Punished... Getting 7K Damage Games in it in Frontline though...

Caravan, caravan ax and defenders are the best in my opinion
You must have met a player who has never played a vk100 and vk45.02b, because this tank plays as a hybrid of each. Its very easy to mostly cover the cupola weakspot and outtrade most opponents. This tank can easily bounce a Caern’s gold rounds.
Definitely not a hard pass if you like a trading heavy with good armor. Its a worthy competitor to the Lowe even if it is weaker than it.
Lowe is better in everyway other than alpha.

If you want a hardcore trash premium buy this thing, it's actually worse than the VK 168, the entire side of the tank is a flat weakspot, even worse when you play against tier 10.
I obviously didn't buy it, but faced a lot of them already in my other premiums and using 10's. I literally just needed to fire twice with a 60TP for example, you just overmatch the side at likely 30 degrees for 800 or 850 high rolls, now that is using a Heavy tank line 152mm, a TD like the RHM or the ISU will have no problem and so on, having a lot more accuracy and penetration.
The turret is nothing better, the cheeks and cupola make it as useless as the VK 168 one, but you actually have less hull armor.
People thinking this thing is a cut version of the VK.4502B have no idea, the hull is no near on par, neglecting even sidescrape, which is the only thing it is supposed to do good, for a bad reference, even the Tiger 2 fare better at the same circumstances.
The german teck tree and prems suffer since beginning of this game because of one Problem.
They get constantly tiered a bit to high.
I mean let's be real, they're facing tanks constantly that are younger or upgraded after ww2 with significant better hardware. Look at hull and turret dimensions, geometry, power to weight ratio (old ww2 engines).
One hell of an exampke is tiger 1, on tier 6 they couldn't really implement him, because it was to strong, they had to put it at tier 7 due to some specs and put a premium better placed tiger years later into the game.
Yeah.. from tier 8 to 10 that would mean the diversity in the overall game would a bit go down, because GDR tanks are russian made and slightly altered, west germany had american tanks slightly altered but... at least in tier 8, we would possibly get a wide field of equally capable tanks and a hell of fun for everyone.
At the end just ask yourself, why the fuck is at tier 8 a "mauerbrecher" that gets nothing done and the Maus and E 100 to? Because they are, for the "Mauerbrecher", straight bullshit and made up for the game, so the intention is clear to get your money for simply collectors Item or are not well placed when you look at thr competitors.
One example: E 100, yeah it was more of a drawing board tank in developement, but instead of putting this shitty experimental "maybe" turret on top, why not giving it the planned C,B or G turret, to give him at least the chance to bounce occansionally shots?
They're based on older tank doctrines and understatement of tank warfare. In relation to that the tog 2 gets a pretty low tier rank but suffers the same problem. I don't say put the maus and E 100 on tier 8, but honestly, a progetto can wreck those tanks when played like supposed to be, quite easily.
The answer, they don't f****** care and nobody wants to see german nazi time tanks on the winning or evenly matched side of the game.
And this is also the case on the Leopard pta and leopard 1... Everybody knows that the slightly later versions had a bit more protected Turret, what would help the leo to at least get more survivability and maybe occansionally carry a game in good hands and the timeframe would be fitting, but nooooooo you can pen a leo 1 with tier 7 guns in theory, the only thing that prevents that is matchmaking.
