    As a day one listener, I find his outbursts refreshing too.

    What's amazing about Steve is his bare maximum approach. Literally most of his songs only consist of 4 or 5 layers at most: bass, guitar, drums and vocals. This really helps the song come across clearly without getting lost in the production, it's pure and intentional like you say. What's even more amazing is that he has managed to achieve extreme mainstream success without compromising on his style at all. That should be extremely motivating for artists who want to make it in music but don't want to compromise.

      Great point and I totally agree about how motivational of an artist he is also considering that a lot of his early production started on his iPod touch/iPhone which is just insane to me

    steve didn’t smash a phone he smashed a cheap disposable camera which had been thrown and hit him earlier but made its way back to the crowd and so when he saw it he understandably took care of business

    Steve Lacy been poppin before Bad Habit but that’s when TikTok and the mainstream got of hold of him, he been around big names like Tyler The Creator and J Cole even being part of The Internet with some of the members being from Odd Future in the past. His demo from 2017 still bumps to this day

    People didn’t pay because they respect Lacy they payed so they can see “The New TikTok Star” on stage so they can get clouted up also, it ain’t genuine and I can understand as why Steve acted like he did

    • @noknowledgejustvibes
      @noknowledgejustvibes  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don’t disagree with that, I was more so saying that tiktok fans tend to justify how they act by saying they paid for tickets and stuff, implying that they are giving respect to an artist through paying for a ticket

    Partly agree that it is refreshing however feel like he doesn't consider he may be making new fans at shows who have been invited by friends and he can't expect everyone to know his songs, people fall in love with artists if through how good they are live even if they only knew a little bit of their music before hand

    • @noknowledgejustvibes
      @noknowledgejustvibes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is a really good point. It’s very true that it would be discouraging for new fans that are invited by friends. I definitely do believe tho that if you’re going to a concert (for any artist) you should do some prep work for it, just so that you can actually enjoy the music more. I personally have a hard time being able to actually follow lyrics being sung live at a concert and it can be kind of a jarring experience if they are singing songs that you don’t fully understand. If your friends don’t put you onto some music beforehand - that’s not very cool of them lmao

      @JCC852 ปีที่แล้ว +1
